    7049: Alien Striker
    Space/Alien Conquest, 2011
    More details...

Popped into my local TRU this afternoon, after this morning's diversions, only to find all the regular (i.e. excluding the promo/30xxx series polybags) Alien Conquest & City Harbour sets on the shelf and available to buy. For reference, they weren't in the LEGO section, but in the 'featured items' area by the entrance. The visors in the Alien Conquest sets are clear and you do get a spare :-)

That's cool

Posted by Alemas in Germany, 29 Apr 2011 12:12

An extreme case of "title says it all"! :)

EDIT, after rest of text added: YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! :D TRANS. CLEAR VISORS!!! :D FIIIINAAAAAAALLLLLLYYYYYYYY!!! :D Oops, sorry! :) I imagine that would have been many a Neo-Classic Space MOCcer's reaction! :)

Posted by Doctor Leg O'Brick in United Kingdom, 29 Apr 2011 12:16

Any idea when Tesco or Argos will have them? @Alemas, very true about the title.

Posted by bionic force in United Kingdom, 29 Apr 2011 13:26

I'm hoping to grab one or two of these tomorrow, I'll make sure to ge the prices written down

Posted by Silvertongue in Canada, 29 Apr 2011 14:17

don't suppose there's much chance of them appearing in Canada for a while, Well at least they're actually Released so that's good news

Posted by lemaskdemasque in United Kingdom, 29 Apr 2011 14:23

I'm confused. why is everyone sooo hyped up about trans-clear visors? :S

Posted by Ypres in Canada, 29 Apr 2011 14:24

@Silvertongue - Yeah there's no way we'll see any of these before Lego.com officially launches the products in May. Though compared to US sale prices we'd need to wait for good sales in Canada. Not to forget the fact that everything comes slower to Canada... I think it's hard for American made trucks to equip their winter tires. It's like our post arrives on snow mobiles as far as Lego is concerned!

Posted by voyanui8768 in United Kingdom, 29 Apr 2011 14:29

I have a "spend £30 and get £5 off voucher" for Toys R Us so this might be an excuse to use it :)

@Huw - what were the UK prices of all the Alien Conquest sets?

Posted by yys4u in United States, 29 Apr 2011 14:31

@lemaskdemasque I'd like to know the same thing lol. Is this the first time they've been produced? That's pretty crazy if it is it seems like such a standard piece

Posted by JDLego in Canada, 29 Apr 2011 15:13

Well its great that the US and UK are getting all the City, PotC, and Alien Conquest sets in but Sad that Canada does not get them in for a while. Even though I go to the states in lewiston to get my lego because it is way cheaper and gets to the Target and Wal-wart very fast. I dont have any TRU near lewiston only in tondawanda which is to far of a drive, I only went there to get the Lego City Passenger Train(2011) set. I have seen on the TRU website that they have all the new sets but not in the TRU Canada website or any store. I also sent Legoshop.com a message asking when they will post them on the website or when they will get them in stores but the girl said she didn`t know, not to much of costumer help to me. Well I`ll guess I`ll have to keep trying the website here in Canada or wait for target or wal-mart in the sates to get them. If anybody has news or seen them on store shelfs at these stores could you post it or let me know. Thanks

I took a photo with my phone of the Alien Conquest display ...
http://www.flickr.com/photos/blue-moose/5669906043/
... you can make out some of the prices, but it's a lousy photo.

The City Harbour sets were just going out; there were no price labels yet.

The trans clear visors have never been in a set before.

Posted by Firox 5000 in United Kingdom, 29 Apr 2011 15:42

Does any one know the prices of the city and alien conquest sets in the uk?

Posted by nameloc in United Kingdom, 29 Apr 2011 15:54

firox, if u check out bluemooses flicker u can just about make them out
cheapest seems to be 4.99 most expensive 70 odd
usual lego price points in between.
on utube there are some good lego toyfair demos of these sets.
to be honest i was not gonna even go near these sets, but they do look sweeeeeet

Posted by burakki62 in United Kingdom, 29 Apr 2011 15:56

Well, I went into the Hull branch of Toys r us (before I'd seen this post) and there was no sign of any new sets; apart from the POTC sets which they have had for a week or so.

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 29 Apr 2011 16:21

This was taken at ~3:30; the shelf filler had finished putting them out about a minute before I took the photo. They'd just moved round the corner to start putting out the Harbour sets; I came back about 20 mins later & all the Harbour sets were out, but no price labels had been put out.

Is it the tru just off Eastern Road in Portsmouth ? if so i'll pop down in morning

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 29 Apr 2011 17:22

Bedford

Posted by jamzee44 in United Kingdom, 29 Apr 2011 18:26

being a huge space fan these look superb!! I'm sure I may regret asking this but what does ADU on the minifigs stand for?!

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 29 Apr 2011 18:36

I'm assuming it's 'Alien Defence Unit' :-)

Posted by Zordboy in Australia, 29 Apr 2011 20:18

Ooooh, I do like that Tripod. But I'm more excited for the city harbour stuff, to be honest. I want to build a boat-carrying train carriage, and obviously I need a boat or two for that :).

Posted by QuickBricks in United States, 29 Apr 2011 20:48

Good to know! I haven't been to my local TRU in a while, but I'll be sure to check this out!

Posted by Silvertongue in Canada, 29 Apr 2011 21:10

@Ypres that's absolutely right :P But it's not shipped to NL in trucks so that's no excuse ... But hey i can wait till the summer when i go visit a Lego store in the states :) meanwhile i need to raise the funds to actually get the Alien Conquest sets, ... Sigh ... at least the exchange rate is good :)

Posted by brickmatt in United States, 29 Apr 2011 21:31

Sighted today in Evansville, IN TRU, all, to my knowledge, of the new harbor sets, the satellite launch and moon buggy sets, the Kingdoms king's carriage, and two Alien conquest sets, I think the mothership and helicopter encounter. The rest probably aren't far behind.

Posted by glamdring804 in United States, 30 Apr 2011 00:26

I can guess what the "diversion" was. Awesome wedding.
Anyway, the alien conquest is nice, but I'm more exited about the /\ Kingdoms.
Does anyone know when the second two Atlantis sets will be released in the US?

Posted by Dlakii in Australia, 30 Apr 2011 02:15

Certainly excellent news that they're surfacing so relatively early, but... based on these US prices it's a safe estimate that the Jetcopter Encounter and Earth Defence HQ's Australian prices will make my wallet cry tears of blood, and I /really/ don't want to think about the Alien Mothership's pricing. :P Eh, maybe the Alien Defender will still be okay pricewise.

Posted by jamzee44 in United Kingdom, 30 Apr 2011 04:43

They are in TRU Exeter

Posted by Hob in United Kingdom, 30 Apr 2011 04:46

Gonna try TRU in Brislington (Bristol) later today so will report back. So of the set look great.

Posted by Matthew in United Kingdom, 30 Apr 2011 04:50

About to phone TRU Stockport so I'll let you know what they say.

Posted by Heiwa in United Kingdom, 30 Apr 2011 05:25

Tamworth TRU has all the Alien Conquest sets, near the front of the store.

Posted by Jammiedodger714 in United Kingdom, 30 Apr 2011 08:31

Great!
Any in the Coventry store?

Posted by Heiwa in United Kingdom, 30 Apr 2011 09:07

@Jammiedodger714 That was my next stop, had the route sorted ready. Thankfully Tam had them. I'm guessing Coventry has them as its a bigger store, but its probably worth a call first.

Posted by Rubber Mongoose in United Kingdom, 30 Apr 2011 10:33

The nearest TRU to me, Stevenage, has all of them. I might go down there to pick up the Tripod Invader...

Posted by Matthew in United Kingdom, 30 Apr 2011 11:06

TRU Stockport aren't answering their phone, and Manchester can't find them on the shelf or the system, but are looking in the stockroom and are going to give me a ring if they find any.

Posted by Matthew in United Kingdom, 30 Apr 2011 11:24

Two phone calls later: TRU Stockport did answer the phone, what I thought was a dead line was being on hold, At first he said they had them but weren't allowed to sell them, then he said they were on sale for
4641 03.99
4642 13.99
4643 29.99
4644 41.99
4645 71.99

TRU Manchester are getting them on Wednesday.

Posted by Hob in United Kingdom, 30 Apr 2011 12:44

TRU Bris has some of the AC sets i got the 2 smallest ones. Also picked up a POTC captains cabin set, thay had a few of them but scattered around the shelves very odd.

Posted by Bion in United States, 30 Apr 2011 14:43

@QL I visited mt TRU yesterday and they had the last two atlantis sets ( the Deep Sea Raider and the City of Atlantis that is). They also had the POTC sets (but no Alien Conquest).
However customer service let me order one off thieir website (7052 UFO Abduction), in the store.

Posted by nameloc in United Kingdom, 30 Apr 2011 14:43

any one been to leicester yet?

Posted by MisterGeolix814 in United States, 30 Apr 2011 16:32

today i got 7052 at my local TRU

Posted by bodybomb3 in United Kingdom, 30 Apr 2011 16:36

Anyone know about Brighton ?

Posted by Bricknation.com in United Kingdom, 30 Apr 2011 18:13

@LegoCoastGuard - I've been to TRU both in Stockport and in Manchester (Ancoats) and all the Alien Conquest and Harbour sets are out on the shelves in promotional area close to the entrance.

Funny thing - Today I had a chat with one of designers of the Alien Conquest sets (at the lego show in Manchester) - apparently the sets were supposed to be launched some time in June so I showed him some of my shopping. You should see the look on his face :)

7052 UFO Abduction has 2 slight design faults
1. once you abduct a minifigure and then pull it out it's hair or hat stays inside and its not that easy to retrieve it
2. you can't abduct cows - they don't fit in

thats all for now

Posted by Matthew in United Kingdom, 01 May 2011 03:34

@Bricknation.com - You shouldn't have told him, now TRU will recall them before I have a chance to buy :-)

Posted by marcbowyer001 in United Kingdom, 01 May 2011 04:18

All the Alien Conquest sets were available in Toys R Us Watford yesterday 30/4/11 I got two 7066 Earth Defence HQ £76.99 and 7067 Jet Copter Encounter £30.99 as the rest to me looked a bit boring.

Posted by DrDaveWatford in United Kingdom, 01 May 2011 04:56

^ The sets must have gone out pretty late in the day as I checked earlier on and couldn't find any of them ! Where were they ?

Posted by aquafreak125 in United Kingdom, 01 May 2011 05:35

^^This is good news, I'll have to check the watford branch now :-)

Posted by Hob in United Kingdom, 01 May 2011 05:53

In Brislington the set weren't in the main big display but on the isle as you enter the store, so could of been missed. Just like the POTC sets they were scattered with other lego. Best to have a good look.

Posted by richardh in United Kingdom, 01 May 2011 07:56

All sets in Warrington branch!

Posted by Bricknation.com in United Kingdom, 01 May 2011 08:49

@LegoCoastGuard - I don't think so. TRU is TLG's biggest customer so they pretty much do whatever they want. In TRY Ancoats they even had a sign next to Alien sets saying "only at TRU"

Posted by princeofpersia in United Kingdom, 01 May 2011 14:52

@nameloc i went today and they had all the alien conquest sets :D

Posted by nameloc in United Kingdom, 01 May 2011 14:54

cheers prince, did u see if they potc too?

Posted by princeofpersia in United Kingdom, 01 May 2011 15:25

yeah they did although i dont think they had queen annes revenge :)

Posted by lemaskdemasque in United Kingdom, 01 May 2011 16:47

why are transclear visors so cool?

Posted by carding in United Kingdom, 01 May 2011 17:11

no second their really is a first time for everything!!?!

Posted by itsaturkey in United States, 01 May 2011 22:35

lemaskdemasque- Well they've never been seen in any set before, and they've made practically EVERY color in visors except clear up till now.
I love these new sets. I just hope Lego will keep one of these themes for longer then two years. I feel overwhelmed with all these new pieces.

Posted by HWR1996 in United Kingdom, 02 May 2011 07:51

any seen in the harlow branch?

Posted by marcbowyer001 in United Kingdom, 02 May 2011 15:24

F.A.O DrDaveWatford - The sets were on a shelf as you walk in but wernt where the full lego range was. Just ask a member off staff and the will show you. They had plenty in stock.

Posted by mokey2345 in United Kingdom, 02 May 2011 15:58

went down to the eastern road tru and found new city, alien conquest, creator and potc

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 03 May 2011 08:35

TRU Portsmouth has them all, in the location others have found them, as you walk in.

Posted by vagabondnma in United Kingdom, 03 May 2011 09:47

TRU Bolton has the Harbour sets on a different aisle to the other Lego sets.
Also has the new Creator sets on a different aisle again!

I Bought 5771 Hillside House £49.99 and 5770 Lighthouse £40.99

Both sets look incredible and I will have to buy more (when the prices come down) so that I can have the other models.

They also have all the alien invasion sets (round the corner) and the Creator robot.

They only had ONE 5771 house left when I left though.

Posted by classic_spaceman in United Kingdom, 04 May 2011 18:13

Called into TRU Brighton this evening and they have all the POTC (including QA Revenge!), Harbour and Alien Conquest sets. Like others have mentioned above, they're not in the regular Lego aisle but in a separate area as soon as you enter the store. More confusingly still they're not all together there either, so you have to hunt about.

Picked up a 7052 ... sure hope you like stickers if you intend to get this theme.

The harbour sets looked cool but to my mind there didn't seem to be much to them for the price. Presumably the draw for these is that the ships actually float?
