Here it is, the one many of you have been waiting for! Flickr user Tazmandvl1 has acquired the set from somewhere and posted great hi-res photos of it in his flickrstream!

Thanks to aaronptrck for the news, which appears to have originated at Toys N Bricks.

UPDATE:  Most stores have already received these but cannot sell them until next Tuesday, May 10.

Ehh...I love the modulars, but this seems lame :(

I'm sure I'll get it, though.

Posted by TooMuchLEGO in United States, 03 May 2011 17:04

I have no idea how he got it... looks cool though! :)

Posted by starfire2 in United States, 03 May 2011 17:04

it looks pretty cool. Someone on Toys n bricks said they found it in their local Lego store.

Posted by aaronptrck in United States, 03 May 2011 17:04

Ya, I got it from Toys N' Bricks :p

Posted by Morgan19 in United States, 03 May 2011 17:10

I can't put my finger on *why*, but it just doesn't seem as "polished" as the other modulars. They're nice buildings, just missing something...

Posted by zombymobster in United States, 03 May 2011 17:13

^^^I think it's the color combinations. They look very primary to me, whereas most of the other modulars have newer, rarer colors. JMO

Posted by Alemas in Germany, 03 May 2011 17:18

IT'S A PET SHOP! :D YAY! :D

Posted by Alemas in Germany, 03 May 2011 17:19

Wait... LOOK AT THE MINIFIG WITH THE WHITE CAP!!! HE HAS A PAINT ROLLER!!!

Posted by CapnRex101 in United Kingdom, 03 May 2011 17:21

I absolutely adore that paint roller, I have never thought of a design like that!

Anyway, I like the set, I think Grand Emporium looked a little better but I like the inclusion of two slightly different buildings in this one. Has anyone got any ideas how many of these modular buildings we can expect (I count 5 so far, or 4 if you do not include the Market Street)?

Posted by TheNick in United States, 03 May 2011 17:21

I just stopped by local Lego Store and was told the 10th of May. :(

Posted by georgebjones in United States, 03 May 2011 17:22

I think this set design is fabulous. The colors may be a little underwhelming, true, but still a great set. If is has less rare colors, all the easier to rebuild your own. :) Curious, I wonder if the round quarter 2X3X3 brick is a new upside down revision, or just a regular one flipped. They just need to release one in red. :)

Posted by Alemas in Germany, 03 May 2011 17:25

It even includes a detailed BACK SIDE! WOW!

Posted by Alemas in Germany, 03 May 2011 17:28

Waiiit a second... HA! The paint roller is made of SEVERAL PIECES! I thought it was a new mold!

Posted by AETerry in United States, 03 May 2011 17:31

I want one?!!!!!!

Posted by momentaneously in United States, 03 May 2011 17:38

The modular buildings are one of my favorite Lego themes and is perfect for a mantle display. I agree that this one is not quite as good as the others. The brownstone top floor doesn't blend well with the rest of the building. I am also a bit picky about putting a purely residential module next to a whole block of commercial properties (that has got to be a noisy street to live on).

Posted by LuvKernow in United Kingdom, 03 May 2011 17:43

@momentaneously you've obviously never been to England or Europe then! We don't have to walk two miles to the nearest mall to do some shopping... ;o)

Posted by aaronptrck in United States, 03 May 2011 17:48

I think it's an amazing set! I've collected all the sets ever since the first ones came out in 2007. The only complaint I have is the fact that you get less bang for your buck as each set comes out. Each set comes with fewer and fewer pieces... Still it's a better value than a licensed them or architecture set.

Posted by dustinmroberts in United States, 03 May 2011 17:57

@momentaneously From the break-away picture on the box, it almost looks as though the two building will connect via technic pins, which would mean you would be able to move them wherever you'd like, and not necessarily keep them together

Posted by jinxjinx550 in United States, 03 May 2011 18:00

I don't know; I think this set looks pretty great. Are those windows on the Pet Store building made of Pearl Gold? And are those pearl gold ice creams decorating the tops of the upper windows? I especially like the fact that it has both front and back detailing, and the two buildings are designed to complement one another. Count me as a fan of this set!

Posted by Brickmatic in United States, 03 May 2011 18:01

Hey guys, the color is off in the photo. I think that the house on the right is some sort of lavender color. The house on the left is dark red or brown. You can tell they are not primary colors because the pet sign is in true blue and the mailbox is in true red. Compare the other colors to those reference points and you'll see what I mean by the colors being off.

That said, what color is the house on the right?

Posted by Captain Blockbeard in United States, 03 May 2011 18:17

The set is a bit disappointing in terms of details on the two facades. I assume it will cost $150 like the other modular buildings, but with a reduced level of detail, I feel like it shouldn't be worth more than $120-130.

Posted by DrDaveWatford in United Kingdom, 03 May 2011 18:32

Few things make me happier than a new Modular - I will sleep soundly tonight and dream happy dreams !

Posted by madforLEGO in United States, 03 May 2011 19:23

Sweet, Thanks for the Pic!!!!

Posted by vpustote in United States, 03 May 2011 19:44

If you look at this other photo of it:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/62467536@N06/5684488247/in/photostream

You will see the back of the box where the buildings in different positions, so

@dustinMroberts they are moveable just like you said.

Posted by vwong19 in United States, 03 May 2011 20:00

The modulars are the center piece of my LEGO collection. I absolutely love each set released. It makes the vehicles and minifigures come alive. I hope this theme continues forever. I wouldn't mind if they re-release older sets.... the demand for the older sets are through the roof

Posted by Brickmatic in United States, 03 May 2011 20:28

Is anyone who's more familiar with the LEGO color palette able to identify what shade of blue (or purple?) the house on the right is?

Posted by brixton in Canada, 03 May 2011 20:29

I do like this new set but I probably won't buy it.

The things I like about this set is that the buildings look smaller in scale. On top of that there are two different buildings rather than just one. There is a house and a pet store. The colours look like they could be unique too (well at least lavender for the pet shop). The dark red/brown for the house is still up in the air until I see it in a better photo. I also like how the back of the buildings contains a lot of detail.

There are a few things that I don't like about this set that will probably prevent me from buying it. It lacks the wow factor that the Grand Emporium, Green Grocer and Cafe Corner have. When I saw those sets (and Market Street) my jaw hit the floor. Not so much with this set. It is a nice set, and a nice pair of buildings but it didn't strike me as much as previous modular buildings.

Posted by jonbuddy in United States, 03 May 2011 20:58

@brixton, Yeah, this is probably a not-buy for me too. (the only modular building I got was the first one, Café Corner) But, this set does look interesting nonetheless.

Posted by Zackula in United States, 03 May 2011 21:14

I love these modular sets, but they are way out of my price range, so I don't think I will get any. Since this is a pet shop, does this mean new animals? I looked in the window and didn't really see anything.

Posted by llanowarsoldier in United States, 03 May 2011 21:45

Since it is 2 different buildings I think I'll separate them. Ill put the House next to my Green Grocer and the Petshop between my Fire Brigade and Grand Emporium. The colors should balance out better IMO with that set up.

Posted by JDLego in Canada, 03 May 2011 21:54

Does anybody know how much it is(US), and I havent bought any of the modular sets yet!, do you think I should start now with this one or is it too late, if you got recomendations let me know.

Posted by llanowarsoldier in United States, 03 May 2011 21:57

@ JDLego Us $149.99....but get Fire Brigade 1st, the Grand Emporium, then this one last. Fire Brigade is the 1st one to retire..BTW all of those sets are also 149.99 US

Posted by JDLego in Canada, 03 May 2011 21:58

@ llanowarsoldier Do you know any stores that carry those sets, maybe I can get them before there gone.

Posted by The Green Brick Giant in United States, 03 May 2011 22:01

Better than a fire station.

Posted by Zordboy in Australia, 03 May 2011 22:49

Gorgeous. Love it.

Posted by madforLEGO in United States, 04 May 2011 00:11

@JDLego:
TRU.com, Target.com, and Amazon.com, and of course Lego.com
Only Lego stores have the sets in a store.. the others do not (although TRU reportedly does sell these at certain Tru brick and mortars (according to their site) I have yet to see one in an actual store....

I mean there are only so many huge buildings that can be built in the vein of Cafe Corner, Green Grocer, etc... I like the idea of having two smaller buildings put together for a change, as you can split them up if need be... AS long as the sets after are not like this.

Posted by madforLEGO in United States, 04 May 2011 00:16

I saw the back of the box... the picture is blurry, and do my eyes deceive me? Is that a yellow rubber ducky or something on the top shelf in the pet shop?

Posted by brankell5566 in Canada, 04 May 2011 00:43

@madforlegos The guy uploaded a better picture of the back of the box. From what I can see it isn't a yellow duck, it is a yellow frog.

Posted by legowomen1980p in United States, 04 May 2011 01:22

This is Awesome, thanks Lego.. the perfect House for boys and Girls to role play together..

Posted by erbse2000 in Germany, 04 May 2011 01:39

I agree with "Morgan19" that the set misses something. Maybe the angle of the picture on the box has not been chosen very well by LEGO. Nevertheless when I see the assembled set in a display in the LEGO store I know that 150€ will change the owner... :-)

Posted by Andrew85 in United Kingdom, 04 May 2011 02:50

I probably will buy it, shame the free shipping probably won't be valid until after this set is out. I thik it is growing on me the more I look at it, I said the same with the grand emporium, and to be honest I didn't give it the best review in retrospect, the pieces for MOC's were great, hopefully this set offers the same. But having said that they did put the price of the GE down by 8% or so. Hopefully they get the price right from the start here! 100-120 max

Posted by DrDaveWatford in United Kingdom, 04 May 2011 03:13

If you look at the poster's Flickr stream he also has the new Cars 2 sets.......

Posted by legohpcity in Sweden, 04 May 2011 03:58

Wow! It looks really cool! I want it!

Posted by Nesquik in United Kingdom, 04 May 2011 04:51

Does it come packaged in one of the 'new' smaller boxes? :) Thanks

Posted by OuterRimTradingCo. in Australia, 04 May 2011 06:02

While I always look forward to a new modular release and will in no doubt be purchasing one of these, I am left feeling a little underwhelmed at it... the design elements of both buildings borrow heavily from past sets with a lot of "green grocer" influence. There doesn't seem to be anything "new" here (apart from the paint roller)

Posted by macmon in Philippines, 04 May 2011 07:14

wow! wish it was priced lower.

Posted by brixton in Canada, 04 May 2011 07:33

I think Sharpy hit on the feeling of not being blown away by this set. When I first looked at the Pet Shop I also thought it was a bit similar to the Green Grocer. I guess that dimmed my interest for this set since I just built the Green Grocer a few days ago (I purchased one of the last remaining sets on LEGO.com before it was retired). I'll get the Grand Emporium next and then wait and see what modular building LEGO comes out with next year.

Posted by Firox 5000 in United Kingdom, 04 May 2011 07:35

In my opinion the set looks pretty good, the fact you are not just getting a pet store but also a housing aoartment too. The colours atm look a little odd but the rest of the set looks great eventhough it looks a bit weaker than previous entries to the modular series.

I would like it ideally to be around £99.99. but seeing the Grand Emporiums price and the big 25%+ price hikes recently I would expect it to go on market for £132.99 [ maybe a bit more].

Unlike the other modulars, I am not sure if there was a clue in the emporium to give a hint of the next modular being a Pet shop.

Posted by brixton in Canada, 04 May 2011 07:37

The reason why I think the Pet Shop is a good set though is because it's different. I don't think LEGO has released a Pet Shop before.

Posted by Bion in United States, 04 May 2011 08:33

Wow, this looks amazing. The outside isn't as stunning as some of the other modulers but the inside more than makes up for this IMO. I really like that they included a bathroom!

Posted by mkoesel in United States, 04 May 2011 09:04

Anyone know if perhaps the new small chimp (or whatever it is) that is used in one of the new Series 5 Collectable Minifigures (I think she's a zookeeper?) will be used in this set? I think that would be perfect for the pet shop.

If not, it will make a good enhancement later once I get that fig. :)

Posted by avoiceoreason in United States, 04 May 2011 09:09

The modulars are by far my favorite theme, but . . . I have to agree with what appears to be the growing consensus that this is least impressive of the bunch. Definitely no WOW factor here. Overall I'm kind of disappointed.

Posted by vpustote in United States, 04 May 2011 09:12

At first glance, I would have to say it's pretty ordinary looking. But looking at it side by side with the other modulars, it looks pretty awesome.

I think it will make a nice addition to the street.

Posted by EliteLeader99/brickboy2 in United States, 04 May 2011 09:50

THAT LOOKS SO COOL!

Posted by aaronptrck in United States, 04 May 2011 10:55

The one thing you have to admit with this set (as opposed to the Grand Emporium, and other prior sets): At least they did a better job at keeping this one a secret... We knew what it was for a while, but we sure didn't know what it would look like (Grand Emporium was one of the worst kept secrets!)

Posted by ncbarrett in United States, 04 May 2011 11:16

@aaronptrck I too thought it was amazing there was no pics anywhere. Makes me wonder when pics "leak" out, if it really is a true "leak"? Or a plant.

Posted by HWR1996 in United Kingdom, 04 May 2011 11:25

finally, still gotta get the fire brigade, and the grand emporium, ill defiantly get this, im only getting houses for now!

Posted by TheKingOfBuilding in United Kingdom, 04 May 2011 12:16

If Lego produce some more Modular Buildings, I bet the next ones will be two more "corner" buildings (cafe corner and grand eporium style). The reason being, is that there are already two "corner" buildings in the range, and four normal buildings (green grocer, market street, fire brigade and the new pet shop) so the idea is that you can create a whole rectangular street!

Posted by chicagorando in United States, 04 May 2011 12:18

Does this set have an official title or name? We've been referring to it as a "Pet Shop" but that really only describes the building on the right. I think it's weird that this set doesn't have a name written on its box (like how "Grand Emporium" and "Fire Brigade" do).

Posted by tontonsega in France, 04 May 2011 12:37

Not the best of the serie...

Posted by ejcmoorhouse in United Kingdom, 04 May 2011 14:23

that i have to say does look poor compared to the ones before i like the mods even though i can't afford them, but if i could i would buy them but this one i don't know. You do get two...

Posted by ladymelissa in United States, 04 May 2011 14:35

Is that a new fish piece or just a sticker? and if thats a yellow frog, that would be pretty cool. The hogwarts game had a yellow frog so its not a new piece, but the set looks really cool. I wish we could get better close up pics. and see if there are any more new animals.

Posted by ncbarrett in United States, 04 May 2011 15:02

@ladymelissa yes it is a fish (used in CMF fisher man and new fishing boat), but a new color. The yellow frog is also in Frog Rush game, appears to also contain a grey frog. The parrots are 2 tone, there is also a dog and cat.

Posted by JDLego in Canada, 04 May 2011 15:12

Even though I dont have any of the modular buildings I will get this, but the right side is the pet store and whats the left building supposed to be.

Posted by LegoCity578 in United States, 04 May 2011 15:56

Looks pretty bad and ugly compared to the other Modulars

Posted by beefygrefe in United States, 04 May 2011 16:05

I'm surprised that everyone seems so disappointed/underwhelmed with this set. I love the fact that they're doing something so different. I don't think they could get a way with doing a full sized 32x32 stud building as a pet shop or a house so the did them as a side-by-side. It'll ad some nice variety to my city block.

Posted by JDLego in Canada, 04 May 2011 16:21

Will it be avaliable in TRU or just lego brand stores.

Posted by Andrew85 in United Kingdom, 04 May 2011 16:30

There's gotta be some better pics. C'mon huw share that press pack with us? :)

Posted by adello25 in United States, 04 May 2011 16:33

I guess I am one of the few people who like this. I really like the colors that are used. I also like the fact that this is not a 32x32. You can separate both of them and rearrange them and put them along side the 5 other modular buildings.

Posted by tman684 in United States, 04 May 2011 16:40

it looks like dark red and sand blue... I can't wait for this!!! at least it has furniture unlike cafe corner and green grocer. seems kinda short.... is that the same cat from the new hogwarts? i like how the red one and market street have .... "basements" not really deep enough, but useful

also, did anyone notice they brought back yellow flowers?!?!?!?!!!

Posted by crazyawesomeyeah in United States, 04 May 2011 17:26

it's $150 USD. i just found that out. if some1 else posted that, oh well. and i think it's a pretty good set, with very bright and cool new elements. i really want it.

Posted by tman684 in United States, 04 May 2011 17:59

am i the only one excited about yellow flowers??? also, if anybody has more detailed pics of the inside, please share!

Posted by brankell5566 in Canada, 04 May 2011 18:30

Tazmandvl1 has now posted picture of the build itself.

Posted by madforLEGO in United States, 04 May 2011 18:42

Is the guy posting photos from OK? :-)

Posted by mrsprewell in United States, 04 May 2011 18:45

The 2 buildings layout reminds me of market street set...which is good...they also have a more residential look

Posted by bmwlego in United States, 04 May 2011 19:29

YES!!! A new Modular Town set! Love this theme and am so glad that the line has a new addition. These 2 buildings don't knock me off of my feet at first glance but wait until I get to build them and learn the many techniques that Jamie no doubt will share with us as we build this set.
I like the idea of buildings being comparable with Market Street. Are all buildings on a city block the same width? Hoping the color of the pet shop is Sand Blue as I don't have many elements in this color.
Keep 'em coming LEGO and I will keep buying and building these awesome sets.

As for this being a well kept secret, I'd have to agree. I didn't know anything about this set prior to seeing the pics on flickr, thanks to fellow I LUG NY member Rick!

Posted by JDLego in Canada, 04 May 2011 22:37

Will TRU (US) carry it or just the LEGO Brand Stores.

Posted by Brickmack in United States, 04 May 2011 22:40

Looks cool. Too bad the lettering is probably done the same way as in the Fire Brigade. It looks wonderful, but I spent like 20 minutes trying to get those to go together correctly... The 2 building idea is nice also.

Posted by legoman1873 in United States, 04 May 2011 22:49

there needs to be something unique. For example: when I first saw the grand carousel, my jaw dropped. When I saw the UCS Millenium Falcon, my jaw dropped. When I saw the maersk container ship, i thought this is ok. This set is like the container ship and the other buildings are like the falcon and the carousel. The ship and the pet store are cool, but don't seem like they deserve the title of being an exclusive, cool unique set.
My list of "Cooler/better" buildings to do
1. Bowling alley (im working on one myself)
2. Retro arcade
3. Brand name store (like dillards or ace hardware)
4. classic hotel
5. Lego store
6. a larger building that retails for $199.99

Posted by M-Tron Hero Kodiak in United States, 04 May 2011 22:59

This is nice! Since it has pets, My wife approved of its purchase (so far).
It does look off compared to the other modulars, but the backside picture provided by vpustote has it looking really nice next to the fire station.
And is that a toliet I see in one of the pictures???

A definate buy, I like how it incorperates two buildings (sorta).

Posted by TopperTwist in United States, 05 May 2011 00:09

I don't like the green on the apartment building, it just looks...eww. But, I will more than likely pick this one up because I'm a sucker for the modulars. Lawns of the neighborhood, here I come...

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 05 May 2011 01:30

there is a parrot.....why?

Posted by thesinisterpenguin in United Kingdom, 05 May 2011 02:33

^ because some people have pet parrots.

Posted by Zordboy in Australia, 05 May 2011 03:22

@legoman1873 -- it's been years since we've gotten a decent post office. We even have a modular fire station, which is fair enough, but no, I'd like my modular city to have a post office.

Posted by Be-Burger in Israel, 05 May 2011 06:01

Posted by dustinmroberts in United States, 05 May 2011 08:50

@Be-Burger - From what I've gathered and read from other people posting here, it should be on shelves May 10th.

Posted by Gary Bricks in United Kingdom, 05 May 2011 11:53

Should be cheap in comparison to the Grand Emporium. I say 'should'...

Posted by marcbowyer001 in United Kingdom, 05 May 2011 13:15

This sets available in the UK form Lego stores on 10th May at a cost of £119.99 confirmed by Milton Keynes Lego Store today.

Posted by jetsetwilly in United Kingdom, 05 May 2011 14:47

I love the brownstone, but I don't like the Pet Store. The "Pets" part seems a bit naff.

Posted by brixton in Canada, 05 May 2011 19:01

Three modular buildings I would like to see in the future. 1) Hospital. 2) Post Office. 3) Restaurant(s), one on each floor. That would be awesome.

Posted by Veritas313 in United Kingdom, 06 May 2011 02:09

I always eagerly await a new modular build and this one does not disappoint. It will look fab in the collection. I would love to see a bank as the next modular. You could have some stunning architecture on the outside and great features inside like vaults, teller windows, offices etc - I hope Jamie's already thought of this or reads this post!!

Thanks Lego

Posted by abu 1 2 in United States, 06 May 2011 02:28

I'm really liking the house on the left. Lego should design a set of the painted ladies in SF. Seeing how popular the landmark series and modulars are, it would kill two birds with one stone. And I definitely agree with brixton on seeing a hospital modular in the future.

Posted by scholte23 in Australia, 06 May 2011 04:19

Does anyone have any info on when this will be released in Australia??

Posted by Plastic_Nurak_80 in Italy, 06 May 2011 05:18

Well, this autumn I'll buy this new masterpiece. Now I'm late and I must buy still the Shop.

Posted by bmwlego in United States, 06 May 2011 06:07

The Pet Shop is definitely SAND BLUE! There are also Medium Light Blue elements in the set and you can see the difference easily on the top of the box where the set inventory is located. The set will retail for $149.99. I'll be getting this the next time I switch out a LUG Showcase Model for ILUGNY!
