When the forum was launched on April 2nd this year I really didn't know whether it would be a success or not. The Internet is after all, full of LEGO forums, and there probably wasn't room for another.
However, it seems my doubts were unfounded because today it's about to get its 1000th member, so clearly it has found its niche as a great place to discuss LEGO, in particular collecting it, with like-minded individuals.
It's also proved useful to me as a place to gather feedback, ideas and suggestions for Brickset and a number of enhancements have already been made as a direct result of interactions in the forum, for example, the Advanced Collection Manager.
