Wonder when and where it will be available in the U.S

@Ha876 - Hopefully it will even be available in the US.

I've just picked up four of the new Alien Conquest sets, and was just thinking that the ADU blasters would make good handles/controls for some sort of vehicle. Looks like this walker uses them.

Am loving Alien Conquest so far. I wasn't too taken at first, but they've grown on me!

I got the August calendar from the Lego Store today, and you get the 30041 AQ Jet Pack free with a $35 purchase. Not available for individual sale unfortunately.

@teal93mr2 - I'm in debt to you. Thanks for the heads-up!!!

Posted by Ypres in Canada, 05 Jul 2011 15:53

*Sigh* How come whenever I see a Polybag on Brickset I never (ever) see one in Canada??? I mean, is it such a bad idea for TRU (CANADA) to start stocking some of these!?

Posted by ncbarrett in United States, 05 Jul 2011 16:08

@ypres perhaps with Targets coming to Canada, you might eventually see them there.

Posted by teal93mr2 in United States, 05 Jul 2011 16:39

@Jarod98: No problem. I have been wanting that set for quite some time now, will definitely be making multiple Lego Store visits next month!

Posted by mkoesel in United States, 05 Jul 2011 18:04

Hmm, interesting slope-plates on the feet. I've got plenty of first half 2011 sets and have never seen those so I guess they are new for the latest wave of sets?

Posted by Jarod98 in United Kingdom, 05 Jul 2011 19:02

@teal93mr2 - Just one question: Are you sure it's $35 because usually it's $75.

Posted by teal93mr2 in United States, 05 Jul 2011 19:09

I could scan in the calendar, but I am 100% sure it is $35.

Posted by Jarod98 in United Kingdom, 05 Jul 2011 19:17

@teal93mr2 - No need, I just wanted to be sure ;)

Posted by Uno Brick in United States, 05 Jul 2011 20:20

Nice little set, but I think I still like the ADU with jetpack/wings polybag better. Still looks like a good set for the army builders out there though. :)

@mkoesel: It looks like those slope-plates are "Slope 45 2 x 1 with 2/3 Cutout", according to Bricklink. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=92946 They are fairly new, only in 9 sets, all of which are fairly recent.

Posted by legomatt in United Kingdom, 05 Jul 2011 21:29

I'm starting to wonder if these ADU guys are commanded by Inspector Gadget! :o) Go Go Gadget Legs! They sure are trying out some wacky designs to combat the alien menace...

I feel the need for this range to include at some later date a tongue-in-cheek nod to Lt. Ripley battling an Alien Queen in a blue ADU power-loader.

Posted by itsaturkey in United States, 05 Jul 2011 21:55

ARGG! Why does Lego HAVE to have country-exclusives!? They'd make way more money if they released these sets in other countries!
P.S. Wait, if Canada is under UK control, shouldn't they get UK exclusives?

Posted by jamesster in United States, 05 Jul 2011 22:38

Oooh, me like. Probably will pick it up for the minifig.

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 06 Jul 2011 02:26

^^ There's no indication yet as to where this will be available. I suspect it'll make its way to the US one way or another and its inclusion in any future newspaper promotion in the UK is pure speculation on my part.

Posted by bmwlego in United States, 06 Jul 2011 06:55

hope these hit the shelves at Target here in the US! Alin Conquest is an awesome line, even though it is in regular old blue.

Posted by Dlakii in Australia, 06 Jul 2011 07:06

I could certainly see these making for neat little piece packages when procured in quantities of at least two, particularly with those blue slopes. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on one, notwithstanding the fact that that's almost certainly not going to happen here. Probably won't bother trying to track one down on the secondhand market, though; as things stand I've got enough on my monetary plate with just the rest of Alien Conquest.

@itsaturkey (to reply to your PS) - Well CANADA isn't under UK control... "control" is a poor choice of words. We really, these days, share only their monarch. So we have a Queen, and a good looking model for the back of our currency! Even our Governor General (supposedly the only person more powerful than the PM) isn't British anymore. So maybe internationally CANADA is no longer seen apart of Britian... per say. Otherwise, for an American, we're America's Hawaii or Alaska. Yep, Canada is always destined to be excluded from the larger body... even though (geographically) we are the larger body! LOL!

@ncbarrett - Yes! I have been reading Yahoo a lot about the development of Target buying Zellers from the HBC. This would be an interesting turn of events seeing how they're a Walmart-like store. I'm hoping the arrival of Target finally brings more diversity (as far as Polybags are concerned) and many more sales. Target really is my only hope for this sort of thing, however I think their "move" will take another year.

@teal93mr2: Thanks for the heads up! I've been wanting one of those and it gives me an excuse to buy a couple of the new LEGO Star Wars sets. Plus, I will have two ADU guys to pilot my custom LEGO gunship.

Posted by JDLego in Canada, 06 Jul 2011 16:04

@Ypres- I agree with you, we here in Canada dont get anything, and if it does it takes a long time, but since I found out I had a TRU in the US near me, which is in lewiston, I`ve been going there to pick up all my Lego, they have lots of stuff, I`m going there to pick up the Jack Sparrow Doll Minifigure for $1.97, Series Minifigures 5, and all of the other polybags and exclusives, if your willing to take the drive I suggest you go there, I`m pretty sure they will have this there soon, I mean they have the jetpack there so it shouldnt be long until this pops up there.

Excuse me but im new and have some new pirates of the carribean set images so how do you upload images? because people need to see them.

Posted by Matthew in United Kingdom, 07 Jul 2011 03:28

@Clone-gunner-comanda-jedi
If they are 'CONFIDENTIAL' watermarked, Brickset has a policy of not using them (http://www.brickset.com/news/article/?ID=1108) If not, you can send them in here (http://www.brickset.com/contact/)
In the future, please don't post off topic.

I'd imagine that LEGO won't be associating themselve with the Sun or the News or the World anytime soon, so be interesting to see if they switch back to the Daily Mirror.

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 07 Jul 2011 08:22

^ Yes, I did wonder that myself. Let's hope not, the Mirror run promotions were much more civilised, weren't they.

Posted by Ypres in Canada, 07 Jul 2011 19:24

@JDLego- While I do live really close to the US my problem happens to be water... yes, I live on Vancouver Island! This means any trip into somewhere like Port Angeles would mean a trip via BC Ferries. So after all those travel fees I'd be stuck not saving much money at all.

What would truely be a miracle is if US companies shipped to Canada. The rare few actually do (Barns&Nobles), however 99% do not. I know that's because they (most) have a Canadian counter part (.ca) so we'd never see that kind of policy. Well I'd be willing to pay customs fees to avoid buying Canadian retail Lego.

Posted by JDLego in Canada, 07 Jul 2011 20:34

@Ypres- Well since your stuck in that situation I wouldnt even bother to make the trip to the US, too bad though, the deals you can get here are amazing, I havent bought a Lego set in Canada for like 5 years now! Also I`d keep an eye out for Toys R Us when their sales go on, they have a promotion to make you buy $75 of Lego and they will ship it for free, I`ve done that many of times if you would like to try that, other than that your right, many Company`s in the US dont ship to Canada, the only ones I know is TRU and Brickarms. There is a Lego Brick and Mortar Store near you if im not mistaken, I would love to go to one of those, and Lego just added a store to Toronto so I`ll be heading there soon. Sorry to here about the bad news but check out that Toys R Us deal or some other place, I`m pretty sure you can find something.

given that the "Red Tops" are all about to get some serious heat, i'd guess this will be a PFS or chain store promo piece later in the year
