    We had a sneak preview of this in the LEGO Collector book a few weeks ago. Now, today, it's been officially announced for a 1st October release:

    10222 Winter Village Post Office, 820 pieces, US $59.99, CA $79.99, DE €59.99 , UK £49.99

    Continuing the winter scene series, the Winter Village Post Office is the perfect snow-covered setting. In the cozy post office, the worker is hard at work sorting all the mail into containers and sacks, while upstairs, there's just time for the postman to take a break before setting off in the traditional post car with all the letters and gifts. From the pavilion outside, musicians fill the air with music, while children take in the wintry atmosphere by the park bench before throwing snowballs at each other - the musicians had better get ready to duck!

    • Includes 7 minifigures: female post office worker, male postman, female, 2 kids and 2 musicians and a dog!
    • Post office features dark-green split roof with snow, fireplace, light brick, table, coffee mug, and lamp post and mailboxes outside!
    • Also features evergreen tree and assorted minifigure accessories.

$60, for 820 pieces. Not bad at all. All the nice architecture, charm and warm cozy feelings are still there. I for one, want to see how the pavilion roof is constructed.

@ pyrokid Is there a nativity scene Lego set that I missed? I would buy that set, I can see the mini figs now, angels with the yellow studs for halos. Joseph with a shepards hook. and baby Jesus head on 1x1 block. I think you just inspired me to do a custom job. Talk about a set that would be a huge seller for Lego.

I think the lamp-posts in each successive set are getting stranger :). That is an unusual design.

But no, I love that. While the building is pretty, I *love* the little swing band. That's so cute.

@wunztwice - I think this video tries to show how the pavilion roof is constructed, but honestly, I didnt quite follow it.

I think the banjo is a round plate with the clip at the back (like the road signs), however with the sticker unfortunately.

It seems like LEGO actually gives us a Christmas present for once with this price. Too bad this does not happen more often. Seems like a great deal for the amount of pieces... and they have stayed consistent with this pricing for the few years they have done these sets.

I hope they continue the line. I have bought each and they're wonderful. LEGO should have been playing up the Christmas/ Holiday/ Winter angle for a long time. It is win/win/win...

I completely agree with ronny here. I have the other 2 sets so of course I'll get this one too but to be honest, I much prefer the other two. The main building I find not to be as arcitechturally clever as the other two. I also find it strange how the others have snow covered rooves and this has patches of snow. This makes the theme less consistent and would make it seem as though one side of the village is melting. I find the lamp extremely over the top. sticking to the design of the one in the toy shop would have looked better and would have been more consistent. To me the pavillion just looks messy and the green hood on a grey top doesn't look right on the shovel man. I find it strange hoe they've used the old-style hair on not just the man but the boy aswell! surely they could use more modern looking hair now. Having said all this, the set does look good, just not perfect like the other two and i'm sure mixed in with the other christmas sets in a display, it will look great.

Great looking set, but I have a feeling the banjo may be a road sign piece (as mentioned by train_nut) held in one hand, and a tan rod piece held in the other, then they have been moved around a bit so it looks like one piece.

I'm a fan of the building and accessories, but why does each building in this "village" have a differently designed lamp post all of differing proportions? This one is so tall but then looks like the minifigure on tiptoes could almost reach the dome! This lamp post will probably be left in the box... Kind of tacky.

I love the gazebo and the mail sacks. What a great piece!

@BooMakuta, did you mean Alien Conquest? 'Cuz I've never heard of Savage Planet sets. :D If anyone hadn't noticed, if you look on the truck, there's a pair of snow shoes. And the snow shoes are a new mold. :) Me likey! I think the set is nice, and I'll totally be getting it. I have the other two......when they did the roof, I think they just wanted it to look different from the other sets. Again...nice set!

@Juno: Those snow shoes don't look new to me. They look exactly like the snow shoes I have that I got in the Adventurers Orient Expedition mountain temple set.

I'm thinking I might want to get this one. It includes a few new torso prints, one of which is seen only in this set. This has two female hair pieces that I want to get. I like the mail truck, it reminds me of the mail truck that the mailman narrator in Rudouph the Red-Nosed Reindeer was driving. Was anyone else thinking the same thing?

Oh, man. That looks like the best one yet! Does anyone know when it will be released? I need to get it, now!

LEGO instruments, classic car filled with presents, more of those great minifigs and the coolest building the LEGO Winter Village line has ever had!

I can't wait for it!

@brix - Where I live we get quite a decent amount of snow each year, at least four feet over the course of the season (recent years have been about twice that). With that said, I don't think it is unusual for there to be different amounts of snow on different buildings' roof tops. The flatter the roof, the less likely snow is to slide off, the steeper the roof the more likely the snow will slide off.

Also, a roof that is exposed to sunlight will lose its snow quicker than a roof in the shade. You can see that with North-facing porch roofs, for example, which get no direct sunlight, whereas south facing get the most sunlight, and east/west getting somewhere in between.

@meyerc13 - plus, don't forget that the rate melting will also depend on the insulation of the building, so the WVPO is obviously a far less efficient building in terms of heat retention than WVTS or WVB. Maybe something to do with the strange chimney design ;-)

@CapnRex101 - one of the other images shows the "banjo" being held in one hand with the other free, so it must be connected.

Does anyone else find the roof apex of the lower section rather clunky ?

Otherwise a fab set - can't wait to get it.

Yeah, the roof here is *very* steep. So that explains the lack of snow compared to the other two.

I do feel bad for Santa. Hope he has his climbing gear :).

This set will go nice with the toy shop, the bakkery and the christmas train, all under the christmas tree, my two daughters can't wait to build a little town each year... now waiting for a train station... or something else.

I can not wait to get this set. When I discovered the Winter "Christmas" Village sets last year I knew I had to have them. I love decorating at Christmas, my mom always had a Dept. 56 village, now I have a one made of Lego. I really hope this theme keeps going, the Post Office looks really great I do with they all had matching lamp posts. Now if only Lego reissue or make a new Christmas Train. The old one goes for over $250 of eBay.

@slave2leia: Yeah, I really hope they do another one, too. I really like Christmas stuff (it's not just the presents, it the time of year. I kinda feel nostalgic playing/displaying these sets) and, once I finish building the town with this post office set, I would buy the train, some track and MOC and train station, complete with trees and lights. Ah, I wish it was Christmastime instead of regularly being 100+ degrees...
