    More details...
    ©2010 LEGO Group

There's no doubting that the Imperial Shuttle is a nice model, but at £245, it's a bit on the expensive side, particularly when compared with the price in the USA.

Well it seems LEGO has recognised this too because it's now reduced the price to £183.99, which is a reduction of 25%. Still expensive, but a bit more palatable. It's not appearing as a sale price on the site so it does seem as if it's a 'readjustment'.

I might even be tempted to buy it myself at that price. If you are too, here's a direct link to it at shop.LEGO.com.

Thanks to OllieL for the news, who also states that 'there is free shipping September 1st-18th and orders over £50 get an extra 50 VIP points so if you buy the Imperial Shuttle you get £10 worth of VIP points off your next purchase.'

The US price appears to have remained the same, at $259.

Update: Did the 'Brickset effect' strike again? Within hours of this article being published the price jumped back up to £245. I hope some of you were lucky enough to get your order in beforehand. I wasn't!

This is what I've been waiting for, thanks for the news!

Posted by OllieL in United Kingdom, 01 Sep 2011 09:46

Some other news i've found out is that when you buy some of the other UCS sets you get free key chains. Also for those that have the latest lego catalog you can see the new 2012 TIE fighter on the front.

.....$449.99 in australia

Posted by bodybomb3 in United Kingdom, 01 Sep 2011 10:14

Incredible! I was going to have to get this from America for a discount as I'm getting it for X-mas. @OllieL - I was excited to see that too plus my Lego Catalogue didn't come in its usual plastic packaging. I'm guessing to be more green but that means our catalogues are going to arrive in a worse condition :(

Posted by avacadoturban in United Kingdom, 01 Sep 2011 10:35

Outstanding! I thought that I'd never be able to afford this set, but at £183-99 (minus £20's worth of VIP points, plus free shipping = £163-99) I've just ordered one!

This ship was incredibly iconic (at least it made an impression on me) that I purchased the original LEGO release, but sadly it got sat-on and destroyed (this was before my "It's probably a good idea to keep the instructions" days).

Buy it now before it gets put back up in price (although hopefully this isn't a pricing error), or pulled to make room for the new SSD (which also needs to have ~25% knocked off the price, if you're listening LEGO).

@OllieL, I havent recieved the catalog for some reson do you know where i can find scanned images of the cover?

Posted by supersympa in Sweden, 01 Sep 2011 11:04

YES! i will be in london for work next week! i will get one!

Posted by goldfish in United Kingdom, 01 Sep 2011 11:13

I have literally just taken delivery of my new Death Star, not from an ebay seller in the far east of course (lol), but from the official lego site. I am therefore rather relieved they havn't just whacked 25% of that!

Not sure can push to this due to aformentioned £275 outlay, but I do have £25 VIP points, which makes this rather attractive. arghhh

Death Star is awesome by the way!

Posted by OllieL in United Kingdom, 01 Sep 2011 11:20

@bodybomb3 Yeah mine wasn't in the plastic packaging either.

@JonnyRonny I've managed to find a close up on a flickr members photos. I'm too lazy to scan or take a picture of it. http://www.flickr.com/photos/kimiduck/6102706286/

@goldfish Not that I want to ruin your purchase but you have missed out on some free magnet minifigures, free shipping and an extra 50 VIP points which is basically £2.50. Also I like your name :)

Posted by goldfish in United Kingdom, 01 Sep 2011 11:25

Thanks OllieL! Am ok on missing the gifts. I ordered about 3 weeks ago, but it was on back order, so I did get an alien conquest minifig free, but no magnets, free points or free delivery.

Update; Just looked in my porch and my new catalogue is sitting there! Not in cellophane this time. Very interesting that the Death Star is still showing, so clearly its going to be around for a while yet, but the UCS Shuttle is not in the book at all. I am very surprised at this to say it's so new. Star Wars gets most page time, including the front cover and inside first page pushing the new Falcon, and also a massive two page special on the new Super Star Destroyer.

At the price of £245, well I wouldn't get it, but now that it's £183.99, well now I would get it!

^ Never new i was gettin ripped off on my legos here in the uk that bad

Posted by bodybomb3 in United Kingdom, 01 Sep 2011 14:23

Just called up the Lego store and they said its not an instore offer currently so sorry to all the people that were going to buy from the store. If I were you order online! Just ordered one but its for X-mas :(

Posted by pantenkind in United States, 01 Sep 2011 15:37

At any price this is one of the best looking finished Star Wars Lego products out there. It is very clean and displays very well in any room. I have had mine for a while now but anyone thinking of getting it and are on the fence I would say jump. This is going to be one of those sets that skyrocket in price (Due to higher cost and less people justifying buying it) and once it does you will wish you forked over the cash.

Posted by willidge in United Kingdom, 01 Sep 2011 15:50

Hey guys its still saying that it cost £245.99 does anyone have any idea why ? :( let me know thanks :)

Posted by atkinsar in United Kingdom, 01 Sep 2011 16:11

Oh no, it's gone back up, before I had a chance to order it as well, fiddlesticks!! Wonder if it was a pricing mistake by TLG?

Posted by willidge in United Kingdom, 01 Sep 2011 16:19

@ atkinsar yeh it happened to me aswell :( hopefully it will go back down but unfortanely i doubt it .

Posted by goldfish in United Kingdom, 01 Sep 2011 16:48

I very nearly ordered this as well. Just when I thought Lego had decided to give something back to the adult fans... I should have known better!!!

Posted by bezetkace in Poland, 01 Sep 2011 16:58

Free SW magnets / keychains with SW Exclusives purchases!

Posted by avacadoturban in United Kingdom, 01 Sep 2011 17:08

Well, I've just checked my order via my VIP account, and it says 'Customer Services' under the progress heading. Apparently, that means that I've got to contact LEGO CS about my order (probably because this has turned out to be a pricing error).

So, I've sent them a nice email and will keep you all updated on what happens. Hopefully there won't be a problem and LEGO will honour the original order (as they've done in the past when similar pricing errors have happened).

Will keep you all updated!

Posted by goldfish in United Kingdom, 01 Sep 2011 17:37

avacadoturban - I am pretty certain under consumer law that if you have paid for an item and the payment is accepted on an advertised price, then the seller has an obligation to sell, as the contract was completed on payment.

I therefore suspect you will be ok. Good luck!

Posted by jonbuddy in United States, 01 Sep 2011 17:59

I already have 7166, I won't be getting this.

--Was the Deathstar always 274.99 in the UK?--

Everything else seems a lot closer to US dollars (number wise).

Posted by goldfish in United Kingdom, 01 Sep 2011 18:38

yes, as far as I am aware always £275 in the UK. Never seen any discounting either.

Posted by IndianaJones597 in United States, 01 Sep 2011 20:58

Still pretty pricey I'd say

Posted by scoopi68 in Australia, 02 Sep 2011 01:21

$499 Aussie dollars on shop.LEGO.com, no thanks. $250 US dollars on shop.LEGO.com current conversion = $249 Aussie dollars...lucky my sister is flying to the US in 2 weeks and she is happy to LEGO shop for me.

Posted by OllieL in United Kingdom, 02 Sep 2011 05:13

WOW I wasn't able to buy it in time and I was the one who reported the news :(

Posted by bodybomb3 in United Kingdom, 02 Sep 2011 05:27

YES I got it just in time!

Posted by Manco Fett in Australia, 02 Sep 2011 06:18

$449 in Australia....does anybody know why us Aussies are copping these outrageous prices!!!! I love Lego but everytime I buy a set I feel I'm being ripped off....

Posted by JonnyRonny in United Kingdom, 02 Sep 2011 07:00

I know its back to full price but need help deciding which to get, this or the death star hmmm please help

Posted by OllieL in United Kingdom, 02 Sep 2011 07:22

@JonnyRonny Death Star everytime. Better build, better figs, more playability and come on ITS THE DEATH STAR!

Posted by goldfish in United Kingdom, 02 Sep 2011 07:30

@JonnyRonny,

I had exactly the same decision to make a few weeks back. I went for the Death Star, for the following few reasons;

- Its been out for circa 3 years, so is likely to be deleted sooner rather than later. Given this fact, I didn't want to have a situation where I really wanted it, and I was looking on ebay at huge after market prices. I wouldnt be surprised to see this double in price for new sets once it is pulled from production.
- It has 20+ minfigs, so better playability if you have children, or even just for yourself!
- Its better value on price per brick.
- Its more of a traditional lego build, as the shuttle looks to have a little bit of technics influence to me

Either way I stil would like to get the Shuttle, but I think it will be about for a while longer for me to make the decision.

hope this helps!

Posted by JonnyRonny in United Kingdom, 02 Sep 2011 07:35

Thanks OllieL and goldfish so Death Star it is

Posted by JonnyRonny in United Kingdom, 02 Sep 2011 08:37

Hey i know it doesn't have anything to do with this but does anyone think that this ebay listing is genuine and not a scam

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150657430156&clk_rvr_id=261585114157&item=150657430156&lgeo=1&vectorid=229508

Posted by Brickfinger in New Zealand, 02 Sep 2011 08:55

JonnyRonny- Yes, almost certainly a scammer. Look at the feedback- 6 cent jewelry bags? Seriously?

There's been a lot of talk on Bricklink about this douche lately ( or someone pulling the same scam with beads).

Most if not all of the feedback is given the same day as the sale. So they're either teleporting the products or...

Posted by atkinsar in United Kingdom, 02 Sep 2011 08:56

^^ You're right, this is not the right place to ask this question. But in the interests of not seeing anyone get scammed, please don't go anywhere near that ebay listing, just look at the sellers history, what they have sold in the past, and consider that it should cost about £100 just to ship the Death Star from Hong Kong, never mind buy the set as well!

Posted by JonnyRonny in United Kingdom, 02 Sep 2011 08:57

yer thought it was a bit dodgy cheers guys
