Amazon.com bargain watch is live

  • Amazon.com bargain watch is live

The feed from Amazon.com is now up and running, thanks in part to DrDave, and the discounted sets page is live. There may be a few teething troubles during the first few days but I'll fix them if they happen: it's difficult to test the code other than on the live website (since I don't have an online test and development environment), so bear with me...

We are not anticipating a huge number of alerts because of the relatively static nature of the prices at Amazon.com, and the 30% threshold which we've set it at currently, but I guess we'll see...

Huw lego are going to hate u soon as theres no ur linking everyone to amazon and theres no lego banner on the homepage and is the user 'HUW'SDAUGHTER' your daughter???

Threre are plenty of 'buy now' links to LEGO. They don't care whether you buy from them or Amazon: it's all profit for them. And, yes that is my daughter.

@Huw: Put a LEGOShop.com banner anyway on the front page, what's the harm in doing so? :P It'll make LEGO happy. :P

^ I don't want to clutter the site up too much and it's largely redundant given the 'new at legoshop.com' contains links to there.

@Huw: The list of banners would look impressive. :P Look at the Brothers Brick: http://www.brothers-brick.com/ They only have TWO banners! We would have three!... :P We would have bragging rights!... :P Alright, not interested, right?... :P

@Huw - please be sure to bring "HUWBOT" to us Americans, too. :o)

Posted by DrDaveWatford in United Kingdom, 14 Sep 2011 17:07

^ I think you should rename it "DUBYABOT" for the US....

This benefits me a bit more.

There is a shop.lego.com banner on the homepage.

EDIT: HUWBOT! Ha Ha Ha!

@JKLaukkanen: Patience, young one. :P XD
