    This month there is a split between the European and North American Monthly Mini Model Build (MMMB) models - here in Europe we're getting a rather disappointing Acorn model, while 'across the pond' you get yet another Turkey model, for the 3rd year in a row. It looks like a nice model though, and the PDF instructions are available already ...

    The in-store build sessions run on the 1st Tuesday of the month in North America (i.e. yesterday) and the 1st Thursday of the month in Europe (i.e. tomorrow).

    The December model has also been announced - it's a little odd looking, but is meant to be the toy soldier character from The Nutcracker ballet.

    In other news, the November and December in-store calendars for the European stores are now available on-line:

    It doesn't look like the US or Canadian store pages have been updated yet; I'm sure it will happen in a day or two.

man i was just at lego yesterday getting the new post office set an some potc battle packs would have been cool to get the turkey but for spending 75 plus i got this cool x-mas box that you can come back an fill with bricks from dec to march thought that was pretty good deal.

Canada celebrates Thanksgiving in October, so a Turkey in November is a bit odd, but when the alternative is that rather plain acorn, I don't suppose any Canadians will mind.

The special pick a brick box - it's not clear to me whether it's just a cardboard box, or whether you get to fill it with bricks. The former would be rubbish, the latter pretty good. Although last time I looked, the PAB selection in the store near me was unexciting.

My daughter designed the acorn model for last years monthy mini-build contest. It didn't win but Lego liked it so much they asked if they could use it for Europe's November build since they don't have Thanksgiving like we do. She got the same prize as if she had won-$100 gift card and the entire year's collection of mini-builds! Thanks for posting the links to the European calendars...she is going to flip when she sees her model on there!!!

@richselby - The special pick-a-brick box is a box that you can bring back after December 25th to fill with bricks from the pick a brick wall. It's great for standard bricks because you can pack quite a few in the small box since it's square, unlike the cups that have rounded tapered sides. I think it's about 11 studs by 11 studs, about 9 bricks high.

@Husher180 - How really great for your daughter. Have you thought to call LEGO to see if they would send her copies of the European calendars for her "scrapbook"? Or having members of Brickset send her (or you) copies? I know I'd like to have the printed version of what I'd accomplished! How old is she?
