  • Please welcome Fuelbreak, our new Canadian correspondent.

A couple of weeks ago Daniel, aka fuelbreak, emailed to to ask why we didn't have more Canadian news. I explained that we're reliant on local news contributors to post it for us, so he kindly offered to become one. Here's what he says about himself:

"My name is Daniel and I am a 29 year old graduate student from University of British Columbia Canada in the field of Biochemistry and Management. I have collected LEGO since I was introduced to it at three years old. The themes I collect are Star Wars, Castle, Pirates, Western, Viking, Indiana Jones, Batman, Creator (modular builds), Harry Potter and the Minifigure Series.

"My LEGO pet peeves are stickers and reduced lego quality especially noticed on the minifigure series lines. Ole Kirk's (LEGO founder) motto was "DET-BEDSTE-ER IKKE-FOR-GODT", which  meant "only the best was good enough" and was a reminder never to skimp on quality. If I could change anything in the LEGO world it would be to make sure that this motto was upheld through and through.

"I am currently pursuing a career in dentistry but have always wished there were jobs with LEGO available in western Canada. My dream is that one day I would be able to work for LEGO in some fashion. I currently reside in Kelowna, BC, Canada.

"I am very happy to join the Brickset team."

So, please join me in welcoming Daniel to the team, and if you want more news from your country, well, you now know what to do!

Welcome Daniel! This is great news, I've been wishing for years that Brickset would have more Canadian content. I'm not sure if this is official yet or not, but I believe that the next Canadian Lego store is going to be in Vancouver. Your dream of working for Lego might come true sooner than you thought!

For those interested:

"DET-BEDSTE-ER IKKE-FOR-GODT" literally translated means "The best is not too good".
