they are more clearer

Cool! they make it truly good to look at.

Posted by mvila09 in United States, 23 Sep 2008 18:04

Finally!Better pics they look better then the ones on Brother Brick or Euro Brick.I think im gonna change my mind about not buying Power Miners. They look so clear.

Posted by Captin Rex in United States, 23 Sep 2008 18:05

Yeah , I saw them a cuple days ago. It helps us decide if there any good or not. I might get a fe of the smaller ones.

Posted by Gus263 in Brazil, 23 Sep 2008 18:11

I saw some good pics in Eurobricks. I don't liked the sets, the wheels looks too big and the drill too. Some sets have bionicle pieces, what makes them looks a bit odd to system sets. The color is like of the Exo-force set Chameleon Hunter, but this color scheme isn't too common on other themes, so it will not be so useful though it is nice.

Posted by Kulturkampf in United States, 23 Sep 2008 18:11

Got a link to em? All I can see is the very small picture by the news article...

Posted by Kulturkampf in United States, 23 Sep 2008 18:14

Oh found it, went to brickshelf. Nevermind :)

Posted by Mr. F in Canada, 23 Sep 2008 18:36

Now that I have seen better pics I think they look A LOT better. They look very buyable and I actually LIKE the blue helmets. This could work...

Posted by legolegend88, 23 Sep 2008 19:41

Well not bad it make me feel bad for trashing it earlier. I still hate the color scheme though and those rock monsters are small. I'll probably get the drill but thats all.

Posted by Nermal in United States, 23 Sep 2008 19:43

I'm in for the blue helmets. That big drill one looks kinda cool, actually. If any, I'd get that.

Posted by hustla187 in United States, 23 Sep 2008 19:53

Blue helmets will be a rare piece but I won't buy the sets.

Posted by Mr. F in Canada, 23 Sep 2008 20:21

I'll probably get the drill, the two tractors, and that large vehicle.

Posted by x-lego-x in Canada, 23 Sep 2008 21:05

I REALY dislike the pieces used for the drill/wheels/blades, they don't look like something I'd ever use in any of my models. And to add to that, while the green color is good for these sets, it wouldn't be very usefull in many other models.

I might buy ONE, just to get one of the blue helmets/figs, but that's it.

Posted by legolegend88, 23 Sep 2008 21:26

I think that there are to many big pieces that take up the whole set like the drills, blades, and armor. Whats up with the rock monsters they are so small.

Posted by asianlego in United States, 23 Sep 2008 21:50

I agree with legolegend88 about the big pieces, pieces keep getting bigger and bigger and more useless to other creations. What is this, Mega Bloks? And also Power Miners if you look at it uses too many Technic pieces. Where are the good old days of Lego?

Posted by Brickmeister1138 in United States, 23 Sep 2008 22:45

I must say that they look quite nice. My only problem is the red.
P.S. I don't know, you could probably make preety good construction tunnel driller for roads or subways out of these sets. I may do some hybrid trains/power miners MOCs with these.
I also like the new rock monsters, they look like somthing out of Star Trek.

Posted by water jedi 17 in United States, 23 Sep 2008 22:47

I agree about the huge pieces and I don't like any of the sets. The largest set seems to have something I never expected:a rock monster launcher(has lego lost their creativity?)I also noticed that the power miners have no base like the rock raiders did.All the sets are drilling vehicles, anybody else notice that?

Posted by orange_808 in United States, 23 Sep 2008 22:51

I kinda like the drilling one now that i see a clearer picture. To bad the drill peices were not cromed though. =(

Posted by Brickmeister1138 in United States, 23 Sep 2008 22:52

In reality, a giant drill bit that was shiny would stay that way for about 10.34 seconds of drilling, and then it would dull and get scratched and covered in the dust from the rocks it was just drilling.

Posted by Nermal in United States, 23 Sep 2008 22:55

I'm sold on the Orange motorbike. That piece looks cool.

Posted by Brickmeister1138 in United States, 23 Sep 2008 23:01

I thought it was Red.?

Posted by Cashcleaner in Canada, 24 Sep 2008 03:04

Ouch! Owww owww owww owww!!!! Seriously, please! Make it stop. The bright green bricks are burning holes in my retinas.

Posted by legolegend88, 24 Sep 2008 07:56

ok good for you.

Posted by Trandoshan in Canada, 24 Sep 2008 08:04

OH dear is right i don't really like the look of them now,
i might get some of the smaller ones.

Posted by dragon_teenager in United States, 24 Sep 2008 09:23

I'll get one or two for the parts. But I'm very disappointed. This theme could have been so much better.

Posted by ngclarkiv in United States, 24 Sep 2008 10:40

Yeah it could have been better. Its not going to beat the ol rock raiders.

Posted by krysto2002 in United States, 24 Sep 2008 15:06

well..... they're better...
Okay, I admit the larger image is good but what I saw scared me. The drill was uber-big and the vehicle was bulky, and the rock monster... UGLY! Either way, they may still be preliminary images and still under construction (perhaps there is still a chance that LEGO doesn't totally ruin Rock Raiders).

Posted by Jon_Brick in Canada, 24 Sep 2008 16:17

the golden age of lego was when every thing was blocky sure it looked farther from the real thing but you could rebuild it into something esle now every thing looks realistic but you can't build it into something else cause of all the custom bricks it sad

Posted by peppermintmecha in United Kingdom, 24 Sep 2008 16:41

I rather like them. I am loving the helmets, it would have been nice to have the old grey and brown ones back but blue is good too. The unusual green is nice, makes a change from all the white and grey of Star Wars any day. I think i will but some of this lego.
As for the "custom" parts, it takes just as much skill to include the "customs" in a MOC as it does to mkae plain bricks resemble something other than a blocky lump. =D

Posted by Smallsam99 in United States, 24 Sep 2008 17:14

The outfits and idea is cool and I would have gotten they but it's just that they look too juniorized to be lego. The rock raiders were better. Also the rock rock monsters look dumd, Rocky was way better and bigger.

Posted by Smallsam99 in United States, 24 Sep 2008 17:16

Also the vechicles look way too big, the only one I like is the big one with the razor blades the other are stupid espically the mech.

Posted by comandercody654 in United States, 24 Sep 2008 17:30

one of the monsters looks a little like clayface

Posted by legolegend88, 24 Sep 2008 17:52

I know and does any else notice that they are smaller than the originals.

Posted by jonbuddy in United States, 24 Sep 2008 20:53

I don't like them that much. The new monsters look ridiculous! Ridiculoysly BAD!

Posted by Trandoshan in Canada, 25 Sep 2008 06:29

I love the new monsters, if only they were brown to match the origanals

Posted by snoboarder31 in United States, 25 Sep 2008 12:29

I dunno, I think the new monsters are funny (in a good way). Besides, who knows? lego usually releases more than one line per theme. Maybe the next wave will be better.

Posted by dynamo in United States, 25 Sep 2008 17:05

I think the new monsters are kinnda cute(he he).

Posted by LEGOMaster1000 in United States, 25 Sep 2008 18:28

I just noticed something. The symbol looks exactly like the Rock Raiders symbol.

Posted by legolegend88, 25 Sep 2008 18:58

Dynamo you r freaking me out/

Posted by peppermintmecha in United Kingdom, 26 Sep 2008 15:37

Just a quick question... What are "Single Use" elements? Are they Lego bricks that crumble to dust after you take them from their original model?
Or are they just parts that the majority of AFOLs dislike and refuse to try and use in their MOCs or just plain can't due to lack of imagination/creativity?

Posted by dragon_teenager in United States, 26 Sep 2008 19:00

The latter.

Posted by Captain in United States, 26 Sep 2008 20:09

Ugh. Why did they have to choose such a wretched color scheme? When you have a bright color like that, you balance it out with a darker color. For example, there are several transformers that have the very same lime green as these power miners. But instead of orange, the green was paired with dark purple. And you know what? It looked good. But no. Lego discontinues purple bricks, and then makes such an awful color choice. They should have stuck with something earthy with bright-ish accents, like the rock raider sets.

Posted by legonut72, 26 Sep 2008 20:25

the best picture is when we have one

Posted by Topsy Cret in Sweden, 27 Sep 2008 03:46

Well, I have to say, Rock Raiders also had a lot of large pieces so yeah... Anyway, the new scale of pieces in the sets show some promise for customs.

Posted by snoboarder31 in United States, 27 Sep 2008 10:22

why is everyone being so harsh? If you don't like them, don't buy them. The sets that don't do well get discontinued.

Posted by legolegend88, 27 Sep 2008 10:50

snoboarder31:were just giving are own opinion.

Posted by snoboarder31 in United States, 27 Sep 2008 17:46

okay, fair enough.

Posted by bountyhunter29, 28 Sep 2008 19:17

yuck.

Posted by BlackRabbit in Canada, 29 Sep 2008 23:32

best ones are the mech and the small tracked vehicle.the rest i dont have much to say about .they are kinda like exo force or racers in the way that its teccnic and regular bricks put together .and the bucket wheel on the big set does look nicley done

Posted by LSW_obsessed in United States, 30 Sep 2008 00:10

i just like the helmets
they are awesome :)

Posted by Jim Java in United States, 03 Oct 2008 06:14

OK, I'm going to assume that the set is not actually using the yellow skinned minifigures, or the neon-green coloring on the vehicles.... Right?

Posted by peppermintmecha in United Kingdom, 03 Oct 2008 15:52

Yellow skinned minifigures are Lego, its the peach that are wrong. (not to start an argument or anything, just my opinion)
Why has everyone got such an issue with the colour scheme? Giant big excavation machiens are most often coloured in super bright shades of yellow and green (this has been pointed out before) plus Lego is a childs toy and children do like bright colours. It makes sense to use those shades for mining lego models. It looks like a really cool set with lots of elements that allows for successful combination of technic, new technic and traditional lego blocks in a rare colour. It will see the ressurection of some cool headgear. The only issue i have is the "stock" faces, most small themes had unique characters, but then again looking at the back catalogue there were many stock faces back when i was younger i just couldnt buy enough lego to notice it. Hohum, the uniforms look cool too.

Posted by legoguysw in United Kingdom, 04 Oct 2008 09:01

These look quite good, it's a shame i can't get many, if any at all, as i am saving up for the new Castle market place on EB.

Posted by lego12 in United States, 04 Oct 2008 11:03

Wow, these look....ummm....wierd.....sorry I haven't posted in a while! I'm glad to see some of you here!

Posted by popchik in United States, 06 Oct 2008 23:19

Hum... Im skeptic. There transitions between boinicle and real Lego are even more poorly done then mars mission. I might get the drill, it looks at lest half-way decent, and the big rig for nothing more then the orange bike. other then that, it's meh.

Posted by popchik in United States, 07 Oct 2008 01:04

Ok sorry for doble-posting, for all who want the orange bike but don't want to spend $70-upwards for a marginal set, there's a town set that has JUST an orange bike. so i take back what i said about getting the big'em.

Posted by bionicle101 in United States, 09 Oct 2008 20:30

I like them except for the monters

Posted by Brickmeister1138 in United States, 09 Oct 2008 21:38

I think that these sets would be perfect for large real life mioning and construction MODS. The miner's uniforms and helmets would also make a very good Star Wars-Style piolice uniform.

Posted by ARC170Dinofighter in Canada, 12 Oct 2008 16:56

These are better than I origonally thought. Maybe I will buy some- they could be easily morphed for Mars Mission. More miners, more aliens... this is looking up...

Posted by albero78 in Belgium, 16 Oct 2008 09:54

I don't like them. they seem old and too childish. I don't like the colour choice.

Posted by comandercody654 in United States, 17 Oct 2008 18:12
