Looks like the prices for Blue Batman ($80-$90) will be dropping rather dramatically shortly.

"Batwing Battle Over Gotham City" seems like a bit of mouth-full for a set name. If the set actually included a Gotham city building or two, then maybe the name would fit but seeing as it just includes two air vehicles I think "Batwing Battle" would have been a much better name :)

The only set out of these that I'd want to get is the Catwoman one, just to get a Batman minifigure!

The new Batmobile in set 6864 looks a bit odd, too stubby and oversimplified. I like the older one much better (not a big fan of the new orange Two-Face either). Apart from that, amazing!

You're right, they are pretty good...actually excellent. The Batcave is waaaaay lower than I thought. I figured they'd put a $99.99 on that.

im kind of disapionted in lego on these, i like that they are doing a super hero line with superman and stuff...but look at all the batman sets! it looks like they just took the old sets and tore off and slapped on some new parts and called it a new set O_O seriously though just look at 6863 compared to the older 7782 and 6864 to 7781, they are pretty much the same, the least they could have done is mix things up a bit and make a 2 face jet and a joker car or something instead of doing the exact same thing they already did!

I am VERY disapointed with these Batman sets. I have the ENTIRE Lego Batman collection and was hoping for some new sets. When I first saw the new Batcave a month or two ago, I was like, that's okay, it will look good to add to my other Batcave. But now I don't know. My shelves are already pretty full. I don't need knock-off sets (the old ones looked better). Come on Lego, be creative like you normally are!

On the other hand, that Superman set looks really good. I will be buying that one for sure.

These all seem like stubbier, slightly cheaper versions of the much more panache-filled older Batman sets. I see no reason to buy a tiny Batwing/Joker's helicopter when I have one that's five times cooler still sitting on my shelf from a few years ago. Similarly, when the last $10 Catwoman set came out it had a huge bat-dragster to go along with the motorcycle. A stoplight isn't going to seem like value-for-money in comparison, especially since $10 as a price point seems to have gone the way of the dodo. The tiny bank is a nice addition to the Batmobile set, but once again I'm not going to pay $50 to get a stubbier, dorkier Batmobile when I have the awesome older one already.

I think that LEGO has really squandered the potential of this as a first wave - hopefully we can vote with our wallets by getting that utterly awesome-looking (and non-Batman) Lex Luthor vs. Superman set, and maybe they'll realize that the DCU has way more to offer than endless rehashes of Batman sets. If we don't see an Aquaman figure by the end of next year I'll be sorely disappointed.

I like these new sets, as I do not have most of the past sets which were better. I wish instead of the guard in the Two-face set, it would be Commisioner Gordon. Speaking of that, I wish LEGO would have introduced characters from the video game into this line. The Superman set looks awesome, and as a whole I think the villians designs look a lot more menacing/gruesome. I think images of the brand new Riddler and Harley Quinn are on Brickipedia.

@legoDad42: I would think the Marvel sets would be the same price as these, because the two companies are rivals and would want everything equal so that neither company gets an advantage.

I'm going to have to agree with several others here, the sets with Catwoman, Joker and Two-Face are extremely close to the original 2006 sets. Especially the set with Joker, it's so close to a re-release of the original 7782 set. You have to look closely to see what's actually different.

Catwoman is largely still on her same purple motorcycle though with a slightly different look. Only the fact that Batman's sporting a jetpack chasing her and it looks like you've got a corner scene build is any reason I'd pick up that set.

Two-Face though is at least in a different vehicle and has a bank front he's ripping off and pulling out a safe from, much like Doc Ock from the Spiderman Bank Heist set.

It's only by close comparison of some of the iconic vehicles that you can see what's different. The Batcave, if it holds out at $69.99 will be far cheaper than the original Batcave at $89.99 (though it's far far cooler) and yeah, I'll add it to my collection for being different enough.

Overall, I'm disappointed in many ways to see so many of the Batman sets are rehashes of what they've already done.

The Superman vs Lex Luther set really has me excited and looking forward to adding it to my collection.

In all fairness though to young kids and teens who may not have been around or old enough when the original run of Batman came, this is an opportunity for them to get in and have some of these sets.

Does anyone know if there are going to be any spiderman sets? other than the lame Ben 10 like super heroes like things. I really hope to get a spiderman minifigure. (How come we havent seen any sets with the green lantern yet? (It is a shame that the Batman sets are like remakes of the 2006 versions. I probably won't get the batcave since I have the 2006 version. and I do agree that the batmobile looks chunky and stupid.)

I didn't understand the fanboy whining until I took a look back at the previous Batman sets.... and saw they were pretty much exactly the same (in set idea at least). Is safe to predict a penguin set with a robin submarine, and killer croc set with batboat up next?... :P

Why are the Batman sets so similar to what we've already seen?
The reason the sets that came out in 2006-08 are so expensive is when kids were buying the videogame, there were no sets on the shelves so prices rose dramatically. LEGO is only trying to give the kids (and honestly myself) what they want. Why should they be ridiculed for it? Okay, I suppose it's dissappointing if you already have a similar set, but if you had the money to spend on these, you could spend it Bricklinking the figures.

Why is Two-Face orange and purple?
That is his what he wore in his first comic book appearances. If you haven't seen Riddler yet, he's also in his little-known classic costume

Where did I get those prices?
They've been floating around EuroBricks for a while. I can't remember exactly where they were posted.

Why do these look so much worse than the last Batman sets? Why didn't they improve them?
Those are both opinions, and I agree with whoever said it in the case of Two-Face's car, but prefer the newer vehicles. Surely you don't mean that Joker's old helicopter is worse than this one- <http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20111007203538/lego/images/d/d9/Jokercopter.jpg -I never liked the look of the old Batwing too much, but this isn't worse Unless you don't think it would make sense that it is smaller AND in a smaller set. And lastly, the Batmobile. Have you seen a picture of the old one in comparison to Two-Face's truck? It was longer than the Penguin's limo, this one looks closer to city scale, which is better for kid's play.

Will there be a Spider-man figure?
LEGO already said that there will be. Doc-Ock too.

Where's the Tumbler?
We are supposedly getting sets based on The Dark Knight Rises in the Summer wave. That doesn't mean a Tumbler though.

Yeah, I'm not a DC fan personally, but it's sort of silly that there are four Batman sets and one set with Superman/Wonder Woman rolled in together. I suppose it's unlike that we'll get an Animal Man Minifig anytime soon, eh?

^^I agree with everything Berrybrick said. People need to be patient with this line as this will be a multi-year license that should provide us with many great minifigures to come.... I'm sure we'll be hearing the same complaints about Spider-Man when it comes out later this year, but I will be thankful to have the opportunity to collect all my super heroes.

It's a shame that they did not make the sets have the villians that were only see in Lego form in the lego batman video game. I was really hoping to get clayface,man-bat and the mad-hatter as minifigs.

slave2leia-to many similar colored transparent pieces look horrible together because of the angles the bricks are at. I don't think I'd say great.

The only people that have a real problem with this are those who HAVE the old Batman sets. The collector that MISSED or entered the hobby after the 2006 Batman sets don't care how much the new sets look like the old sets. (I for one, having no old Batman sets that would lose value from a total exact re-sissue of the old stuff would be thrilled to buy such re-issued sets.)

The elephant in the room here is every collector who has the old Batman stuff is obviously happy they own such valuable and sought after sets. I am guessing a lot of those owner don't like the thought of there very valuable and sought after sets are going to be... at little less sought after.

As a collector of LEGO who is an AFOL, I for one have no problems with them re-releasing similar styled sets as the first batch of LEGO Super Heroes from DC. For one obvious reason, everyone deserves to enjoy the Themes that those older sets were aiming for not just the uber ritch/priviledged elite.

They may be similar, they are however giving you a chance to get some decent Mini-Figures and Pieces in multiples. I wanted to get everything from 2006, but alas I only managed to get (on sale no less) the Batboat and the Catwoman Pursuit set. This past October I paid 5$ for a LEGO Joker Mini-Figure, but that wouldn't have stopped me from getting the set because the build is the real reason I collect LEGO. That of course and the fun that the sets offer up when you start playing/displaying them all together.

Even had I bought all of the original 2006 sets I'd still Support LEGO's endeavor with these new sets. They tried with Marvel and DC before and from what I saw they did a great job, but the market sort of proved difficult to break into without anything really driving the sets sales. The first batch of Batman sets from 2006 were clearenced out everywhere in my area, as far as I can recall. Nobody was buying them at the time because the game hadn't come out to help push the sales. At least that's how I observed it.

Now they're trying again, because they saw how in demand these sets later became, not to mention the game really helped drive up the demand for LEGO Batman/DC products. I'm hoping this means they might take on a sequel with the DC pantheon joining Batman, allowing for some fun and more varied gameplay.

I look forward to these new sets and can't wait to pick them up, yes even the Catwoman one, as this one includes blue suited Bats instead of the darker gray suit I already have. I just hope that they bring back Scarecrow, Poison Ivy and the other mini-figures in one form or another. Perhaps they could even make special Collectible Mini-Figure-like packs for the lesser known heroes and villains of the DC and Marvel Universes.

Who knows, perhaps this time next year we'll be hearing about the brand new Marvel vs. DC LEGO Game. Now that would be a real kicker.

I guess I never looked at it from the perspective of the Star Wars sets, that's a good point. But Lego seems to have been a let down ever since they released a great game like Lego Batman and then have no Lego sets on the store shelves to back it up. I have two copies of Lego Batman (DS and Wii) and I would have loved to have seen sets that were based off of the games with unique mini-figures. If this new line does move toward newer and fresher designs then I will enjoy that. I'll still give them my dollar vote for these sets, but it's kinda disapointing from a Lego fans perspective.

Also, I don't collect the Batman Lego sets to make money. If I were doing that, I would have bought 3 or 4 copies of each set when they were first released. I could care less if my sets are valuable or not. I LOVE my Batman sets.

Should be a incredibly popular series.
Looking at the larger, clean pics on Brickipedia...I noticed Two-Faces 'coin' (1x1 round tile) has some details on it. Wonder if it's printed or not. Sounds like a pain in the tuckuss if you have to apply a sticker here.

Overall, like some have said...if you missed out on the first 2006 run of Batman, then this is great to get these kits at great prices.
Superman, Wonder Woman vs. Luthor-Mech is the stand out to me. But I'm gonna' get 'em all!
