These sounded very interesting when they were first announced. Now that I've seen some images of these sets, I'm not all that impressed.

They OK. I'll probably buy them just for thee minifigures. Planets look weird.

Posted by BrickBob09 in United Kingdom, 20 Nov 2011 14:47

They look ok. Not as good as I was expecting though...
They'll look good on display though. This may be what they were designed for, seeing as they have the information plate/sticker.

u sure the planet is fully spherical, looks to me like the four studs are ther to make some kind of stand for the minikit, so the planet would sit as a dome

I wanna get these and the droid escape really bad I hope that they find pics of the set that queen amidala comes in

Hmm - so so. I'll probably only invest in these for the minifigures (Sebula anyone?). I'm thinking they'll be around the £7.50 price point (ie: rip off) like the Ninjago spinners. Hopefully they won't be the Chinese plastic though....

Since the onset of Minifigs Series 1, have been saying we could eventually look forward to boxes of licensed character minifigs. I think this may be as close as were are going to get. With LFL licensing fees Star Wars minifigs would be a $5 per pack (that would be $6 at TRU).

£7.50 ($11.95ish) may be optimistic. But is the most I will pay. At that price, I expect ALL mini figures to be unique and be at least equal to the creativity of the minifig series 1-7. I would like to see painted pants, new hair/hats and unique weapons at least on many occasions.

The issue I get here is the choice of planets. Naboo pilot and Sebulba are as irrelevant as possible. The tie interceptor on the other hand is great. However, if the US retail price is anything above 7.5 USD, I won't buy any .

Posted by CapnRex101 in United Kingdom, 20 Nov 2011 16:01

Nice, but a bit underwhelming.

Posted by vwong19 in United States, 20 Nov 2011 16:04

They look pretty cool. I'm going have to figure a way to hang these planets on my ceiling. Perhaps they'll make interesting ornaments for my X-mas tree next season.

Posted by itsaturkey in United States, 20 Nov 2011 16:07

I was expecting more but, oh well. If they were actually spheres I'd be more excited. I think Lego is trying to appeal to more people to mini sets by putting in a minifig.

Posted by legomaniac in United States, 20 Nov 2011 16:26

Looks awesome, the planets are bigger than I thought. I like the 2x2 windshield on the tie fighter.

Posted by Thomson & Thompson in Canada, 20 Nov 2011 18:03

I wonder how many they'll do? I won't get all of them. I can't wait for the Lobot one, though.

Posted by Firox 5000 in United Kingdom, 20 Nov 2011 18:30

The sets look ok, and quite small and compact. Sadly I expect they will be £7.50 at the cheapest and with the fairness of us-uk prices these days especially on licensed themes with each on being $9.99 us, we could see them being as much as £9.99 or even £10.49 in the uk sadly.

I also worry of the awesome battle packs jumping up in price because of these cheaper sets.

After looking close I can say that I will get the Death Star and Tatooine ( Forgive Spelling :) As they both have decent minifigs and Minisets. Plus I love the Death Star plate ;) The Naboo one has nothing of interest for me, the minifig is mediocre and the set is boring. Look forward to season two of these!

The Star Wars universe is large, but what are some other featured planets that they will come out with. My Star Wars knowledge is not that good although I enjoy watching the movies and collecting Lego Star Wars.

Posted by Thrund in United Kingdom, 20 Nov 2011 20:14

@nameloc and itsaturkey: If you look at the French site, the planets are spheres. They look to be in two parts (so you can use them as stands if you want) and they come with parts to use as a stand or for hanging them.

Posted by Thomson & Thompson in Canada, 20 Nov 2011 20:24

^^It is Sebulba.

Pricing: $9.99 USD / $12.99 CAD / £9.99 GBP. Pricey for a little bit of plastic, but worth it.

Posted by KillDeer in Canada, 20 Nov 2011 20:33

I might care more if there was a ship/character I liked. The new trilogy sucks.

Posted by itsaturkey in United States, 20 Nov 2011 22:38

Thrund- Ow wow, thanks! The planets look really awesome as full spherical. I love the Death Star even more now.
(P.S. Does the Tatooine one hint for a Christmas Decoration? :P

Posted by KillDeer in Canada, 21 Nov 2011 00:10

Any pictures of the planets open or does anyone know how they connect?

Posted by yys4u in United States, 21 Nov 2011 02:30

Wasn't interested when I first heard of it because I was afraid the planet would be like a aplay set, now that I see it's more of a display I like it. Definately getting the DeathStar and I don't even collect SW LEGO. The rest suck though.

Posted by Orthobotrex in Philippines, 21 Nov 2011 09:25

AT LAST! I can own a LEGO Death Star! Har har har!

Posted by The Reviewer in United States, 21 Nov 2011 11:49

I wonder, since they are making a set with Lobot in it( I probably will get so I can have a flesh colored one) I wonderif they will make a new cloud city. I have heard rumors on youtube videos that have lego star wars sets rumor that there is going to be a Yoda's hut, a Cloud City and possibly a Jabba's Palace (Hope it's true)

Posted by EdwinJackson in Norway, 21 Nov 2011 14:10

Those planet orbs looks sweet. They make perfect Christmas tree ornaments.

Posted by Stoneway81511 in United States, 21 Nov 2011 16:27

Wow I was just looking for pictures of these yesterday... and I thought they would be minifig scale, not in micro scale. Still kinda cool,I guess...but not what I expected.

Posted by Nightshroud99 in Canada, 21 Nov 2011 18:29

^ A minifig scale planet, are you serious???

Posted by Thomson & Thompson in Canada, 21 Nov 2011 22:23

A minifig-scale planet would be the size of Australia. I think.

Posted by Sabreman64 in United Kingdom, 22 Nov 2011 16:16

The thing that concerns me a little about these sets is the packaging. As the planet parts stick out of the card boxes, will there be plastic bubble packaging to protect the planets from damage? If not, I can foresee a lot of scratched and damaged planets.

I think I'll be buying these though. I love Star Wars mini vehicles and the planet pieces are pretty neat. It's just a shame that the UK price (£9.99) is a bit of a rip-off compared with the US price ($9.99).

Posted by Zackula in United States, 22 Nov 2011 20:17

These planets could be useful as planets in a planetarium.

Posted by Odeinoichus in Canada, 22 Nov 2011 20:48

I personally like this, as it is a cheap alternative for getting the Sebulba Mini-Figure, as well as the Lobot one. Even at 12.99$ CND these are much more worth it in my opinion than the Ninjago Mini-Figures with the Spinjitsu spinners and the game cards because they have more than one function.

Personally, as a SW LEGO Collector I look forward to these sets arriving as they will allow me to not only have some nifty looking Minis, but cheap alternatives to get some characters in Mini-Figure form that I more than likely won't be able to own for a considerable time from the main sets.

Posted by Thomson & Thompson in Canada, 23 Nov 2011 08:47

^I agree completely.

Posted by itsaturkey in United States, 23 Nov 2011 16:24

I sorta' agree with Stoneway, I think it'd be cool if they released a larger play set style planet. Maybe it could fold out and the inside could be a brick pad for memorable scenes on those planets. For example the Tatooine one could have a fold out Desert pad, with bricks included to build a small portion of Mos Eisly. Similar to the racer sets with the fold out racing street. Ambitious, but still an interesting idea IMO. Then again, they'd be a 'bit' pricey :P

It is a smart move on Lego's part.
After Hasbro's lawsuit business over the magnets this is a great way for Lego to offer fans exclusive collector's figures without treading on Hasbro's toes.
However for this to work the figures would have to be unique to the set and they might run out of planets soon...

Posted by itsaturkey in United States, 24 Nov 2011 10:19

The Brick Life- Hasbro sued Lego? What is Hasbro doing with trademark laws with Star Wars? Trademarks get more confusing everyday :/

Posted by bill.berardi in United States, 28 Nov 2011 10:41

Anyone know when these will be released?
