    10155: Maersk Line Container Ship
    Advanced Models/Maersk, 2010
    More details...
    ©2010 LEGO Group

It's not often that we're able to tell you in advance of price reductions at shop.LEGO.com, particularly for something that's actually worth buying rather than the usual tat that's been found languishing at the back of the warehouse :-)

Anyway, from tomorrow, the 24th, the latest incarnation of the Maersk container ship will be approx. 30% off in all countries that LEGO ship to from Europe (i.e. all of Europe and AU/NZ). In the UK, it'll be reduced from £102 to a far more realistic £72.09.

If you don't already have this set, I highly recommend it. It's one of my favourites and one that I have had on permanent display since it was released in 2004. Not only does it look very cool once built, it also has a great selection of pieces in Maersk blue and dark red.

    Go buy it...

Thanks Huw.

I'll be buying tomorrow!

Worth waiting till fri for an extra 10% off if you spend over £100

Posted by LostInTranslation in United Kingdom, 23 Nov 2011 19:19

Thanks Huw. Do you know if this will be reduced in store too? I'm off to Bluewater on Friday!

Posted by DrDaveWatford in United Kingdom, 23 Nov 2011 19:30

Lovely set; I actually have the virtually identical previous incarnation (10152). It's the only place you'll get a decent amount of Maersk blue which is enough of a reason to buy it on it's own, and the completed model is superb, so if you've got the cash it's a no-brainer.

Incidentally, it's currently 00.28 and the set is still showing at the full RRP on UK S@H.... Great point from Sav about the extra 10% off over the Brick Friday weekend, however - that's a further £7 saving to spend on more LEGO !

Its showing at €69.93 for SAH France right now, but no sign of the second free Chirstmas set. I'm sorely tempted (even though I am trying to give up the buying habit - I actually didn't purchase 2 Hogwarts express at €56 each on amazon.fr the other day! Such strength!) I'm definately waiting for the 2nd Xmas set, so I'm guessing this boat will have sailed by then (Friday I presume)

Hmmm. I sent an e-mail to a colleague at one of our facilities in Guisborough. Hopefully, she'll be a dear and let me order one and ship to her attention (and can then courier it to me via interoffice mail). I missed out on getting this one when it was available in the US.

Posted by rocao in United States, 24 Nov 2011 02:06

Since its discontinued in the US, those in Europe where it's still available should be advised that this sale is likely the swansong for this set.

Posted by goldfish in United Kingdom, 24 Nov 2011 02:45

I have ordered. Hopefully the link from brickset worked and you got a tiny cut!

I would like to wait until tomorrow for the additional saving, but I have seen too many examples of good offers disappearing from lego shop on the day of other special events, so am not taking the chance.

I had £30 VIP vouchers, so this has cost me £42.99 with free shipping. Am very happy.

Posted by supersympa in Sweden, 24 Nov 2011 03:28

bought it last saturday at full price....:(

Bought anoter one now to average down :)

Posted by BrianOg in France, 24 Nov 2011 03:39

Ok so the second exclusive Xmas set is coming up as available as of tomorrow. Lets see if the boat is still available...

Posted by streeker in France, 24 Nov 2011 04:17

Can confirm that German and French Shop@home will receive only the second Holiday set with 75 euro purchase from the 25th. There is no free shipping, no additional discounts that UK Shop@home enjoys.

Posted by stagus in United Kingdom, 24 Nov 2011 04:26

Just bought using my VIP's. Didn't want to risk waiting until tomorrow where I will be ordering something else, just don't know quite what yet!

Posted by atkinsar in United Kingdom, 24 Nov 2011 07:33

So is this the only real set discounted during Black Friday in the UK? The US has loads of decent discounts on exclusives and we get just the one (even though it is a very nice set).

Posted by Nerd in United States, 24 Nov 2011 08:15

I'm going to guess that this is not in mini figure scale?

Posted by Thomson & Thompson in Canada, 24 Nov 2011 08:49

Great, but this set is sold out in the U.S. and Canada. I love it too.

Posted by princedraven in United Kingdom, 24 Nov 2011 09:20

Out of Stock on UK S@H!

Posted by princedraven in United Kingdom, 24 Nov 2011 09:47

^ Out of stock in Stratford too.

Posted by itsaturkey in United States, 24 Nov 2011 10:16

Will Lego be having a Black Friday sale? Also is there such a thing as wholesale Lego?

Posted by Veritas313 in United Kingdom, 24 Nov 2011 10:21

I bought this last weekend at £102 - does anyone know if a call to lego would result in a refund of the difference?

Posted by BrianOg in France, 24 Nov 2011 10:26

On S@H Fance now it says stock rupture, estimated sending date Dec 14th. And I thought that I had just saved €70.

Posted by Bricknation.com in United Kingdom, 24 Nov 2011 11:08

:( back to full price in the UK

Posted by princedraven in United Kingdom, 24 Nov 2011 11:23

^ not for me, still at £72.09!

Posted by BJMdotLEGO in United Kingdom, 24 Nov 2011 13:29

It looks nice, but looking at this parts list -- http://rebrickable.com/catalog/10155-1 -- I'm not that impressed.

Posted by jsutton in United Kingdom, 24 Nov 2011 13:37

The first release of this set was £54.99 in May 2004.

Posted by brickbuilder711 in United States, 24 Nov 2011 14:03

I suppose it's about time! 119.99 for a 74.99 set is outrageous, especially when people remember the old set.

Posted by CianD in Ireland, 24 Nov 2011 15:34

90.99 euro = 78 sterling for Ireland. I really wish they'd stop marking sets up so much here for S@H, Smyths often works out cheaper for the sets it sells (City, occasionally Trains, Ninjago, Heros and mainstream licenced, never anything odder than that)

Posted by Chompers in United Kingdom, 24 Nov 2011 19:08

10% Discount now working on S@H on £100+ spend, Maersk ordered due in to stock 17th Dec. Free Christmas set Part 2 also part of the deal & free delivery :)

Posted by DrDaveWatford in United Kingdom, 24 Nov 2011 19:30

^ Yep - I kind of expected the Maersk ship (and baubles) to sell out before the 10% kicked in, but all are still available to buy, so those that waited can get the reward for their patience !

Posted by 18000pieces in United States, 25 Nov 2011 00:43

I'm trying to find an answer to this everywhere I can - is anyone else experiencing a problem with shop.lego.com where every single product page lacks an "add to bag" button? Because I sure am, and it's driving me insane.

Posted by Chompers in United Kingdom, 25 Nov 2011 03:35

^^ Yes the finger was itching to push the purchase button all day yesterday. If it had not been for the the fact that I wanted the City advent and the 2/2 Christmas set, so near the £100 mark I guess I would have done it on seeing this great post :) thanks again Brickset
