New US Store in Nashville - Coming Spring 2012

  • New US Store in Nashville - Coming Spring 2012

Posted by bluemoose, 26 Nov 2011 10:04. Filed under Shopping (USA).

It's still a little while away, but when the Opry Mills Mall (Nashville, TN) reopens next spring, LEGO will be joining the retailers on the site. This will be the first Lego Brand Store in Tennessee.

The Opry Mills Mall closed as a result of damage caused by the May 2010 Tennessee Floods; there has been extensive rebuilding work, and the mall is due to officially reopen on 29th March 2012, with a Grand Reopening celebration planned for May 2012.

LEGO should start looking for staff for the new store in the next few months; if you're interested in applying, keep an eye on the 'LEGO Jobs' website, in the 'Retail Jobs' area, as that seems to be where they are first advertised.

Thanks to 'Gandalf1' for reminding us about this news; we were aware of it months ago, but it seemed like a very long way off at the time :-)

YYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!! Finally! I have been waiting four years for this! Actually, I am probably the biggest LEGO fan in TN, so this is going to be the best! OFF TOPIC: The floods were horrible, my creek is still effected by it! (Like, in a "the ground got washed out" way). And I was one of the people who told this news a long time ago.

I wish I still lived in Tennessee. I was half an hour away from Nashville. :(

Here come the sales taxes (10%) for those of you in TN. I know up until now TN residents were not charged sales tax on Lego purchases. With the B&M store in Nashville, all good things must come to an end. Unfortunately, overall Lego purchases in TN are now going to drop. :-(

^Actually, in customer support it says:

"All pricing is in US dollars. Sales taxes will be added to all orders shipping to the states of Arizona, Connecticut, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, TENNESSEE, Texas, Virginia, and Washington."

Do we have any hard evidence of this impending arrival? Other than this article that was originally posted back in June, I have heard very little (read, none) independent reporting on Lego's arrival.

Of course, I look forward to it coming but it feels like we should be getting more evidence of its arrival beyond an rehashed article from months ago.

Does anybody know anybody who actually knows anything?

Looking for corroboration before jumping in with both feet, and very much hoping that my negativity will be negated.
