I love the centurian and the highlander.

I still think the crash test dummy was awesome

Posted by mikes0000 in United States, 01 Dec 2011 17:54

As the founding member of the Lego Crash Test Dummy Lovers of America (LCTDLA), I will once again voice umbrage at your characterization of the collectible minifigure so beloved by so many. The Diver was the real loser of Series 1 and everyone knows it.

Oh yeah, and I think all the series 6 figures have some good qualities but obviously the Roman guard will be sought after for army building, similar to the Spartan.

Posted by MinifiguresPlus.com in United States, 01 Dec 2011 17:57

I'm betting on the Mechanic and the Flemenco Dancer being our so called "Crash Test Dummies" ... though the Deep Sea Diver was worse in my opinion.
hmm... Roman = Spartan

Posted by MinifiguresPlus.com in United States, 01 Dec 2011 18:00

Question:
Is LEGO buying out the custom sellers? I've seen a whole lot of near duplicates in these figures from the custom sellers have designed. (e.g. LA Bricks designed the helmet almost 100% like we now see the gladiator helmet. However, LA Bricks designed it first.)

Posted by MinifiguresPlus.com in United States, 01 Dec 2011 18:02

haha... now I look like a copy-cat. Sorry @mikes0000. I submitted 3 min later nearly the same opinion :/

Posted by LegoCity578 in United States, 01 Dec 2011 18:04

Wow, that came out sooner than expected.

Posted by Carnigee77 in United States, 01 Dec 2011 18:15

This series doesn't have any really bad ones. I'm interested to see the bandits face, and I love his low hanging belt. Almost everyone has a new hair/hat piece (or at least new color). Besides the obvious roman, I'm excited for the genie, and that new robot head piece. Correct me if I'm wrong, but are the robot and the Minotaur the first CMF not to have regular heads?

P.S. @Mike0000 How do I become a member of LCTDLA? :)

Posted by Ravenhook in Australia, 01 Dec 2011 18:18

Is it my imagination or is TLG putting new sets and items up on their web site earlier than they used to?

If so, perhaps they're adopting a Hollywood strategy for building anticipation. Tempting you to want something long before you can have it.

Well... it's working!

Posted by spency13 in United States, 01 Dec 2011 18:31

@mikes0000, I love my diver, as it is the first (and for a loooong time ONLY) CMF I got, but it is truly the real loser of S1, not the Crash Test Dummy.

Anyway, I actually love the bag colors, even though it's kind of plain. My 3 favs. of S6 are: Genie, Statue of Liberty, and Butcher. My 3 least favs. of S6 are: The Bandit (it IS kinda boring), the Flamenco Dancer (I don't know what I was expecting, but I had an image in my mind and the actual fig is disappointing, lol), and the Space Chick (I only like that hairpiece in blond.)

Did anyone else notice that in Bios it said several times about 'Lego Freedom of Imagination' and 'Ability to grant wishes with imagination'? It sounds like Lego is trying to emphasize that 'you can make whatever you want with imagination!'

Over all, I love this series. Good job, Lego!

Posted by krklint in United States, 01 Dec 2011 18:35

At first glance, I might be buying many of the surgeon and the robot! Love the transparent-blue xray tile with the surgeon... and the operating room mask too!

My personal guess, though, is that the bandit (due to the shirt graphics) and the robot (because it ROCKS) will be the ones everyone hunts down. Gotta admit, though, I might be stock piling some Intergalactic girls for my nieces. And the genie too... already have some modular build ideas for that jewel piece on the genie's headpiece :)

Posted by BJ21 in United Kingdom, 01 Dec 2011 18:45

The Roman is wearing armour almost identical to the set I made aged 7 from cardboard. I think that is a calling.

Overall, the series looks pretty good, but apart from the Roman, and maybe the Genie, none really scream 'Buy me!'. But kudos to TLG, they continue come up with strong designs even after 6 series, with only the odd skater/surfer/snowboarder blip.

Posted by Nightshroud99 in Canada, 01 Dec 2011 18:47

Flamenco dancer = Crash Test Dummy

Roman Soldier = Gladiator/elf

Posted by legoDad42 in United States, 01 Dec 2011 19:20

Good series overall...hard to pick a 'crash-test dummy'...maybe the Skater Girl(even though I like her skull with pink bow torso graphics) since we've seen too many skaters in my opinion.

The 'gladiator' seems like the Roman Soldier (love the helm and graphics on the shield-fairly accurate)...but it could be the Statue of Liberty (an icon statue made into a mini-fig is a first I believe).

- FLAMINCO DANCER...dress and torso grahics good for variety in custom figs.
- LEPRACHAUN....ahhh, not so great. I thought though he came with a small pot? I remember seeing that in other pics.
- GENIE...looks to be a stand-out fig. Love the leg piece and it fits so well with the genie-bottle.
- ALIEN...love the 'Gray' alien head even though the fig seems a bit plain. New color for the retro laser pistol.
- BANDIT...I love this guy. Black costume, cool graphics(lots of bullets!) and nice dark red mask. Looks cool.
- MINOTAUR...let's build a labyrinth!
- CELTIC WARRIOR....army build. But not crazy about this fig.
- ROMAN SOLDIER...good fig, nice shield, helm and torso graphics. Great for army builds obviously(!), moc's...could be the 'gladiator' fig. in the line.
- LADY LIBERTY...nice to moc an Ellis Island for her, Ghostbuster fans will like this fig...and it would be cool to make her a super-hero and use with the upcoming Marvel and DC line. Any comic fans out there remember Lady Liberty in 'Force of July'...;)
- WIND-UP ROBOT...love him! Reminds me of those tin toy robots from the '50's.
- SLEEPY HEAD KID...nice new Teddy Bear. Wonder if there's a duel face that's normal.
- SURGEON...love the x-ray tile.
- SKATER GIRL...like the graphics but too many skaters. After her, this should be enough already.
- MECHANIC...great for those town city auto shops. Gotta' love the doo-wop hair. New tool box element.
- BUTCHER...love the t-bone and clever.
- ASTRO-GIRL...cute and will definitely appeal to our female collector's out there.

I love the Highlander's accessories and printing, the Alien looks like a Stargate character, and the Centurion also has awesome printing and accessories.

I CAN'T WAIT FOR FOR SERIES 6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Dlakii in Australia, 01 Dec 2011 19:45

LEGO, I'm practically begging you now... please stop trying to bankrupt me with this fantastic stuff? Please?

Posted by Jdawg26 in Canada, 01 Dec 2011 19:51

Can't wait for these!!!!! This might be the best yet. The only one that's not for me is the alien.

Posted by copperwonder96 in United States, 01 Dec 2011 19:57

Wow, love them!
Roman = Spartan
Not really a crash test dummy but if I had to pick,
Alien = Crash test dummy (the head is kind of non "lego-e-y" to me)

I will KILL for the Romans!

Posted by yys4u in United States, 01 Dec 2011 20:02

The bandits printing rocks! How can you not like him!

Posted by jonbuddy in United States, 01 Dec 2011 20:06

The bandit is one of the best so far!

Posted by Krivorn in United States, 01 Dec 2011 20:22

What site sells these individually? Everyone keeps saying which ones they will get.

Posted by jinxjinx550 in United States, 01 Dec 2011 20:25

Well, I'm a girl and the space chick is my least favorite of this batch, along with the alien. I can't pick just two as my favorites, so I'm going with the Genie, the Statue, and the surgeon. Or maybe four, including the silver blockhead guy. Although I'm guessing that you guys are all correct -- the big seller will be the Roman soldier. And he DOES have an excellent shield. Well done, LEGO!

Posted by AddictedToStyrene in Australia, 01 Dec 2011 20:30

This looks like another good series. I am particularly pleased with the accessories - the mechanic's tool box and the meat cleaver are my favourite bits in this set.

Posted by DrDaveWatford in United Kingdom, 01 Dec 2011 20:32

Some real crackers here...... I admit to having CMF fatigue, but the quality is high enough that I'll be grabbing a full set of these anyway.

Posted by trickydicky0880 in United States, 01 Dec 2011 20:33

Gotta love the William Wallace mini fig.

Posted by trickydicky0880 in United States, 01 Dec 2011 20:34

Is there any way to get certain ones cheap or do you have to buy the little packages and hope you get the one you want?

Posted by ETAV8R in United States, 01 Dec 2011 20:51

Fingers will be sore again from all the bag fondling!

Posted by Hello_World! in United States, 01 Dec 2011 20:59

And I still need to get series 5!! They all look pretty good. I guess they thought the Space Man was lonely! lol

Posted by TooMuchLEGO in United States, 01 Dec 2011 21:23

Whoever thought of putting a genie in there is a GENIEous. Ha ha, do I get points for that one? :-)

Posted by tiberium_blue in United Kingdom, 01 Dec 2011 21:26

The skater girl at least has a nice torso and hairpiece. Favourites are the surgeon, sleepyhead and the butcher. Roman and celt are awesome too. I'm not keen on the minotaur, spacegirl and lady liberty.

Posted by SarahIsabella in United States, 01 Dec 2011 21:32

I loved the crash test dummy, unfortunately I never did come across one and there's no way I'm paying crazy prices to eBay sellers!
I also disagree with you about the bandit - I think he looks awesome.
To me the duds in this group are the alien and the intergalactic girl.
The ones I am most looking forward to are the Genie and the Statue of Liberty with the robot and surgeon close behind.
I hope they will be as easy to identify by feeling as Series 5 was.

Posted by skipper1011 in United States, 01 Dec 2011 22:35

I love the genie. By far the best fig in this series. Also in love with the Minotaur and Roman guy. Lady Liberty looks sweet. Am I the only one who thinks that the robot here is better than the one in Series 1? Surgeon's 'hat' looks a bit un-legoy :P

Posted by Thomson & Thompson in Canada, 01 Dec 2011 22:55

Wonder when they'll be for sale? Love the Genie.

Posted by grelb32 in United States, 01 Dec 2011 23:03

I don't normally collect the minifigs, but after seeing the Minotaur and the Butcher.... I might just have to go to eBay and get them..... I think the spacewoman and the dancer are the boring ones out of this lot......

By the way, I know this is off topic, but I was just on the Toys R Us website, and they've got a link selling the Batman and Two Face Superheroes set......
http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12326422&searchURL=false
It says it's not for sale online, but it does say it's available in stores....

Posted by AddictedToStyrene in Australia, 01 Dec 2011 23:13

@Trickydicky. People collect/hoard the figures and resell them on eBay and Bricklink. Initially you might pay a high price for them - maybe even double. But, after a few months, any remaining figures get cheaper. There are also guides available to the barcodes, 'spot' codes and even how different figures feel inside the packs. You might get some odd looks from shop staff as you stand there feeling the merchandise, though!

Posted by The Reviewer in United States, 01 Dec 2011 23:55

WHY is the Crash dummy considered the worst ever? The crash dummy is actually my facorited of series one. The Skater Girl and bandit Boring? Those are one of the ones I'am looking forward to the most.

Posted by The Reviewer in United States, 01 Dec 2011 23:58

Has anyone noticed that every other series one comes out early and the other comes out like the month it was supposed to be released. for example series 3 came out in early december and lasted in stores long. Series 4 came out in April exact and left shortly. Series 5 seemed to come out early and is still in stores in my area. and currently none of my local TRU or targets have series 6.

Posted by micano in United States, 02 Dec 2011 00:38

I think TLG is really starting to hit their stride with the CMFs. It's been fun to collect these but the rising prices concern me.

My absolutely "Must Haves": Genie (Gladiator of Set 6) and Clockwork Robot (the key is the best detail)

My other "must haves": Bandit (awesome details), Minotaur (a CMF Medusa would be tremendous), Celtic Warrior (if it had blue face paint it would be in the first category), Roman Soldier (a contubernium of these would be nice but costly), Lady Liberty, Surgeon (never got the nurse but she could hang out with the athletes)

Nice but wouldn't cry if I don't get them: Flamenco Dancer, Leprechaun, Mechanic (love the hair), Butcher (love the cleaver)

Probably won't get: Alien, Sleepyhead (my vote for Crash Test Dummy), Skater Girl (1 skater and 1 surfer were enough), Intergalactic Girl (although the Series 7 Space Commando-type guy looks spectacular)

Posted by BeardedCastleGuy in United States, 02 Dec 2011 00:40

Multiples desired:

Alien (X-Com Moc's will be MUCH more possible now)
Roman Warrior
Celtic Warrior
Minotaur

Meh 'fig's: (one for the collection is all)

Skater Girl
InterGalactic Girl
Leprechaun

The others are likely to be acquired in the two to four quantity range.

I'm all for having more female 'figs but really, more skaters (or surfers or skateboarders...)? My biggest knock against the leprechaun are the dang stubby legs.....

Posted by Firox 5000 in United Kingdom, 02 Dec 2011 02:55

The gladiators for me would have to be the new Spartan, genie and Minotaur while the flamenco dancer and and it are the test dummies.

Posted by Be-Burger in Israel, 02 Dec 2011 03:06

Spartan of Series 6: Roman Centurion
Diver of Series 6: Skater Girl

Posted by xccj in United States, 02 Dec 2011 03:08

The Statue of Liberty, Space Girl, and Genie are some of my favorites here. Really, this series doesn't seem to have the duds like some of the others had. My least favorites are the mechanic and butcher, but I wouldn't say those aren't desirable figs. Luckily, their availability is much greater, so odds are it won't be too hard for people to find the ones they want. :)

Posted by twentythree in United States, 02 Dec 2011 04:28

The Roman soldier is definitely the Spartan of this series. The flamenco dancer would be the deep sea diver.

The bandit is going to pair up great with the Series 2 cowboy for a good old western showdown. (Currently my cowboy is facing off against the Mariachi man)

The butcher will be set up with the gangster and the mechanic is going with the crash test dummy.

Posted by macmon in Philippines, 02 Dec 2011 04:57

Wow this will definitely be a good series set. It has a large collection of female minifigs. Kudos LEGO

Posted by Ben J in Germany, 02 Dec 2011 05:07

I think this is the best series yet. The only two figures that I don't care about are the skater girl and flamenco dancer.

But where is the Leprechaun's pot of gold?

Posted by Andhe in United Kingdom, 02 Dec 2011 05:21

^I'm pretty sure he has a pot in some other pictures (including the leaked ones from ages ago).

The true spartan/dummy deciding factor will be how many of each they put in the box. Romans are something people have desired for ages so would be nice to see a decent number in each box (unlike the spartan/elf).

The alien and flamenco dancer seem the plainest, and least useful parts-wise. But who would say no to a tonne of aliens?!

Series 5 came and went near me, but still seems to be a lot of series 4 hanging round (I'm guessing shops bought less series 5 after being left with leftover series 4), but mainly kimono girls and footballers.

Posted by Ben J in Germany, 02 Dec 2011 05:37

It would be odd if each figure came with one or two accessories, but the Leprechaun would come with nothing.

He looks a little lost without his pot of gold.

Posted by SilentMode in United Kingdom, 02 Dec 2011 06:43

Without a doubt the Legionnaire is going to be the most popular, but thankfully I don't do popular. The Alien and Skater are my top picks.

Posted by Delatron in United Kingdom, 02 Dec 2011 07:47

Lots of new parts in this series - the accessories are probably the best part for me. Butcher is must-have for the meat cleaver and steak, as is the mechanic for the toolbox and slicked-back quiff hair. Love the toy robot and genie and will want at least one of each fig in this set. Luckily it seems that Lego sorted out appropriate production runs of series 5 as they still have them in my supermarket and a few toy shops I go to, so I hope the same happens for 6 - no rush to get popular ones.

I think the 'diver' in this set (as he was worse than the CTD) is the girl skater. Three skaters in 6 series? Plus 2 snow-boarders and 2 surfers? someone on the design team likes board-sports.

The Spartan/Elf in this set should be the roman legionnaire.

Posted by UtarEmpire in United States, 02 Dec 2011 07:58

Finally, it's now possible to make Brennus, chieftain of the Senones. I want to be able to make a Minifig version of every world leader in the Civilization series.

Posted by voypro in United States, 02 Dec 2011 09:13

Elvis hair on the mechanic is cool.

What self respecting ALIEN leaves his ship without an Anal Probe

Posted by spency13 in United States, 02 Dec 2011 09:14

I think that having two of each sport figs, like the surfers and snowboarders, is nice actually. Also, does anyone else notice that in the official pics, the Leprechaun doesn't have a pot but in the leaked photos we got a few months ago he had a pot o' gold?.....

Posted by legomaniac in United States, 02 Dec 2011 09:36

I love almost all of these figures.

Defiantly gotta have the mechanic. As that is me, except the hair lol

Posted by meyerc13 in United States, 02 Dec 2011 10:33

For me, the weak ones are:
Leprechaun - Not many parts there to justify buying more than 1.
Lady Liberty - Again, why buy more than 1?
Clockwork Robot - One would be nice as a novelty, but I can't imagine a use for his parts.

The ones I must have several of:
Surgeon - My Hospital MOC needs some scrubs, x-rays, and surgical masks!
Butcher - Great uniform, hat, cleaver, and steak.
Mechanic - Love that Toolbox! Need some for my firetrucks, construction workers, etc.

Everything else falls in between... some I only want one but wouldn't mind two, others I want two but I'd be okay with one.

It's interesting to see that one person's favorites are another person's losers.

Posted by brix in United Kingdom, 02 Dec 2011 11:28

So the packet colour's white. hmmmm, not what I would have guessed or chosen and doesn't look all that appealing to me. Why start using boring colours like white when purple and red haven't been used yet?

Posted by grandbuilder2001 in United Kingdom, 02 Dec 2011 11:52

MMM... Series 6 mini-figs, MMM... Day 3 advent calendar (still don't have!!)

Posted by legobuilderstudios in United Kingdom, 02 Dec 2011 12:07

When they come out in stores I will hopefully be able to buy a few... or a lot.

Posted by Gregorovich in United Kingdom, 02 Dec 2011 12:17

Spacewoman is my favourite, but I hope her arms are the same colour as her torso. Her hair is lovely in blonde, and the helmet is nice in pink.

I also love the flamenco dancer, because of the dress and hair. The surgeon has a nice torso and face, but I hope it's double sided with a non-mask face. The statue will be good for Forest Goddesses or something like that. I like the Skater's hair and torso. I also like the sleepy head guy, he has a nice hairpiece.

Am I the only one who has no interest on the Roman? The bandit's kind of dull too. The Genie is nice, but I'm not a huge fan of the turban decoration, and I like the mechanic's hair but the rest isn't great. Although I don't really like a few, there's no real Divers (notice I never said Crash Test Dummy!) in this series.

I'll try to get all the females I think, but just so I can say I have all the female CMFs. Overall a nice series.

Posted by Matthew in United Kingdom, 02 Dec 2011 12:28

I'm really worried about how much I'll end up spending on these! On top of 1 of each, I'll want some for my Bricklink Store, an army of romans and an army of highlanders, and multiples of loads of them for parts....

Posted by Alemas in Germany, 02 Dec 2011 13:44

@LegoCoastGuard: Celtic Warrior, you mea- HANG ON, the name has changed! From "Celtic Warrior" to "Highland Battler"! I think some Scots complained about the name... :P Just like the Maori tribe complained about the names of the original Bionicle characters... :P

EDIT: Another change: The Alien! From "Alien" to "Classic Alien"!

Posted by Thomson & Thompson in Canada, 02 Dec 2011 14:14

Wonder what colour Series 7 will be?

Posted by mattpetersen in United States, 02 Dec 2011 14:18

I'm actually VERY excited for the Bandit, the reason being that I want to stage a Train Robbery using the Emerald Knight, the Bandit (or more than one), and the Cowboy (as the Sheriff).

And I can use the scarf and hat to make a custom minifig of The Shadow!!!

Posted by brixton in Canada, 02 Dec 2011 15:48

I agree with Dr. Watford. I am suffering from CMF fatigue as well but the quality of series 6 and 7 (in terms of the characters i.e. Celtic Warrior, Genie etc.) means I will be picking up a full set or close to a full set. I haven't made a decision on series 8. I will wait for photos.

Posted by CapnRex101 in United Kingdom, 02 Dec 2011 15:53

I quite like the bandit, looking forward to getting those black pistols.

Posted by Fire in United States, 02 Dec 2011 18:37

The Spartan/Elf of the series for me is the Minotaur, followed closely by the Alien (finally a proper version of an alien - a Roswellian, not a weird squid thing!). I think the Roman will be the one everyone will be hunting down though.

The Crash Test Dummy of the series is the Flamenco Dancer.

Overall I think it's a great series, and all the figures are pretty cool. The Flamenco Dancer, even though it's probably the worst of this bunch, is still better than the worst of the first few series (Dummy, Diver, Cop, Explorer, etc.).

Posted by The Reviewer in United States, 03 Dec 2011 01:18

Has anyone seen these in southern California? I'am dying do get these

Posted by itsaturkey in United States, 03 Dec 2011 11:12

I admit these look awesome, but I just can't convince myself to buy them with their lower quality plastic. (It's like that flesh colored skin for licensed themes, it's hard to mix with your collection :/ But I will get some of these as they are fantastic to say the least. And I guess I can swap the CM pieces I have for the ones that aren't special (Swap the CM blue pants for Denmark plastic blue pants) Then at least I get 50% genuine :)

Posted by spency13 in United States, 03 Dec 2011 19:12
