Posted by legomarine in United States, 02 Dec 2008 16:00

Posted by phazonix in United States, 02 Dec 2008 16:24

The 09' Racers and Pirates are also available at lego stores in CA (at least at Downtown Disney) The fold out Race tracks are 14.99, and range from 150-160 pieces I believe, I didn't really get a good look at them, also, the two creator sets, the Yellow Plane is twenty, and the green car is 12.99. Those were all I really saw there, but looks like 09's coming early!

Posted by phazonix in United States, 02 Dec 2008 16:26

the 09 racers are also on the lego shop website

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 02 Dec 2008 16:28

They are here -
http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Leaf.aspx?cn=554&d=70
but your country will need to be set to 'USA' or 'Canada' otherwise you'll get a "We're Sorry ..." error message.

There are currently 6 sets listed
- 6243 Brickbeard’s Bounty - US$99.99
- 6239 Cannon Battle - US$5.99

Some "new" sets always show up right after the free shipping sale ends, this has been going on for a few years.

They added the Farm folder but no Farm sets yet. Also two Construction sets are out, the $100ripoff and the dump truck.

Posted by Captin Rex in United States, 02 Dec 2008 19:09

Yeah I found the sets on the web site , but I got three of them at toysrus aready.

Posted by Roneck in United States, 02 Dec 2008 20:17

I noticed they havent released all the sets? I wonder why. Oh well, i already got all of them at toys r us.

Posted by dragon_teenager in United States, 02 Dec 2008 23:38

That pirate ship is way overpriced!

Posted by Smallsam99 in United States, 03 Dec 2008 06:06

yes, the pirates are out finally, but whatever happened to coming out in 2009?

Posted by Trandoshan in Canada, 03 Dec 2008 08:46

the begining of year sets mostly always get released in december of the previous year.

Posted by Trandoshan in Canada, 03 Dec 2008 08:54

The lego pirate building set is also available!

Posted by The_Best_Fighter, 03 Dec 2008 10:32

They come out in 2009 everywhere besides LEGO and TRU.

And the 2009 sets have seen a sharp increase in price. The last few years more stickers means more pieces. It was nice while it lasted. The horse trailer is 176 pieces for $23, no way that should have been more than $15-$20, all the Pirates are hugely overpriced. The dump truck has dozns of less pieces than the $15 cement and garage trucks and cost $15.

I will be buying a whole lot less come next year.

IN the UK shop, if you enter a promocode, you can now get the new 15% VAT cut, so it should make all UK prices a little cheaper (2.5%).

Posted by baconreffic4 in United States, 03 Dec 2008 16:37

wait i thought they were coming out in 2009

Posted by just2good in United States, 03 Dec 2008 18:43

Now they have pirates soldier fort on there! :D

Posted by just2good in United States, 03 Dec 2008 18:54

Also, they have new tiny turbos...

Posted by Mr. F in Canada, 03 Dec 2008 19:32

This is PERFECT timing because I am currently LOADED with leftover birthday money.

Posted by baconreffic4 in United States, 03 Dec 2008 19:35

i want them to have the shipwreck hideout set

Posted by baconreffic4 in United States, 03 Dec 2008 19:46

actually the ones in canada are more expensive

Posted by Mr. F in Canada, 03 Dec 2008 19:47

Yes, but for once the currency conversion seems reasonable.

Posted by hustla187 in United States, 03 Dec 2008 20:55

Let's hope these sets sell pretty good. I might get one but not sure which one.

Posted by Roneck in United States, 03 Dec 2008 23:10

is the pirate ship wreck hideout only gonna be avalaible for awhile? also hustla287, i recommend getting soldiers fort. out of all the sets (yes i have them all) it has the most imperial minigigs and is the best center peice to get if you cant afford brickbeards bounty. Alomost any set can be added to it. only downfall is that it could use more detail.

Posted by LastStand in Canada, 03 Dec 2008 23:41

FINALLY LEGO did something about the prices ! Canada prices have been cheaper now. YAY
For the $49.99 USD sets its now $64.99 CAD (NOT $69.99)
-$19.99 USD = 24.99 CAD

Rip off for USA buyers now for the pirate ship.
$99.99 USD = $119.99 CAD
The size and pricing should be
$89.99 USD = $119.99 CAD

Looks like they are shifting to the currency adjustment of $1.00 USD = $1.20 CAD. It is still a little higher for Candians.

However, the sets are now smaller. Look at the $19.99 USD sets. Its only 142 pieces. The price you pay should actually be 200 + pieces.

Soldiers fort has only 300+ pieces for $49.99
Should be around 400-600 pieces.

Kind of sad how the sets are so much more smaller for the prices we pay.

But i'm still really happy cause the prices in Canada have once again decreased from $1 USD = $1.50 CAD, then to $1.00 USD= $1.20 CAD.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH !!!!
Definaitley for loot island and soldier's fort.

Posted by baconreffic4 in United States, 04 Dec 2008 17:34

o sweat they have the new construction sets out but not all check them out

Posted by Mr. F in Canada, 04 Dec 2008 18:23

If they're up on Lego.com, then I hope they'll be out in stores by the weekend.

Posted by hustla187 in United States, 04 Dec 2008 18:31

Thanks Roneck. I'll look out for it.

Posted by baconreffic4 in United States, 04 Dec 2008 18:41

i want shipwreck hideout!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Smallsam99 in United States, 04 Dec 2008 19:57

Great sets and actually a good, decent remake of pirates but the only letdown is lack of sets(just at the moment)and piece count because I really wish they had more pieces and were bigger for the price but with this dumb inflation, nothing costs what it should anymore!

Posted by Trandoshan in Canada, 05 Dec 2008 08:57

Yay soldier fort at canada shop at home!

Posted by bmwlego in United States, 06 Dec 2008 07:00

Smallsam99
I agree that the sets are expensive this year, and this is definitely tru with the Pirates theme. The piece count has gone down while the set price has gone up or stayed the same. Case in point, the green creator car from '09 has roughly 165 pieces. Last year's yellow creator car had roughly 210 pieces yet they both retail for $12.99! This is upsetting and leads me to believe that I won't be buying too many sets this year with my own money. Gifts and gift cards will have to do the trick for me this year.

I think that sometimes sets that are overpriced on LEGO.com, like the Pirates sets, are priced more appropriately at Walmart and other bargain stores when you buy them in-store. Same thing happens with hardcover books, so it wouldn't be too unreasonable to expect it this year.

Let's just hope for the best.

Posted by chrisdog121411 in United States, 06 Dec 2008 13:30

i think it is the economy because its so bad right know they had to do something with the price

Posted by Mr. F in Canada, 06 Dec 2008 14:11

I think I'm going down to take a walk down at my local mall later today. Who knows? ;)

Posted by The_Best_Fighter, 06 Dec 2008 14:13

The Tiny Turbos are neat, I like the $15 ones with the roads.

Posted by jonbuddy in United States, 06 Dec 2008 14:15

When will Castle Town Square be put up on Legoshop.com?!

Posted by littlelegoluke in United States, 06 Dec 2008 16:27

When will star wars come out?

Posted by jonbuddy in United States, 07 Dec 2008 18:12

It's official: Pirates '09 is Pirates '08. I suggest you change it Huw (unless you're already doing that).

Posted by The_Best_Fighter, 07 Dec 2008 20:06

It's official because you said so?

Pirates are 2009 sets, do you see them at Target or Walmart or any other store than TRU? No? That's because they are 2009 sets.

Posted by Brickmeister1138 in United States, 07 Dec 2008 20:30

Lego always gets the next years line out during the christmas beforehand, it allows we the lego fans to have somthing cool to spend our christmas money on! I think Target and Wal-Mart will get them soon enough. The ones in my town's lego sections are much akin to the scene of a tornado. Forsee I do, a restock in the near future.

Posted by Brickmeister1138 in United States, 07 Dec 2008 22:15

Double Post Apology again, I just found a TRU pamphlet in my newspaper today and it has an add for the Lego Pirates Sets! I am so going there!!

Posted by Mr. F in Canada, 07 Dec 2008 22:33

I am heading there next weekend. My trip to the mall proved fruitless.

Posted by Brickmeister1138 in United States, 07 Dec 2008 22:37

Wal-Mart, Kay-Bee Toys, TRU, Target or Other Mr. F?

Posted by LegoMan128 in United States, 08 Dec 2008 10:07

Those sets are gunna sell fast, i ordered mine from the lego imagination center in florida and they only had 1 left after it was 10 minutes after they opened.

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 08 Dec 2008 12:31

The flyer at our Lego Store said the Castle Town Square would be available 1st/2nd week of January.

Posted by catman625 in United States, 08 Dec 2008 16:50

I can't wait for the new star wars and Indiana Jones. I hope they start showing pics of the new sets that currently are avalible to see

Posted by nath8888 in United States, 08 Dec 2008 17:34

Posted by Smallsam99 in United States, 08 Dec 2008 18:40

I am going to get more pirates but I really want to see the new pictures of space Pol. 3, indy, star, wars(especially), and city!

Posted by nath8888 in United States, 09 Dec 2008 19:26

I also really wanna see the lambo

Posted by Brickmeister1138 in United States, 10 Dec 2008 19:32

Lambo? What is a Lambo?

Posted by Nickds in United States, 10 Dec 2008 23:10

I just got back from Toys R Us, Pirate Ship 6243(Brickbeard's Bounty) was on sale for $84.99. It only showed at the register. I was able to apply a 20% off(one item) and a $10(entire purchase) off coupons to get it for $62.22. The Assistant Manager said they have a few items that are on sale but only show at register.

Hope others can get in on this deal.

Posted by Smallsam99 in United States, 11 Dec 2008 06:16

Where did you get a 20% off coupon for TRU?

Posted by Nickds in United States, 11 Dec 2008 14:41

It was a private mailing to it's card holders. 20% off one item on December 10th between 8-11pm only.

Posted by Mr. F in Canada, 11 Dec 2008 20:44

Shipwreck Hideout is now on lego.com!

Posted by d.c. gentry in United Kingdom, 13 Dec 2008 12:07

You lot in the US are so lucky! Here in the UK we'll have to wait and wait . . . and wait.

Posted by nath8888 in United States, 14 Dec 2008 09:51

brickmeister1138
a lambo is the slang term for a lamborghini, and in this case, the fabeled lego one that is suposed to come out.

Posted by Mr. F in Canada, 14 Dec 2008 13:30

I'm a tad annoyed that, despite Lego Pirates being available on the website and at retailers across the US, I haven't found it anywhere in Canada. If anyone here is Canadian like myself and has seen even a SINGLE '09 set, please speak up.

Posted by Slayton in Canada, 14 Dec 2008 17:34

For those in Canada,

Toys R Us Canada has listed 4 of the new pirates sets on their website, availability being Dec. 20. Who knows if they'll be in store then too. Of the four sets they have listed, they've only jacked up the price over Lego Shop at Home on one set so far.

Brickbeard's Bounty - $119.99
Soldier's Fort - $64.99
Loot Island - $24.99
Kraken Attackin' - $14.99 ($11.99 on Shop@Home)

Posted by Mr. F in Canada, 14 Dec 2008 18:19

THANK YOU!

Posted by StormSworder in United Kingdom, 15 Dec 2008 04:27

Why not available in the UK? Are these sets US only? You can get some of them at Amazon UK but they're quite ridiculously over-priced. £129.99 for Brickbeard's Bounty! That must be about $200! What's going on?

Posted by Mr. F in Canada, 15 Dec 2008 11:17

I think they should be available in the UK by March. (Just guessing.) In my experience, sets available in one part of the world are usually available everywhere else in (at most) 4 months.

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 18 Dec 2008 17:38

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the TRU...they're back at it. TRU just marked up all their 2009 Star Wars and Pirates. They are even trying to sell Impulse sets for $6.99!?!?

Posted by Captin Rex in United States, 30 Dec 2008 20:00

Pirates sets are out at wal-mart.
