Advent day 15

Day 15I'm sorry that I've posted this earlier than usual today: I'm off out with my work colleagues for a few beverages and a Christmas meal later on, so it's now or never :-)

After the disappointment of yesterday, the Star Wars calendar is back on track with this excellent rendition of a Republic Gunship from about 13 pieces. The model wouldn't have been possible without this old SNOT piece that first appeared in 1987 in Space sets. I thought it had fallen out of favour with set designers, but clearly it still has its uses.

Day 15In the City calendar we have a car chassis that I suspect will be added to tomorrow to make some sort of police car/buggy. Can't wait!

That chassis is boring. I guess it can be used as-is but come on. They could do better

16 and 17 will finish the car.

I find this odl SNOT piece very useful. I used to place it around most of my creations. It is either an engine, a camera or a deadly laser. Regarding the Republic Gunship - it is an excellent application of this piece and excellent design. I`m hope for a clone trooper tomorrow!!! I dont have a single one yet!

The SNOT piece was in the Republic Cruiser on Day 1 as well...

^ How have you managed to make it this long without a clone trooper!? They are only slightly less numerous than battle droids right now ;)

@ Jacob Wilson, on the back of the box and any promotional images it shows you the completed buggy ;)

My favourites so far are the Republic Cruiser from day 1, the Slave I from day 5, the Snowspeeder from day 12 and today's Gunship. The city advent calendar is not too bad, but last year's was better in my opinion.

I'm guessing the car will be an experimental model based around the idea of using toilet rolls as a biofuel?

...Come on, someone had to say it. I'm just saving everyone else from the humiliation of being responsible for this stuff.

Am I the only one that got an A-wing behind door #15? Pretty strange.

"Gone out of favor"? As far as I can see, it's "in" at the mo. I only have 1, and there's so many things I would like to replicate that use it. It is a very versatile piece.

This on is on of the better ones, along with the Slave 1, X-wing, and the Republic Cruiser.

@huntlll Definitely one of the harder ones to build in the bag, so far I've built all of them but haven't opened a single one!
