If you missed out on the calendar but want to have a go at building the mini-models using parts in your collection, Robert K has helpfully created PDF instructions showing the images on the backs of the windows which should make it much easier.

Thanks, Robert - useful to have that as a reference.

I didn't buy the calendar myself, but, oddly enough, my ICT teacher from 2 years ago got given it by some young nephews or something, and he was posting the pictures on Facebook as he went. Usually with his pictures and Brickset's, I could figure them out, but I still was wondering about some of these...especially the Millennium Falcon.

Missed out!??!? They're still scattered everywhere, go pick one up!!

Yesterday I picked up 7 calendars at wal-mart at the clearance price of $19.90. Further 3 of the boxes were pretty damaged and I pointed that out to a manager and he said "the most we can do is give you a 10% discount", so i got 3 for $17.90

With 8 mini-figs in the set, one totally unique and more two which were variants of already released minifigs I thought it was a good deal to by them for the mini-figs alone.

In searching for more SW advent calendars at the 3 others wal-marts in the area, I found several cars and pharaoh's quest sets at 50% off.

Lucky people in the US!

i got this calendar for my boys this year and while it was more expensive than the city or kingdoms calendar of the past years, i was very happy with it. The mini figures, the models, everything. I have saved all the doors of past calendars so that we could, in theory build them again, but the pieces and mini-figs have been scattered to the winds, so to speak. I'm not sure I'd ever need to get another Star Wars calendar again, unless it's updated or revamped, but this one was worth it. Bravo, Lego.

I got another one for $19 as well, totally worth it. This was an awesome calendar.

Haha I really lucked out I finally bought one and only for $7 ^_^

This is great, thanks Robert. I used to cut out the doors at the end of the calendar's life, but this saves me the trouble! :) good work!

I cut out the doors as well. What I really don't understand is why Lego doesn't include a printout like this with their calendars. Thank you for doing this!

Glad to help out how I can. I didn't want to keep the box or the small doors in a ziploc, so, scanning them seemed to be the easiest thing to do. (BTW, Robert K and cycoduck are the same)

These things are at every Wal Mart for $19. And they all have dozens upon dozens stacked.

Posted by lovaquero in United States, 05 Jan 2012 10:47

^ Not quite. There are 4 Walmarts within 25 miles of me, and only two of them have the Calendars. Maybe 10 boxes total. Both stores still have them listed at full price (39.99).

I asked the manager if he really expected them to sell, and he told me that it is up to each store to decide what to do.

Target is similar. 4 within 25 miles. 3 stores have them - 1 has them listed a t full price. One has them at 30% off and the other had them at 50% off (those are now in my posession).

TRU is still trying to sell them at $50 a pop... My local TRU has roughly 50 of them, all listed at 49.99. Go figure.

^ exactly, check all your stores and go again and again. Remember all these stores are getting 2012 Lego coming very soon and they need shelf space. Also, check all areas of the store, and ask management where their clearance merchandise is. Also, make sure scan the calendars on the "check price here" scanners, sometimes will scan for lower than the shelf sticker price.

If my wal-mart had dozens I would buy them all.

The WalMart here never had them. Thankfully the Target we visited whilst traveling did!
