    lemonadeHead on down to TRU on Saturday 4th Feb between 12-2 and, if you can fight off all the little girls, you'll be able to build this lemonade stand and get a free Stephanie (5000245) when you spend over $20 on Friends sets. More information on this mailshot.

Has anyone tried to get the free model at one of these events without bringing a child? I want one of these, but I don't have a child... :(

@Maya get pregnant fast?

Posted by ericjohn in United States, 02 Feb 2012 18:10

I was slightly worried that I also wouldn't be able to get this build even though when I walk into my local TRU everyone chants my name like when Norm entered the Cheers bar. The fine print does say that the item will only be given to participating children. It also says that it is "intended" for children five and up. Being that my Adah who has a nearly complete collection of Friends LEGO is only two, I went in to ask if they were strict on the five year thing. I was told that Adah could participate if I wanted her too. The five year think is a safety gaurd for the small LEGO pieces.

Long story short, stop in before Saturday or call to see if an adult "child" could participate.

Hahaha. I would be the world's most pathetic mother if I try to get pregnant just because I want this LEGO lemonade stand! ;) I guess I'll just call the four TRU locations in my area tomorrow and see if I can come build one for my "child" who can't come to the event.

Much like the FREE Pod Racer polybag with the Star Wars purchase,
my TRU was also offering the polybag "Stephanie" FREE with a $20 purchase at this time (you did not have to wait for the event)

Posted by Maya in United States, 02 Feb 2012 20:42

Zackula, why didn't I think of that? ;)

I already got that infamous dollar-per-piece Stephanie polybag set. What I want is the lemonade stand, which only kids will get to build and take home.

I wonder if it will eventually be available on bricklink or ebay.

ok, I have a child and I don't understand what is so special about this lemonade set...I am still debating should we go to the event or not. Is word "lemonade" a sticker or is it a special brick?

I'm bringing my 2 boys. Hope they don't say no to them.

Posted by starfire2 in United States, 03 Feb 2012 00:14

Also my husband found a picture of the backside of it on TRU's facebook page and it comes with an orange kitten.

I'll just say that I'm very tall for my age. "But you look 30!" "Well, I'm actually twelve. As for my beard, well, I developed early."

No need to worry. They do not care who builds it. At least in our TRU they even invited parents to build something too. Central MI.

If someone can get me one of these I would make it more than worth it for them?? Pm through my profile if you can help?? Thanks

Posted by Maya in United States, 03 Feb 2012 07:47

@starfire2
Is it a regular lego kitten or a Friends cat in orange? I hope it's the orange version of the Friends cat. I can't find the picture on facebook you mentioned.

@maximk
That's great to know! Thanks!

Posted by Matthew in United Kingdom, 03 Feb 2012 11:36

Is anyone able to also get one for me? As with collect_that above - I can make it more than worth your while. You can contact me through my profile or on the forum (@Matthew).

From the pick I saw, it was the Mrs. Norris cat. This was on the charities facebook page. On TRU's facebook page, they don't show a kitten in it.

Thanks, starfire2!

I just called my local TRU and asked them if it would be OK for an adult to participate in the event. I told them my niece couldn't come tomorrow. They said it would be fine (although rather reluctantly). :D

Posted by MorkMan in United States, 03 Feb 2012 16:35

I'll be there with my 2 sons and my wife and will definitely mention that my niece couldn't make it. I don't think I'll mention that my niece isn't even 1 year old yet - but she does like kittens! Anyone know how many sets they will have? My wife told me that they did a similar Thomas the Tank Engine promotion like this and there wasn't anyone even bothering to stop at the table - free stuff or not. We'll be there for sure.

Thanks for the photo! I think they should have added a transparent minifig head to attach to the bottom of the mug so you can have a pitcher of lemonade!

Just picked mine up, it also came with a separate bag containing two 2x4x3 blocks with a purple printing of butterflies and the phrase "Best Friends". The insert says item 6006139.

Just got home from TRU, my son and daughter both managed to get one. We also picked up Olivia's Tree House in order to get the free Stephanie, my daughter is now happily playing with her new lego's.

Just returned from my local TRU. The event seemed well organized, but other customers in the store seemed hesitant to build or confused as to what was going on. This was a much less chaotic than the Bricktober CARS event. I got two lemonade stands they work well in I my minifig layout. In addition to the lemonade stand and instructions; they had Lego Friends Valentines, a Friends mini-magazine, and special printed 2 brick set. The bricks are sealed in a polybag. They are printed both sides one side of each brick has Lego logo and the Friends logo, the other side of the bricks combine (like the Bricktober Duplos from a few years ago) to make a larger best friends print with butterflies. These bricks are not Duplo they are Lego, so that makes them cooler.

The TRU we went to had about 30 kids building within the first few minutes, the table was surrounded! They were also buying the Friends sets. City Park Cafe was sold out -- as several were looking for that set. Their stock was about half gone.

I've put images of the contents of the the entire promo, as well as the completed set, in a photo-set on Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/legomymamma/sets/72157629173803637/

I've also photographed all inside pages of the brochure (small magazine) which was included -- I'll add those pics to the set soon.

It was great to see so many girls in the LEGO and construction area of TRU :-)

Posted by voypro in United States, 04 Feb 2012 17:31

My boys each got a set, as did my wife and I. It was nearly 2pm and the promotion was about to end and they had plenty left (which i was told were to be shipped back to lego at the end of the event.)

For those who missed the event, my store did not pre-build the bags of pieces. Instead you got to walk around like an assembly line and take the pieces you need to build the set. The bricks "Best" and "Friend" bricks were paired in a separate polybag with no lego number but an notation Item: 6006139

Posted by MorkMan in United States, 04 Feb 2012 20:50

We went. Got three sets. Built one. Bagged two more. Me for my son and one for my neice. The associate was great and the entire build was fun. We were happy tat the whole LEGO section was fully stocked, but $80 for Olivia's House was way overpriced. Super fun day for all!

Posted by starfire2 in United States, 04 Feb 2012 21:02

My 2 boys got one each too. Our store had them pre bagged. There was only 3 other kids at the event. I was surprised.

I took my daughter to get the lemonade stand and we were going to get the a free Stephanie (5000245) but when we got to the checkout and i asked about it they looked for it but it turned out that they never got any so I ended up just buying her Stephanie’s Outdoor Bakery instead. :(
