Why are these offers given at TRU, is it to justify the ridiculous mark-up on items?

I have to warn all the bargain hunters that the turbo tank has been restricted to one per person at £102!

The offer sounds better than it actually is, too: You'd need to spend £19.99 to get a free one, since there is nothing available priced £15-£19.99, and the offer 'excludes multiple purchases of Anakin's Pod' so you can't buy 3 and get a 4th free, which, if it were possible, would probably be the best thing to do.

A US forum member kindly picked me up 3 of this polybag and even with the shipping it only came to less than £13! No thanks TRU!!

I was in TRU today and they have this offer in store I must admit I was not tempted its an awful representation of a pod racer!!

TRU in the states had this sale last week. It gave me a reason to grab the other planet sets I wanted.

There's a good chance TRU have a further offer soon (probably over half term) so it'll probably be a good idea to wait if you can.

Its on the signs outside TRU Southampton as I ambled towards the station this evening, not terribly inspiring but I got the 3367 Space Shuttle in John Lewis in WestQuay for less than £15.00 today!

It's all a bit rubbish, really - TRU didn't get into the spirit of the Christmas/New year sales at all, and this is certainly not nearly enough to entice any discerning LEGO fan through the door.

As Jabba says, we're overdue a decent promotion from them, and half term would be a logical time to do it....

So pull your finger out, TRU.

:-)

Looks like the kind of thing that should be given away with a newspaper. Where's Rupert Murdoch when you need him?

I havn't bought a single lego item from toysrus (UK) for several months. I am a gold card member as well. The sales in the past couple of months have been very poor, and virtually everything can be found much cheaper in other high street retailers, not to mention even cheaper again on-line. We are due a hard promotion soon, or putting it simply they are going to have a lot of old stock!
