    I Just noticed that Walmart has the most fantastic sale on two Pirates of the Caribbean sets.

    Both "The Mill" and "Cannibal Escape" are now 15 dollars each here in Canada. Brickset user Multani from the UK noted that he bought them as well for $16 each. Cannibal Escape sells regularly at lego.ca for 39.99. The Mill sells regularly at lego.ca for 49.99; this being the better offer by piece count. Let's hope to see more prices like these.

^ haha I wish! Well maybe it could come soon? I've been waiting to get these 2 sets for a while now...

Am I the only one who thinks that individual offers like these don't warrant a news entry?

^No

I believe Huw has mentioned a feature on Brickset that will allow you to screen out news from other countries ect..

Please feel free to use this feature.

In Canada we have very few if any clubs, We have no lego shows or Brick Con, We have a hand full of Lego stores nation wide. No actual Lego sales on amazon, and prices that on average are 30% higher then the US.

I know I dont speak for all Canadian users (and some international) but I feel most Canadians do appreciate a heads up on what few great Lego sales we get.

What do the rest of you think?

^ Definitely agree with fuelbreak. Like you said, few Lego branded stores, amazon.ca sucks, etc. Nice to see sales shown when they're found. I don't get bothered by seeing US or UK sales, i don't know why people would be bothered seeing the rare Canadian sale.

I can kind of confirm this: at my local WalMart (Ottawa-Gatineau region), I grabbed the Mill for $20 (last one) and for the same price, #7868 Mace Windu's Starfighter (that's 60% off), #7959 Geonosian Starfighter (50% off) and 2011 SW Advent Calendar (60% as well). The most incredible deal, in my opinion was on #8677 Ultimate Build Mater: $10 only!!! (75% off) -- but we already own it and paid $40 in June ;-\ There were tons of it, though.

Also got #8424 Mater's Spy Zone for $10 (50% off). Curiously, #8206 Tokyo Pit Stop, which is usually priced the same as Spy Zone ($20), was only reduced by $5.

Other than that, Atlantis set #7984 Deep Sea Raider was also 50% off ($20) and as previously reported, HP #4736 Freeing Dobby was $7 as well as #4865 The Forbidden Forest.

Where MrVx?

I was at the one in South Keys today and they had nothing.... for sale. Absolutely nothing marked down....

And BTW, i echo fuelbreak's sentiments.... If a periodic listing of sales in Canada might frustrate a user, i feel that user might have other issues to deal with *lol*. You can remove news specific to countries by modifying your news feeds. Simple as that.

my wal-mart has series 6 mini-figs at $1.97 each, (in central Kentucky)

@MrVx and CountrBoy
If either of you have heard of Mrs. Tiggy Winkles (since you're both from the Ottawa area) I thought you might be interested in their 35% off coupon. If you are just contact me via brickset.

There were three news postings on individual item offers within 12 hours. I enjoy heads up on offers like the next guy, but at that frequency, from every country? Well... bring it on.

I would have thought this is better suited to the forum. But I'm new. Just my opinion.

@fuelbreak

Our local WM's (Regina, SK) have had the Dobby and Forest sets for $5 ea. for a couple of weeks now. Not many are left as a result. As for the POTC sets, they've gone pretty quickly too, although the Cannibal set was still at $25 here.

The thing that gets me is the differences from store-to-store when it comes to pricing, that it's not always the same across the board. Superstore and Winners/Homesense seem to be the most stand-alone type stores.

As for clubs in the Great White North, I've been seeing more and more clubs popping up throughout the provinces: 2 in BC, 2 in Alberta, us in Sask., a number in Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes.

And let's not forget that BrickFete started up last year with a second year planned near as I know. Our club (SLUG: http://sasklegousersgroup.yolasite.com) is planning our own stand-alone show in the summer.

Post away! I love hearing about these sales, saves me driving all over the place.

Walmart will price match its stores across the board, you just need proof. Sometimes one store will be behind in the markdowns but the item is still on sale or will be. Most Canadian BIG chain stores maintain the same prices across the board. The only time they will not price match per say is their on-line prices.

Checked out two Edmonton Wal-Marts today. A couple clearance items, but no crazy POTC deals. I'm pretty happy with my $40 Mill from London Drugs (?) (!) a few weeks back. Picked up the Batcave and Batmobile sets on TRU's current 20% off sale, too.

@fuelbreak - I'm happy to have you post some. Like you say, we up here have fewer places to buy LEGO from, and fewer/less awesome sales. I read about Americans getting crazy discounts on great sets and I'm like, cool, I'll shoot for my 20% at TRU, the best we usually get. Then again, at least Canadian TRUs are MSRP, the mark-ups US TRUs seem to do make them more expensive sometimes!

@Dodge - I live in Edmonton, what LEGO clubs are in Alberta?

Posted by Dimefield in Canada, 05 Mar 2012 19:45

Checked a few Walmarts today and found no great deals either. Superstore had a pallet of Lego sets but no prices, it looked like they were reorganizing the shelf space so ill check back in day or so. Edmonton as well rnsrobot! The only clubs i know of are Northern and Southern Alberta LUG, and both of their websites are pretty stale looking.

Posted by tomcatt in Canada, 06 Mar 2012 19:45

SALUG's website: http://www.salugcalgary.com/
If you saw 'stale' you were probably looking at an old/wrong site. This is the current one. Not sure about NALUG.

That is a pretty sweet deal. :)

Few Weeks agon I bought many Sets in WM of Shawinigan, QC... 2 SW Advent Calendar for 5$ each - WHAT A DEAL !!! ; a Mace Windu Jedi Starfighter for 20$; PotC Sets : The MIll at 20$, Cannibal Escape for 15$ and Fountain of Youth for 10$; and most of all, a Geonesian Starfighter for 10$ !!! What I don't like with the WM Clearance, it's NEVER the same Price or almost from a Store to an another... Always depend of the City or the Area where it is...
