My sister is going to fall in love with this... She loves Lego Trains!
I think it's neat, but not worth my money.

They dont seem to have the power functions needed for the train as in the K10194 Package.

I've got mine on order... shame Lego didn't have all the new PF items up for pre-order as well (at least on the Australian portal) so that I could get everything I needed in the one order... now I've got to pay shipping all over again just to make my train move...

whats so special about this thing? i dont get it....

The new PF kit is now showing up on the new for 2009 but not ready for ordering just yet. In reading the description though the price of the rechargeable battery box may be partly due to the fact that it has its own built in speed regulator and on/off switch so it can be used independently of the remote control.

If you get it with Power Functions it's $220!!!!
Who the heck is going to pay $220 for a train?
I'd rather pay $30 more and get the Star Wars set that has 700 pieces more.

Bought two and cant wait to build it! By the way if anyone's seen the youtube flick, there is a mystery building at the back. I'm sure it's the next modular set. Has anyone got a sniff of what's coming?.....

train_nut - I love the giant black "?" covering over the new modular set. It appears to be about as large as the Green Grocer, but with a little extra height. I'd love to get some early shots of what's coming!

guys at the end ther is no ? cloth and theres nothing ther but air!

Not to stray off topic too much, but the red-hot rumour for the mystery set is a classic style fire-house... but we'll all have to take a "wait and see" approach to that.. :)

I saw Emerald Night in my LEGO Catalog a couple days ago. Great set. Greeaat set.

Ordered mine through the link today!

I think the mystery building might be a tavern or a old style bank.

Wasn't the point of the new system to make it cheaper than9V and be able to do more the RC?

Who has $200 for a train that doesn't include track?!

Has LEGO lost their minds?

Posted by CommanderBrick in United States, 31 Mar 2009 20:12

My brother is very excited for this. Don't get me wrong, It's cool, but not my thing.
BTW~ You can buy just the train for $100. To get the power functions and track with the train is $220? USD

I saw it in the catalog I got today! The train its self looks really cool and beautiful. I like the piston locomotive look and the furnace and the compartment that can open and the whole color scheme.

To make sure ppl get it: the TRAIN ITSELF costs "only" $99 for 1088 pieces so its not worse than a lot of stuff lego puts out. I mean its not cheap but its more like a christmas present thing. Don't you guys read what huw and grahame wrote or what?

Buy 2 of the trains (if you have the money) instead of the power functions or get those seperately or from other sets)! :P I mean its not like you will need ALL the power functions accessories unless you are 100% into trains (and yeah a lot of fancy electric trains are even more expensive than that :P)

I am getting this set for my birthday!!! This is a great set. The power functions system hopefully will work well.
