Another vendor joins the growing ranks and provides more set information

  • Another vendor joins the growing ranks and provides more set information

Chowren Toys, who bill themselves as the 'World's second biggest LEGO shop', has joined the growing number of vendors whose items are displayed on the set details pages. If you're in the USA you'll see their 1500+ products shown under the relevant 'For Sale' tabs.

What's more, they have provided us with some very useful information on product sizes, weights, LEGO item numbers and UPC barcodes for nearly every retail set available since 2007. You'll find this info shown on the set details pages (see this one for an example). Over time, the database admins will back fill this information for older sets, and at some point in the future I hope to be able to get everyone involved in entering data such as this into the database.

So welcome aboard guys, and thanks for the info!

Awesome! But where is this "For Sale" tab?

Under the set image.

I went and took a look at the site and the cost of the new items is equal to lego, but I have concerns about how expensive the older stuff is.

I have checked out the site many times in the past and they have a great selection but I always end up buying elsewhere for cheaper.

These guys sponsor our sites, so being upfront about that, however genuinely even before that relationship and when buying from them their customer service and packaging is fantastic, and for an Australian facing Lego's rip off sometimes $300 price hike on the death star for example, Chowren's USA pricing and low cost shipping saves me heaps.

Prob not relevant but "chowren" in Mandarin means "superman". :)

That explains the new sections on the set details page.

However, can anyone explain the unreleased Exo-Force set just added to the database?

Definitely do your research though, just browsing their site I saw the 7937 Train Station listed as "BRAND NEW, HARD TO FIND AND DISCONTINUED" for $110 but you can buy it of Lego.com today for $49.99.

With over 1000 brand new factory sealed LEGO sets to keep track human input error does happen. Thank you for bring the mistake on the 7937 to our attention, we certain do appreciate it!

We are just so grateful to everyone for visiting and making the effort to let us know what you think. Thank you everyone for your comments and feedbacks. We at Chowren Toys never advertised to have the cheapest prices. Our goal has always been to provide the LEGO community with the best selection of factory sealed LEGO and the most reliable customer service. We have been in the business for over 11 years and our 100% feedback on eBay can attest that our customers do feel they are getting value for their money.

Chowren in Mandarin does sound like "Superman" but that is not why we came up with the name. Our last name is Chow and ren means people / person. We always want to remind ourselves that any good business is about the people. Good business practice starts with treating our customers, our employees and everyone with respect and kindness. It was just an added bonus when we put the two words together it happened to resemble "Superman" in Mandarin. By the way, did we tell you we also sell Superman LEGO sets?

You sell to Italy?

Now my question is: what is the 'World's biggest LEGO shop'? This is the second I would like to take a look at the first! :)

^ shop.LEGO.com used to bill itself as that, but I don't think it does any more...

TRU Canada still bills itself as "Canadas Largest LEGO Retailer" or something along those lines.
