'Shirtless' Darth Maul polybag free at LEGOLAND Windsor

  • 'Shirtless' Darth Maul polybag free at LEGOLAND Windsor

Posted by Huw, 06 Apr 2012 13:03. Filed under Shopping (UK).

We've been told that the 'shirtless' Darth Maul minifig that was given to visitors of the LEGO stand at the NY toy fair is now being given away with purchases of £20 in the Star Wars shop at LEGOLAND Windsor.

This is sure to drive its value on the secondary market right down. I see some lots on eBay.co.uk are 'buy it now' for £90!

    (thanks richardh for the news)

Thanks for the update. I had been seeing a wide range of prices on Brinklink so I knew something was up, I just didn't know where everyone was getting them. Now I can wait be patient and save some money.

YES!!! I have wanted this figure so much! I know a guy who paid $280 for one of these on eBay last week, ouch...

This is great news although I wonder if it would turn out cheaper to just Bricklink Maul rather than pay for tickets to the park and spend £20 on Star Wars.

This a fantastic offer especially for pass holders. I'll have to get down there again soon.

If anyone in the U.S. is the owner of one of these figs and does not want one, I would be happy to trade or pay a reasonable price.

^^^ If you live nearby or are "passing" along the M4, you can buy a ticket, go to the shop to make your purchase and get a full ticket refund within half an hour. I tried this last year about an hour before closing and they just let me and the 2 kids in. Needless to say, we went on a few rides too.....

I would commit unspeakable acts to get my hands on one of these.......

Legoland Windsor will let you in on a 'Shopping only' ticket - Not sure if this extends to the Star Wars store, which is just outside the area classed as 'The Beginning' - You get an hour for free.

Typical! I was there a couple of weeks ago at the Star Wars event weekend and they go and pull this now.

I guess this is the "White Boba Fett" of 2012. It first is exclusive to the NY toy fair, and then it goes for crazy prices on ebay and then the UK gets it in a promotion. Hopefully Someone on amazon will sell it for a good price. (I even remember seing the White boba fett for $250 on amazon at first)

Too bad this isn't the May 4th promotion, I would have purchased via S@H at full price to get it. The facial expression is fantastic!

Has this been confirmed since I may go to LLW today if its true.

Posted by richardh in United Kingdom, 07 Apr 2012 05:09

Yes it is true. I was at Legoland Windsor on Thursday and the Darth Maul figures were moving at a brisk pace. The Guy on the desk said stocks were limited and once they were gone that was it! I suspect many were given out on Good Friday so there may be little, if any left.

Same message as clonetrooper02 really, if anyone is passing by or lives close I would be interested in somebody picking up a couple for me. Contact me here: http://www.brickset.com/profile/?CapnRex101 Thanks!

Same as the above, really. Would love to get my hands on a couple of these, to add to my collection. If anyone has a spare (or two) and would like to do some swapping, I have a load of polybags to choose from in trade (including a White Boba Fett!). Cheers....

As I haven't seen it mentioned elsewhere, Legoland CA gave away the polybags during Star Wars Weekend as a prize for some of their contests/raffle. http://california.legoland.com/en/plan/shows_and_events/star_wars_days/?month=4&year=2012

No idea if they also have a free with purchase promotion as I haven't been back since Star Wars Weekend.
