Yep, I'm planning to take advantage of that today... that is, if I can bribe my dad to drive me. :P I'm hoping to get some pieces for the giant starship I have in the works.

It thought it was a discount for online at 1st. I really need to read before reacting lol. Just ordered some parts yesterday

Nice deal if you got a LEGO store close by.

FYI - you were limited to 5 cups at my store, but the rules on promotions like this tend to vary by store so YMMV.

^--- and that is why I probably will not take advantage of this
1) LEGO stores tend to put out a lot of basic bricks and parts during these promotions (The selection during the paB holiday box redemption was iffy at best)
2)By the time I get up there any good PaB parts will probably be long gone by those who can afford to go to a LEGO store at 10am and fill up x amount of large cups

I wish they would not do this on a weekday, getting up to the LEGO store I usually go to on a weeknight is a pain

^ in their defense, they have a very limited list of parts which they can order from, and currently about 60% of those are unavailable when they order them.

Apparently late April is the one time of year when new items are added to the list, so the first few months of the year selection gets pretty low.

So, that's why I saw a guy with about 20 pick-a-brick cups today.

I hope this comes to the UK, btw is there a UK store calendar I can have a look at?

My Lego Store does not put out just basic bricks!! During the Holiday Pick a Brick, they had horses, barrels, palms and lots of other unique items. My guess is this promotion is to clear out the over-stock at the Lego Stores purchased for the Holiday Pick a Brick. I will be there tonight, even if it is basic bricks and only 5 cups.

My closet store is too far away to take advantage of the deal. Otherwise I'd jump on it.

^ Closet? XD Fix it, dude! Like the deal though. Good for VIP

The deal is real. Different stores have different ornate though. In Boston there are three stores within a 40 mile radius and they have a fair selection... Some with fences and horses, others with cupboards and boxes. Just depends.

While, I took advantage of this offer today at the Nashville store. I reused 2 large cups, but at the checkout, the cashier said I couldn't get the 50 cents off. But he gave me two more empty cups for free, so I don't really mind much.

^You back yet?

Posted by MorkMan in United States, 11 Apr 2012 15:55

Is this really a big savings? I don't know if it is worth the drive since I can't find the prices...

Posted by Gandalf1 in United States, 11 Apr 2012 15:56

^^^^Whoops! I meant "Well" not "While"

Posted by Doomtrool in United Kingdom, 11 Apr 2012 16:29

Thanks to this article, I was able to swing by the Lego Store in the Galleria today and get two large cups. Some really nice pieces, including a lot of dark trans-gray wide windshields, dark red medium wedge plates, and dark gray 2x2 crates. Well worth the trip; I'll be back later, though, for the real prize: a Super Star Destroyer!
