What! Why does the UK have to only pay 50. while we americans have to pay $75. so unfair.

^ here we go again! :)

sweeet
GBP50 is $80, today...

Posted by mission_zed in United Kingdom, 19 Apr 2012 12:26

^^ £50 is around $80 so it's the closest round figure.

Back on topic: I'm not a huge fan of SW so not interested in the obscure droid. Not interested in the mini Hulk mini as its completely inferior to the giant Hulk mini included with the sets. To be honest, I'd much prefer free shipping for a £30 order ...

lets see how many of these figures filter throw to ebay at stupid prices.

Are the shops to-the-penny strict on these things? If I bought a TIE Fighter for £49.99 would they be lovely enough to let me have the little shiny man?

Posted by Gandalf1 in United States, 19 Apr 2012 13:49

^Not that robots have genders exactly, but I think TC-14 is supposed to be female.

Also, I noticed that the calender doesn't seem to be, well, a calender. It just points out the highlights of the month without listing all the days. I guess it doesn't matter much, since a lot of the days are blank, anyway. But the US one is different.

^ that's because it isn't really a calendar anymore, it's a newsletter now.

^^ depends on the staff member, but, yes, they are supposed to be strict. £49.99 is not £50. Just pick up a keyring or a brick separator or a seasonal poly bag or a collectible minifig to make up the difference.

"Why does the UK have to ... pay £50 while we americans have to pay $75. So unfair" - you're absolutely right, it is unfair that the UK has to pay more for this offer. Thank you for noticing and acknowledging that fact.

Exactly you guys across the Pond are getting a better deal $75 works out at about £47. I'll be getting both :)

Posted by Dashofdashing in United Kingdom, 19 Apr 2012 14:18

Tc-14 is already getting bids of £30+ :o

Posted by wRuB in United Kingdom, 19 Apr 2012 14:34

Haha! I like @bluemoose's reply... Was thinking that myself. (cheered me up a bit as had a tough last half hr w my nearly 5yo son!)

I would have to do this online as I live no where near a store but I notice it states offer only valid while stocks last. Does anyone know if you find out for certain that you will receive the minifigure as you purchase online. I wouldn't usualy buy from the store as you can always find a better price but the Star wars TC14 figure would cost about £30 anyway so would make sense to spend a few quid more to get a £50 set

Posted by CapnRex101 in United Kingdom, 19 Apr 2012 17:19

Anyone from the US who complains about unfair distribution of exclusives or pricing, remember that you almost always pay about two thirds of the price people in the UK do.

I am looking forward to these two figures a lot. TC-14 is a great figure to have, droids are always useful for being background characters in MOCs and the Hulk Minifigure is also looking fantastic.

Posted by goldfish in United Kingdom, 19 Apr 2012 17:26

I am looking forward to the figures. The new hulk is infinately better than the big chunky duplo type one.

@mission_zed Not interested in the mini Hulk mini as its completely inferior to the giant Hulk mini included with the sets.

As some others have noted, some of us like minifigs rather than duplo style figures. So there is interest in the Hulk MFs. If you don't want either of them, don't buy during the promo periods.

Why do I get my money a week before the Hulk offer?!

Posted by legoyt in Australia, 22 Apr 2012 05:57

I do not even know if this offer is in Australia?

Posted by zjygkmatt in United States, 23 Apr 2012 04:16

I haven't made a trip to a store this whole month due to the fact that im saving my money for these.

Posted by zjygkmatt in United States, 23 Apr 2012 04:23

While we are on this subject, does a gift card count towards this? I have one for $40 (or $50, not sure which)

Posted by legoguysw in United Kingdom, 23 Apr 2012 13:58

Just wondering- if i were to buy a TIE, I'd have to buy something else small to get this, in order to reach the £50 mark. But it says that it must be a Star Wars purchase, so would both items need to be Star Wars? What's the cheapest Star Wars set available?

Posted by GothamConstructionCo in United Kingdom, 23 Apr 2012 15:54

^ A SW key ring or battle pack will both take you over the £50 ;o)
