First unwatermarked images of 2H2012 Star Wars

Grogall has done it again: he's uncovered the first unwatermarked images of the boxes of the second-half of 2012 Star Wars sets. You can see them all at Hoth Bricks.

Some of them excite me very much, particularly Jabba's Palace, but others are less interesting. However, as we know, LEGO will make them all essential purchases simply by including exclusive minifigs in each one.

They launch in August in Europe, although I suspect we could see them as early as June in some regions.

Wow, those are pretty sleek. I like the new Mando, I think he is the Mandalore (Leader of the Mando's) I also really like the skiff, a very clever battle pack...Unless it's 20$...*Sigh*

They're unwatermarked, but unfortunately not the hi-res that I think a lot of us are still waiting to see (though I imagine it won't be much longer now)

Jabba's Palace and the Skiff both look awesome. I am definitely going to pick both of those up!

The red ship is from the Old Republic MMO. A bit ugly, yes, but therefore we can blame the original game's designers, the LEGO version is accurate as it can be.

new jabba! i was given jabba's barge 6210 from a fellow teacher who's kid was in the dark ages. i'd love to add to the set.

Posted by dragon_teenager in United States, 26 Apr 2012 15:44

The skiff is great, and I love that large TIE-fighter-looking ship. If I hadn't budgeted for LotR so much, I'd be picking up a lot of these.

Holy smoke - I'm still flabbergasted that we're getting yet another identikit Jedi Starfighter. The rate we're going we'll eventually have one in every single LEGO colour. I quite like a couple of the Summer SW sets, but that Starfighter suggests a SERIOUS lack of imagination....

^ Yep.... another item to pick up on the clearance rack during x-mas.

Posted by Plasmodium in United Kingdom, 26 Apr 2012 16:03

Most of those look pretty good, but I do have a question to ask-who's the clone trooper-type chap in the Old Republic Starfighter?

Posted by eric.pedersen in United States, 26 Apr 2012 16:23

Well I know allot of people are upset by some of this years set and i suppose rightfully so. I'm a big collector of star ships and I think this is just the first gen of these. I expect to see at least one more of each. Ill get them just because they are along the lines of what I like but Based on colors i see some potential UCS sets and larger models in the future. Seams to be allot of red and gray. I don't play the games so I am not familiar with any capitol ships in them. Can anyone see what "may" be an option regarding the parts?

Ooooh! I can't wait! They should release them for May the 4th!!!!!

Posted by jonbuddy in United States, 26 Apr 2012 16:41

I want the skiff! I forsee a LEGO version of the Star Wars Robot Chicken Ep. 3 sketch.... XD

I have also posted City, Monster Fighters the one missing LotR set on EB!

@DrDaveWatford - It has a couple of cracking Minifigures though! The Pre Vizsla figure also looks superb as do most of the rest of them. The figure I am most excited for though has got to be Jabba, what fantastic detail!

I'm very happy with this years Star Wars sets, and I'm very glad to be buying some of these. Jabba's Palace and the Desert Skiff will fit in nicely with my Sail Barge, the Gungan Sub is a good addition to my Ep. I sets, and the Malevolence will look lovely with the Clone Wars sets. They all look great!

I don't get the complaint with Saesee Tinn's Starfighter, however. The whole cockpit is redesigned (and very goo-looking, IMO) and the wings look larger, and better plated. I really don't mind forking out the $30 for it. Plus, it does have two jedi minifigs, one being a whole new design.

Those images look great, can't wait for the skiff and palace. The Fury-class is fantastic, but I can't justify the price, at least not for myself.
Hoping official images of the planet sets come out soon.

Oh my goodness, a Lego Sarlacc!

Posted by Firox 5000 in United Kingdom, 27 Apr 2012 02:53

The deser skiff and Jabba's palace are absolutely superb,

The Gunan sub and Fury class are rather good but suspect will have rip off GDP prices I suspect.

Despite not having major new figures, I think malevolence is a nice designed ship.

The republic striker is nit a stand out ship but Saesse tins s a bit plain and also suspect it will be a rip off £29.99 GDP when it's a little bigger than the old one.

Still waiting on the Palpatine's Arrest set.

Again a nice find grogall.... seems the tunnel you digged to the secret Lego official pictures vault hasnt collapsed or been discovered yet.. ... Now grab that pickaxe, put on that helmet and continue digging for some series 8 pictures.... ;-)

Focussing mostly on OT when it comes to Star Wars, I guess I ll let pass most of this wave.
I will probably just get Jabbas palace, and maybe the skiff... Having the one that came with my sailbarge, I am on the fence, but there were 2 of them in the movie anyway, right? I am only a bit worried that the older figs will look a bit obsolete next to the new ones..

Though TLG seems to play the marketing trickcard of including exclusive minifigs in all sets again, for me that isnt enough to justify buying sets that for the rest dont appeal to me.

Posted by kurttkrueger in United Kingdom, 27 Apr 2012 05:58

I don't go in for buying Star Wars sets unless I see them at a very low price, despite being a huge Star Wars fan.
However, as an avid player of Star Wars: The Old Republic, I'll be picking up the Fury and the Republic Fighter ASAP.
Looking forward to getting them.

The Sith Fury-Class Interceptor is a must; hopefully it'll be put on a 3for2 offer so I can build up a Sith Trooper army for Malgus to command.

Would have loved pictures of the second Planet series and upcoming mini models too... Are they scheduled to come out at the same time?

Posted by Dashofdashing in United Kingdom, 27 Apr 2012 17:06

The desert skiff is probs too expensive for a battle pack it's coming up as £29.99 on TRU system. Palpatines arrest is an active line and presuming a TRU exclusive, that's also coming up as £79.99,TRU never put things on system that early if they haven't been confirmed do fingers crossed :)

New Jabba, Kowakian monkey lizzard, Oola, Darth Malgus and Amidala ftw!
(Yes, I'm a sucker for LEGO Star Wars set and minifigs since 1999. And will be untill the license finally ends! Whenever that may be.... ;-)

I have moaned quite a bit about recent line ups of re-hashed Star-Wars sets, but I'll give Lego credit here, this is the best seasonal line up for a few years in my book. Well done!!

Posted by The Reviewer in United States, 28 Apr 2012 11:33

When will the picture fo Palpatine's arrest be avaible? I hope it comes with a New Mace windu a Non-Clonewars Palpatine before he gets ugly, and maybe some new Jedi. (Please Lego, don't make this a stupid Clone wars set)

Posted by Dashofdashing in United Kingdom, 28 Apr 2012 15:16

Who knows about Palpatines set? They may unveil it at Lego Show in Manchester or even Comic Con. Tho they've announced figures for the Spiderman set but not had any pics of set yet. Hopefully soon :)
