(Updated) Echo Base and the Endor set can now be ordered from SOME European countries but while they were appearing as available earlier in the week for shipping to the UK, they have been removed from the UK shop website and Brickset readers in the UK have reported that they've been removed from their orders. What a cock-up... (Thanks to keithkram)

Posted by keithkram in United Kingdom, 02 Jun 2009 12:01

I have seen the new sets, but has anyone else noticed that all the old sets have gone up by at least 10% with some by 25% (8397 was £1.95, today itis £2.45).

Posted by GameOn99 in United States, 02 Jun 2009 12:04

This could mean indiana jones is on his way.

First ever tauntaun!!!

Posted by c.lee.r in United States, 02 Jun 2009 12:16

Nice to see these sets are coming out already. If they put out or two new star wars sets a month, i think that would be great.
Congradulations Europe on the new sets.

My wife is going to Europe next week. Guess what' she's bringing back for me? Woo-hoo!

Posted by space police fan in United States, 02 Jun 2009 14:38

I'm most likely going to get this when it comes out for the US.
Here are the main reasons:
a Taun-taun
Han Solo with hood
cool snow gear
new goggles

Posted by Pulpdiction in United Kingdom, 02 Jun 2009 15:26

Battle of Endor set is overpriced by 20-30%, dissapointing.

Posted by Zwing in United Kingdom, 02 Jun 2009 15:51

I hope the other summer 09 star wars set come soon. however these two sets are nice

Posted by iabstract in United States, 02 Jun 2009 15:55

All Star Wars sets are over-priced. It's a given. I'm guessing it's a combination of paying for the Lucas license and knowing they can milk fans.

Posted by clone commander trainrex in United States, 02 Jun 2009 16:02

Sounds fantastic. I hope pictures appear soon

You guys are so lucky, I want my Taun-Taun...

Posted by legocollector in United States, 02 Jun 2009 19:12

Why does TLC do that? I mean TLC releases all the new star wars sets in every other country, except the US? That is just not fair again. We have to wait later in the summer to order these sets. And TLC does not include any pictures of the set, yet your aloud to order it? Whats up with that?

Posted by stu241273 in United Kingdom, 02 Jun 2009 19:25

How am I supposed to afford all this lego? The sets are just too good to risk missing, so my rule about only buying lego when it is on special offer has now gone out of the window. Sorry credit card. I can't help it. I think this is officially called an addiction.

Posted by scholte23 in Australia, 02 Jun 2009 20:02

These sets are now also available in australia
Just wondering what everyone else thinks, The Echo Base says it comes with 5 minifigs (2 snow troopers with E-web blaster, 2 Rebel troopers and Han Solo in Hoth winter gear). I would also consider the Taun-Taun as a minifig.

Maybe one day lego will release a shield generator set to go with the echo base set

Posted by legobazooka in United Kingdom, 03 Jun 2009 14:43

Is anyone else still waiting for the power functions train accesory pack to be delivered? Mine was originally supposed to ship on the 16th April then got put back to the 2nd June but still hasn't shipped and the delivery date has not been revised. I also not the remote controller is no longer listed on S@H in the UK. I've phoned and e-mailed and now awaitng a response.

Posted by legoguysw in United Kingdom, 03 Jun 2009 15:48

The 2 above Star Wars sets are now removed from the UK S"H site. The venator is still up there tthough.

Posted by mutley777 in United Kingdom, 03 Jun 2009 15:55

That is very strange as i received a email today to say my Echo base and Endor had been shipped.

Posted by skipp in Netherlands, 03 Jun 2009 16:06

@LegoCollecter:

True, for once we get some sets early than you. therefor you get sets that we don't get, and they're much cheaper. I had to pay 100bucks more for the dropship than you guys have too.

Posted by legofanatic2414 in United States, 03 Jun 2009 21:42

I am SOOOO getting Battle of Endor Ive always wanted a Wicket and a Han Solo,Leia,Chewie,(new)r2-d2 WAHOO!

Posted by Kippy0001 in Germany, 04 Jun 2009 07:16

The Toys-R-Us here in Kaiserslautern Germany wants 99 euro for the endor set (they have 10 in stock). I think I'll wait and pick one up when I go back to the states...

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 04 Jun 2009 07:53

It looks as if these two sets have been pulled from the site: can anyone else find them, or have you managed to order them?

Posted by keithkram in United Kingdom, 04 Jun 2009 08:31

I ordered them, but am now having a row with lego as they are showing as not shipped on an order, they tell me they have them in stock, they are supposed to be phoning me back this afternoon as i placed an order by phone for some more, i think their new order system is messing everything up, they dont seem to know what is going on.

Posted by legobazooka in United Kingdom, 04 Jun 2009 09:50

See my post above about the power functions train accesory pack - I phoned about it yesterday and they couldn't get the information straigh away (heard some muttering about slow computer system) so said they would phone back still nothing so far - I have also e-mailed as well. If I don't get any joy I may consider digging the business card I have with jorgen's e-mail on. The main worry for me now is that the remote contol unit is not coming as available in the UK. Has anyone actually used this new kit, what was it like?

Posted by keithkram in United Kingdom, 04 Jun 2009 10:01

@legobazooka

copy of e-mail i had from lego re power functions for train

Dear LEGO customer,

With regard to your recent order through LEGO® Shop At Home.

We are currently out of stock of the 8879, Power Functions IR Speed Remote Control and, therefore, are unable to complete your order at this time. We are very sorry for the delay and inconvenience that this situation will cause and whilst we do anticipate that the item will be back in stock in August, we have the following solution for you.

We will keep your order as it is and send you a complimentary 8885 Power Functions IR Remote Control to get you started. This Remote Control will enable you to fully motorise your Emerald Night. However, we should make you aware that there are some limitations in comparison to the 8879. The alternative Remote Control will allow your train to run forward and backward on the track but does not have a speed control function. Of course, as soon as the 8879 is back in stock we will send this to you as well with no additional shipping charges.

There is no need to contact us; you will receive your order shortly. If this is not acceptable to you then please contact us on 00800 5346 2222 and any of our advisors will be happy to help.

Once again, we are very sorry for the disappointment that you may experience but we are sure that you will be happy with the alternative Remote Control.

Kind regards,

Posted by legobazooka in United Kingdom, 04 Jun 2009 10:16

Thanks for the info Keith - if i get a similar e-mail I will have to phone and see if i can get something else as I already have enough of the 8885 remote controllers. Whe did you plave your order? Mine went in on the 29th March with an original shipping date of 16th april which was then put back to 2nd june.

Posted by keithkram in United Kingdom, 04 Jun 2009 10:37

@legobazooka

I placed my order on 28th March with an original date of 16th April, one big mess.

New Star Wars Sets

Just spoken to Lego, they have them in the warehouse, but they are not allowed to sell them in UK and Denmark yet, so my order shipped without these sets. They have taken them off the web site for this reason. They dont know yet when we are allowed them, hopefully they will phone me tomorrow to let me know when we can have them, or if they can ship the ones that had been ordered. The stupid thing is they have thousands in the warehouse and can ship to other european countries, just not the UK.

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 04 Jun 2009 11:19

Thanks for that info Keith.

LEGO Star Wars

I placed my order on the 2nd of this month when I saw on Brickset that they were available. I only ordered the Echo Base set and have recieved an Invoice today confirming delivery and payment. has anybody else recieved notification?? Or recieved Delivery!

Posted by Zwing in United Kingdom, 04 Jun 2009 13:39

Shame, I was planning to buy echo base from lego shop UK and now I can't

Posted by legobazooka in United Kingdom, 04 Jun 2009 14:20

Keithkram - just got an e-mail apologising for the delay and saying shipping will take place in August. I have replied by asking for a fuller explaination of what went wrong and requesting a 50% discount on the price they charge when they do ship - applied to everyone affected.

Posted by smokebelch in United Kingdom, 04 Jun 2009 15:50

Ordered Echo Base as soon as it went up on UK S@H. Got shipping notification Wednesday, just checked DHL and my order's showing up as hitting the UK this evening... Fingers crossed should turn up Friday.
Looks like they have sent some of the orders out- very strange!

Posted by Wyatt13 in Germany, 05 Jun 2009 00:16

I picked up a lego star wars corporate alliance tank droid and echo base here at my local toysrus in germany.

Posted by keithkram in United Kingdom, 05 Jun 2009 03:10

I would love to complain, but they knwo we want to buy their products, I just think they are acting very unprofessional. I am going to complain to customer services today, see what happens.

Posted by Zwing in United Kingdom, 05 Jun 2009 11:58

I cannot wait over a month to get these sets!!!

Posted by keithkram in United Kingdom, 05 Jun 2009 12:18

I was told today that Germany, Austria and Switzerland got these sets on 1st June, the rest of europe will get them on 1st July. But as I get different answers from different reps at lego, god knows.

@smokebelch, did you get your echo base today

Posted by smokebelch in United Kingdom, 05 Jun 2009 12:24

Yeah Keithkram, Echo Base turned up today. Strange stuff, glad to get my set but sorry to see you guys not getting yours- dunno what S@H's playing at!

Posted by keithkram in United Kingdom, 05 Jun 2009 12:32

@smokebelch, thanks for that, its just that S@H did not beleive me when I said some people had had the sets, I can now use this as an argument for them to send me mine. I dont suppose I can have your order number to tell them that they have shipped one of these to the UK.

Posted by smokebelch in United Kingdom, 05 Jun 2009 13:03

@keithkram, dropped you a PM.

@mutley777

I am trying to get lego to honour all the orders for echo base and endor that were placed before they were removed, do you mind contacting me privately with your order number so I can convince lego that becuase they shipped some, they should ship them all. smokebelch contacted me privately with his, but having more than one will strengthen my case with them. Thanks.

New Lego Star Wars Sets

I can confirm that Lego have shipped some order for the new sets, which have now been deleted for sale from the Website as my Echo base set turned up Friday, after being ordered on the Tuesday!!

Posted by Zwing in United Kingdom, 08 Jun 2009 10:59

Still no 7749 and 8038 on lego shop Uk

Posted by pirakapro in Mexico, 08 Jun 2009 20:19

Cool! I've been wondering whens these new Star Wars sets would be coming out!

Posted by Zwing in United Kingdom, 09 Jun 2009 12:23

These sets are still not on lego shop UK

Posted by keithkram in United Kingdom, 09 Jun 2009 13:06

I have been told 1st July, but seeing Lego are unable to tell me the status of 4 different orders, including the star wars sets, I am not holding my breath!

Posted by Sarcasm in United States, 10 Jun 2009 11:10

If they do get to the UK befor the US, I hope it'll be soon so I can get one of my friends to pick it up for me and send it here. I really don't want to spend over $30 for a set on Bricklink, and I also don't want to wait until the end of my summer break before getting one. If only I had a friend in Germany. . .

Posted by Zwing in United Kingdom, 10 Jun 2009 13:35

I checked lego shop UK again and there was no sign of these sets coming soon

Posted by commander_cody in Finland, 12 Jun 2009 11:19

I wonder if it's really worth getting . Ofcourse there's a lot of cool minifigs and the Tauntaun is also cool , but it's not really anything else than that ... But it's not so expensive (I think I've seen it at Citymarket for 30 €) , so maybe I'll get it .
