I'm always excited by a BBQ.

They look nice. I assume that the smaller sets, are there to get people (Mom) to buy them. The larger sets are the ones that will encourage people (OK girls) to build with them. [I like the two with buildings.]
I would have loved these when I was young. I had to settle for large wooden blocks and Barbi Dolls to live in the buildings.
As I am trying to limit my LEGO sets to Harry Potter, I don't expect to purchase these. But I wish that I had someone to buy them for.

Speedboats, seaplanes, riding schools. These girls really know how to live it up!

Posted by Zordboy in Australia, 01 May 2012 08:30

That is a *lot* of pink.

I do love the riding school, though. That thing looks *sweet*.

The RV looks really nice.

Posted by Leggo my LEGO in Canada, 01 May 2012 08:40

I think I might build my own version of that RV but with a completely flat front window..having it slanted makes it look like a rejected version of the one from 2009.

I can't wait to get them all, but the one I'm most excited about is the riding school! I wish I could see a picture of the inside of the building.

The camper van looks the best pick - 2 bikes and a surf board - nice.
Especially like the (medium?) blue bike.

Does that horse in the horsebox set have 2 arched windows in its back which remove if you want to add a rider?

If so, interesting touch.

Love this radio

.. might copy that but wont be need to get the set to do that!

Posted by vamproe in United States, 01 May 2012 09:47

Love them....
really like Mia's music room, goes well with the paino and stage we already have.
The picnic table from the RV set is really nice too.

These look great.
The riding stuff and the camper van stand out.

Posted by richl in United States, 01 May 2012 10:18

^^^Looks like you remove the block out of the horse and replace it with a saddle piece which allows the Friends minifig to stand up in it. Be interested to see if they adapt that for regular horses.

A lot of these look pretty good. I'm tempted to buy a few for my soon-to-be-newborn daughter if I can find somewhere to store them for a few years...

They look pretty good. Some of them seem to have had designs borrowed a little from previous City releases...

Posted by hallows81 in United Kingdom, 01 May 2012 11:07

Think my daughters birthday list is going to be revised. She will love these. (I don't mind helping to build them either)

Posted by LostInTranslation in United Kingdom, 01 May 2012 11:17

Ooh, I want them all!! Camper is my favourite though

Posted by Verseau in United Kingdom, 01 May 2012 11:22

I love the Camper with the barbecue stuff... but i can't convince myself to these minifigs, why Lego, whyyy? :(

Posted by Nightshroud99 in Canada, 01 May 2012 12:14

I like that Summer Camp set, as well as the RV.

Posted by TrueKnight in United States, 01 May 2012 12:29

The Riding Camp will be a must buy. I knew it was to include a fig named Theresa but this is the first time I have actually seen it. Theresa is my nine year old daughters name and it appears to be close to the same hair color/style. She will flip out. The rest of these look pretty good too and I particularly like the Adventure RV.

What is everyone else's experience with the Friends sets with kids? I didn't really care for the figs at first but our daughter LOVES the sets and we were happy to see her use old minifigs to play with the new ones. The Park Cafe had many customers on the first day it opened. She even had her six year old brother with his Superhero figs.

Some nice looking parts in these sets.

Posted by vynsane in United States, 01 May 2012 13:17

Is it just me or do two of these new sets look like 'repainted' versions of CITY sets from 2009?

Horse Trailer: http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=3186-1
and
4WD with Horse Trailer: http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=7635-1

With the addition of some accessories and the removal of a roof/back to the Jeep, but the trailer is an EXACT DUPLICATE merely in different colors.

Camper: http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=3184-1
and
Camper: http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=7639-1

While the new one is bigger and has enough details to distinguish it, there are still striking similarities.

I wouldn't mind so much, except for the fact that my daughter already owns both of the 2009 sets - and loved them! Now I'm going to have to buy the Friends versions since she's absolutely obsessed with the line, and it won't do to skip them.

That said, the rest look fantastic and she'll have a blast with them!

9515 - wrong minifig. on pic. (Ahsoka is missing, Old Rep. character instead) :D

Posted by Jenni in France, 01 May 2012 17:26

My daughter's very excited about the marshmallows on sticks for the camp fire at the riding camp. She even managed to remember that they're marshmallows, not mushrooms. I'm sure we'll end up with all of them by the day after Christmas.

Posted by charfdorn in United States, 01 May 2012 18:08

@ Si_Dorking_Surrey The piece you remove from the horse to place the saddle is a 2 x 2 brick with rounded top and 2 studs (same shape as arch windows, but not as tall). Brilliant!

Why does TLG hate purple? I thought Friends was going to finally give us a permanent source for that lovely lilac/lavender color, but apparently the only color girls really like is pink?

That Desert Skiff will be mine. The Summer home looks very nice as well, I love how they built the tree. My son wants it, purely for the opportunity to have a beach house for his Iron Man/Tony Stark. The Friends sets are looking very impressive.

Posted by OuterRimTradingCo. in Australia, 03 May 2012 10:43

I'm loving the detail of the crashing wave and foam that has been put into the Creator house, and the new tree design looks great!
