    Here's a quick round-up of the significant news I was sent while away:

    - Toys N Bricks revealed an image of 40025 New York Cab, which will be available in the Rockefeller Center brand store.
    - Grogall found a hi-res picture of 9476 LotR Orc Forge.
    - Toys R Us is now listing some of the Monster Fighters sets and has provided higher-res pictures of them.
    - supersympa found a 30165 'Hawkeye with equipment' on eBay.se, which suggests it's out in the wild already!

Guys and the girls in the UK I've got some more news. If you order Lego Batman 2: DC Superheroes from Play.com you get that free Lex Luthor minifigure! http://www.play.com/Search.html?searchstring=DC+Super+Heroes+game&searchsource=0&searchtype=allproducts

It looks to me as though the armour in the Orc Forge has printing on it (the White Hand), but I don't see this in any other sets so far. Does anyone know anything about this?

Posted by Graysmith in Sweden, 06 May 2012 09:11

The 30165 Hawkeye polybag is being released with a comic book here in Sweden this coming week, though subscribers already got theirs last week which is why it's popping up on Swedish auction sites.

Those Monster Fighter sets look better and better with each new, clear picture I see.

@ aquafreak125: Thanks, wanted to find a way to get that in the UK :)

The orc forge looks like a very nice set, might have to get it for Lurtz and the special armour with the White Hand. And monster fighters looks amazing :D

@icey117 Thanks!
@aquafreak125 Thank's for the news, I think I know what I'm getting for my birthday now...
@Graysmith Which comic book? An avengers one? Doubt this will come to england.

The NYC taxi looks too small to fit a 2nd fig inside and you can't fit a fig through the opened door. I'll reserve judgement until I see this in person but this set doesn't do much for me.

@Huw: There are also pictures of the Ninjago sets (Other than the main pictures already in the database).

I want the Werewolf just for the olive green leaf parts. :)
Hopefully they'll begin turning up in other sets soon. :)

HARD TO FIND??? Is that phrase actually printed on the (LotR Orc Forge) box - in ADVANCE - or has it been superimposed with photoshop after the fact. I mean, what are LEGO trying to pull, or trying to say with that? A pre-determined small production run on a set just to feed an after market? A set they don't like and think won't sell, so they put 'limited edition' to make people buy it up. What purpose does it serve? If it's a good set and will sell, make lots and profit. If it's a naff set, improve it! If it's just an empty gimmick - have some damn respect for the consumers, and don't lie. It's hard enough as it is, trying to figure out LEGO's retirement policy, without this kind of pre-determined "we're gonna make this intentionally awkward to obtain - or are we really?" nonsense on boxes.

@Doomtrool,

No, it's being sold with "Kalle Anka & Co" (Donald Duck & Co), which I believe is the most popular children's comic book in Sweden.. One of them anyway. I'm guessing Disney pulled some strings since they own both Donald Duck and Marvel? They've included Jack Sparrow minifigures with it in the past (and I can only hope they'll include the Thor polybag in the future).

That is really interesting about the "Hard to Find" stamp. I wonder if this is just a reworking of the "Limited Edition" notes. @legomatt - I wouldn't get too worked up over it as I can't imagine TLG cares about the aftermarket. Might it boost sales? Sure, but I wouldn't think it's that significant. And there have been occasions where a "limited" set went wide later. And this new monniker at least matches how they do things on S@H.

Limited Edition or Hard To Find just means they won't sell them at WalMart and ToysRUs etc. Easy enough to find in a LEGO store or online. They probably only get a limited amount of shelfspace in the regular stores and have a strategy to maximize sales to the less enthusiastic crowd. That means putting the most famous figs out there so "mom" can go "I've heard of Gandalf/Frodo/Gollum" (but not Lurtz). They can't put every box front and center in every store.

Posted by Graysmith in Sweden, 07 May 2012 08:05

I can't imagine the actual box will have Hard To Find on it because if you're in a store and holding the box in your hand it'll seem incredibly ridiculous reading Hard To Find on it.

"Hard to find?! Well, I found it! It's right here in my hand!"

Limited Edition or Exclusive would be a far more appropriate wording.

Posted by legomatt in United Kingdom, 07 May 2012 16:13

@Yellowcastle, and everyone: Oh yes, i quite agree. I didn't mean to sound quite so worked up. Just trying to stress the point - overdid it a bit i think. I really don't recognise Lurtz in this set at all though, it's not a good LEGO likeness - needs more 'stuff' on his torso and a whacking great bow. Of course, they're probably going for the just dug out of the earth look perhaps. The point is though, i wish this exclusive/hardtofind/limited ed. wording actually meant something, otherwise it's just a lie.
