Looks like the new LEGO® Star Wars™ 10th Anniversary Stormtrooper™ Magnet icon set is now available to buy from LEGO Shop, at least for US & Canadian buyers.  Priced at $9.99US / $14.99 Canadian

Thanks to Andreas for the info :-)

UPDATE - we've been informed that the LEGO Brand Store in Milton Keynes, UK, has received a delivery of 'Chrometrooper' magnet sets & they are already on sale. The assumption is that the other UK Brand Stores have also received them, but this is unconfirmed, so, as usual, check before starting your journey !

Thats a pretty reasonable price for a chrome minifig

Posted by BionicleBOOM in United States, 23 Jun 2009 14:49

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 23 Jun 2009 14:52

Yeah, it was reported a couple of weeks ago, originally as a promotional item at Legoland California ...

Sweet, I should get one.

Posted by Tb96 in Sweden, 23 Jun 2009 15:20

looks like lego likes when it's chrome...

Posted by catman625 in United States, 23 Jun 2009 15:43

totally awsome need one great add on to any ones collection

Posted by Emerald Night in United States, 23 Jun 2009 16:08

I just ordered another one. I picked one up in a lego store and now I have spent my last increment of my giftcard on this minifigure. For people who have it... do you think the minifigure can come apart easily. With regualar minifigs you have to pull kind of hard to get the torso off but with this it slides off. Anybody agree?

Posted by darthlucas07 in United States, 23 Jun 2009 16:18

just ordered my two. I'm keeping one in package and one I can take out!!!

Posted by KLS in Singapore, 23 Jun 2009 16:18

This is indeed great news to those who can't make their way down to legoland.

Boo to all the scalpers now.

Posted by 18000pieces in United States, 23 Jun 2009 16:33

Well, if I really, really wanted to get rid of ten dollars for almost nothing in return, this is what i would get rid of it on.

Posted by Alemas in Germany, 23 Jun 2009 17:04

Wow, chrome stormtrooper on S@H? That's great! It's only in US and Canada though... any news for the UK?

Posted by gratefulnat in Switzerland, 23 Jun 2009 17:05

@ darthlucas07
me too!

@KLS
couldn't agree more with both your comments

@18000pieces
so there's still a chance that you might spend $10 on it, maybe...

:D

Posted by Zrath in United States, 23 Jun 2009 17:19

You know, one of the advantages of chrome armor is that it reflects all blaster shots.
Who's laughing now, rebel scum!! :D

Posted by catman625 in United States, 23 Jun 2009 18:05

is this thing going to out for awile? because if it is Lego is going to get rich

Posted by Zwing in United Kingdom, 24 Jun 2009 11:05

I hope it comes to the UK

Posted by ET in United States, 24 Jun 2009 11:23

@18000pieces: ALmost nothing in return? You get an awesome chrome trooper figure that could be worth a lot one day. It's a great investment.

Posted by Kidd98 in United States, 24 Jun 2009 11:28

I got 2 at the valley fair/california store. really cool if you ask me.

They are now available in the US shop at home.

Posted by WedgeAntilles in United States, 24 Jun 2009 17:25

There's also another pair of magnet sets online: Regular Stormtrooper, Rebel Pilot, and AT-ST driver, and Battle Damaged Darth Vader, Snowtrooper, and Shadow Trooper. What's up with all these Imp magnet sets? There should be a couple Rebel ones to even it out.

Posted by irnakk4431 in United Kingdom, 24 Jun 2009 17:35

Darn. i went to the Lego store in Milton Keynes 2 days before they got them.

Posted by dmcbuilder501 in United States, 24 Jun 2009 23:27

does the fig come off the base?

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 25 Jun 2009 01:19

@dmcbuilder - Yes. It's the same as the other new magnet figs; it's held to the magnet base with an upright that plugs into the stud holes on the back of the fig's legs. Once detatched from the magnet base, it's the same as any other minifig.

Just contacted the Lego store in milton keynes they have them in stock at £4.79 each and will post them to you, but they do charge postage

Posted by baylego in United States, 25 Jun 2009 09:22

Cool! I hope I can get one soon. I also saw on lego S@H a magnet pack with battle damaged darth vader, snowtrooper, and shadow trooper.

Posted by iabstract in United States, 25 Jun 2009 11:38

Sweet. The Lego store in Minnesota was sold out of the Chrome minifigs.

Posted by Zwing in United Kingdom, 25 Jun 2009 13:26

It may be cool but I am not sure if at £4.79 it is worth the price. I mean the chrome vader was free.

Posted by Obi-wan Legobi in United States, 25 Jun 2009 14:25

Thank you ,bluemoose! That's just what I've been wondering.

Posted by Rock Raider in Finland, 26 Jun 2009 07:55

I CANT BUY THIS! :'-(
IN A LEGO STORE :
Sorry, item is not available in this country: Finland.

Posted by Commander-Cody in United Kingdom, 26 Jun 2009 10:20

@ Z Wing: The Chrome Vader wasn't free for most, if not everyone in the UK.
Although the Vader itself was free, there were no sets from Summer that most of us actually wanted to buy, so I 'wasted' (not completely true) £35 getting a Vader. It is VERY, VERY nice, but it wasn't really free! :)

On the Chrome trooper side, I think £5 is a decent price for the Uk, and it better be on S @ H.
(Otherwise I'll blow my top!)

Posted by Zwing in United Kingdom, 26 Jun 2009 11:34

@ Commander-cody: I thought that the chrome vader was free because I got mine for free with 7672. Thanks for pointing out that mistake. I worked out that a magnet figure costs around £2.00. because the chrome stormtrooper is chrome it is probably worth £5.00.

Posted by Yoda 56 in United States, 27 Jun 2009 00:38

I have to order one!

Posted by Zwing in United Kingdom, 27 Jun 2009 12:50

I cannot have this figure :( :( :(

Posted by Commander-Cody in United Kingdom, 27 Jun 2009 18:05

Why? We don't know for sure whether it won't be on S@H for the Uk yet!

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 27 Jun 2009 18:18

I think we *can* be very sure that it *will* be on LEGO Shop UK, as it's already in UK Brand Stores & they are both part of the same division ('LEGO Direct') - basically they are the 'bricks & mortar' & online versions of the same thing. :-)

Posted by Zwing in United Kingdom, 28 Jun 2009 05:41

This set is lego shop's 2nd best seller in the US :)

Posted by Danson Delta-40 in United States, 28 Jun 2009 13:54
