Now you can record your loose minifigs!

  • Now you can record your loose minifigs!

Posted by Huw, 28 Jun 2009 17:21. Filed under Brickset.

I have just added another cool feature that has been asked for by many of you: you can now record your loose minifig collection at Brickset and also mark minifigs as wanted.

There are two places to do this: On the minifig detail pages you'll find the 'I own/I want' box in the menu just like for sets. You can record the quantity you own and, if you don't already own a 'fig, you can tick is as wanted. However the easiest place to do it is on your minifig collection page. Click on the View your minifig collection link under 'My sets' and once you've chosen a minifig theme you'll find the ' 'I own/I want' checkboxes. The minifig collection page has been enhanced to include a search facility.

Also on the 'My sets' page, once you've marked some as wanted, you'll be able to View the minifigs you want, Export your minifig list as a CSV, and most usefully Export your wanted minifigs in XML format that can be imported into your wanted list at BrickLink.

Note you'll need to have registered and be signed in for the links above to work, so if you haven't already, what are you waiting for: sign up today!

This is awesome. I just picked up all the legos from my childhood and there are probably 200 minifigs in the box... Time to start sorting.

Thanks.

FINALLY YAY!!!

Posted by supertails387 in United States, 29 Jun 2009 11:03

I know I sound like a total IDIOT saying this, but, I dunno what you can do with the loose minifigs, (again, I'm betting you think i'm an idiot =P (not you, huw =) )

Posted by Shamu1Believe in United States, 29 Jun 2009 11:29

Great feature, but at "My Sets" it says I want 1085 minifigs. I only marked 1.

Posted by Smallsam99 in United States, 29 Jun 2009 12:02

Yet another great feature to upgrade brickset. Keep up the good work. I don't mean to ask alot but is there any way that you can list all the types of pieces we have casue it can be a pain digging though sets looking for that one piece.

Posted by drewtheskater in United States, 29 Jun 2009 12:02

Thanks for the new feature! I had a lot of minifigs lying around that I have been wanting to record. However, there are some sets in which multiple variations of a minifigure could be found, but it records a certain one. For example, in the Republic Cruiser, you could get one of two Qui-Gon Jinns. I got the one with the black chin dimple, but it marked me as having the other one. Same with the Sandcrawler. I got the newer gold C-3PO, not the old colored one pictured on the box. I don't know if I'm being too picky, but I would like to have all my minifigures recorded correctly...

Man, you are too much. All these features spoil us. You rock. :)

As an aside (along the same line as s1w2i3t4c5h6f7o8o9t0), there needs to be an alternate version of set #7261, Clone Turbo Tank. The one I have did not come with the light-up Mace Windu.

Posted by clonepirate in United States, 29 Jun 2009 13:10

finally!!!!

Posted by GameOn99 in United States, 29 Jun 2009 13:11

You should make it so you can record custom mini-figs and name them.

P.S. Shamu1Belive: I think it is because of the sets you want.

Posted by Greyface in United States, 29 Jun 2009 13:14

@supertails387 - Some make models or separate creations and need extra minifigs; also, some collectors may want to buy a certain minifig they want without buying the entire set (i.e. buying Lord Voldemort off eBay without buying 4766-1: Graveyard Duel. Also, there are Collector's Edition minifigs not in sets... (The Chrome figs, etc.)

@Shamu1Believe - It will count every minifig from the sets that you want as well as those manually marked.

THANKS A BILLION, HUW!!!

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 29 Jun 2009 13:19

@Shamu1Believe, well spotted. Turns out that figure shown was the total wanted by everyone! It's now fixed.

@Smallsam99, Send your collection to Peeron from the My Sets page then you can see the parts you have there.

I think that there is a small problem with the desert section of the adventurers, What is now known widely as 'johny thunder' is actually originally called 'sam grant'. Otherwise, the system is very good.
