    9526: Palpatine's Arrest
    Star Wars/Episode III, 2012
    More details...

News has broken all over the web that Palpatine's Arrest has been seen in German brand stores. This photo is from  Imperium der Steine, I believe. The minifigs are apparently Kit Fisto, Mace Windu, Chancellor Palpatine, Saesee Tiin, Anakin Skywalker, Agen Kolar (source Smashing Bricks)  most of which are marked as being new, although some look very similar to previous versions.

They all look new, I.E. Anakin having those boot thingies, Palpatines golden saber handle (SWEET!), and some are COMPLETELY new.

Posted by Mequel De Vaughn in United States, 29 May 2012 12:40

The golden lightsaber hilt is nice but I could have preferred some changes to the minifigs. Maybe they could have brought back the minifigs with the light-up lightsabers. A light-up Palpatine would have been legendary.

Awesome idea getting a big bunch o' Jedi minifigs in one set. I'm very glad they've done this. However, does the set itself look flimsy and a little haphazard to anyone else? It kind of seems like a handful of random elements rather than one cohesive chamber or scene. (Especially that landing pad.)

Posted by LukeSkywalker in Ireland, 29 May 2012 12:47

It reminds me of a scaled-down version of Cloud City. :)

Posted by The BrickKeeper in United States, 29 May 2012 12:48

Incredible! I have been waiting. At dixondog: Ha, I got the 6th post. Beat that!

Posted by CapnRex101 in United Kingdom, 29 May 2012 12:49

Looks superb, all of the figures look accurate, despite their similarity to previous Minifigures, I like how Palpatine has a reversible face.

Posted by fyrmedhatt in United States, 29 May 2012 12:55

Personally I had low expectations and strongly suspected this set would not have a very impressive build, as the two previous Star Wars TRU exclusives (Hoth Echo Base and Home One Mon Calamari) were not very inspiring.

So I'm simply excited for all these new minifigures, that while similar to their Clone Wars renditions, do not have cartoon eyes and thus I'll collect them. I'm guessing we might not see some of them ever again, making this a must-buy in my eyes.

Posted by White Whale Collectables in Canada, 29 May 2012 12:56

This is an outstanding addition to the Summer line up. Must have for the minifigs alone!! Come on August!

Posted by Tintin14 in Netherlands, 29 May 2012 12:58

Awsome! Very good details from the real scène! Great!

Posted by The solitary dark in United Kingdom, 29 May 2012 12:59

I'm actually very impressed - loads of great play features and a speeder! The Minifigs look amazing, but the set itself really represents the scene well. Oh dear I may have to get one...

Posted by madforLEGO in United States, 29 May 2012 13:00

If I'm not mistaken this was an option on TRUs site for a contest some years ago.

Posted by Gandalf1 in United States, 29 May 2012 13:02

Cool, though it'll probably be overpriced...

Posted by Outer Rim Emperor in United States, 29 May 2012 13:08

Finally! I've been looking forward to this one! I'm terrified, looking at all these magnificent minifigures, what the pricing on this is going to be. If it's going to be outrageous I'll pass. I'm sick of paying these increasing prices! But I am happy to finally see some non clone wars figures! Geez!

Posted by Skywalker1966 in United States, 29 May 2012 13:11

Okay, now that just looks fantastic! Gold lightsaber hilt, six minifigs, most of them appearing to be brand new, a giant plastic/glass panel and what seem to be a TON of features! Definitely on my "Buy" list!

On a slightly more serious note, it sorta reminds of a cross between Cloud City and the Mon Calamari Home One... Besides, all those gold parts definitely give me a good reason to want it. :D

Posted by Kez in United Kingdom, 29 May 2012 13:12

It is €89.99 according to fbtb.net, also there is a few pictures of the back of the box aswell, I think it has 645 pieces inluded

Posted by ytjedi in United States, 29 May 2012 13:18

Yes, the sighting had it listed at €90, and looking at shop.lego.com under the German region that price looks like it would fall around a $70-80 set. I'm hoping it's not that high though. I peg this looking like a $60 set really. I guess we'll see!

Posted by max villano in Greece, 29 May 2012 13:27

wow l love paladin's golden light saber.

Posted by Bane in Germany, 29 May 2012 13:30

You don't have to believe Huw, it's a fact. :)
Sidasa found the Arrest today at the LEGO Store Hamburg (the set also shouldn't be far away from the other German stores), as well as the Mandalorian Starfighter.
You got slightly better pictures over there: http://imperiumdersteine.de/blog/bilder-zu-9526-palpatines-arrest/

Posted by avacadoturban in United Kingdom, 29 May 2012 13:43

Looks like a great set! For my taste, it is a little too stud-like, so perhaps a few extra tiles from bricklink will be in order ;)

Posted by kbsig106 in United States, 29 May 2012 13:57

Yes!!! The DC0052 Airspeeder - this makes the set! I started laying one out as a MOC a few weeks ago, I can stop now and compare the direction I was going to the "official" build.

Posted by The Reviewer in United States, 29 May 2012 14:04

Is the Chancelor Paplatine new or is it the same as the clone wars one? but are the Jedi minifigures non-clone wars?

Posted by swlego@hf in United States, 29 May 2012 14:10

i'm definetly getting this set...

Posted by CapnRex101 in United Kingdom, 29 May 2012 14:11

^^They are all non-Clone Wars, Palpatine seems to have a new torso and face print, and has a double sided face as well so you can turn him into the withered Darth Sidious.

Posted by Iron-Man in United States, 29 May 2012 14:14

Anybody know if Anakin will have a double sided head? Or is the only thing new about him his leg printing?

Posted by grandbuilder2001 in United Kingdom, 29 May 2012 14:28

By the way Huw, Kit Fisto isn't new, it says so on the box.

Posted by Bilko in United Kingdom, 29 May 2012 14:36

If there were any chance this would end up being a reasonable price in the UK I'd be all over it, as it is I will probably pass in favour of Jabba's Palace. Still looks good though...

Posted by ninjagoyo in United States, 29 May 2012 14:42

I don't give a fig about SW sets usually, but I might go for this one!

Posted by tman684 in United States, 29 May 2012 15:23

what the heck is going on with Master Tiin's Face?

Posted by galioinferno in United States, 29 May 2012 15:47

wow this is kinda awesome

Posted by zjygkmatt in United States, 29 May 2012 15:52

Wonder what the insane price is going to be.

Posted by thebrickdaddy in United States, 29 May 2012 15:59

^This will be $90 USD, a TRU exclusive- that's been confirmed.

Posted by TBOC in United States, 29 May 2012 16:31

Damn it... I thought I was gonna be able to afford all these lego sets this year.
but I must own this...

Posted by Doomtrool in United Kingdom, 29 May 2012 16:54

Whoa. That's almost exactly what I thought the set would look like except maybe the office is smaller and the shuttle was larger.

Posted by Zacherano in United States, 29 May 2012 16:55

Wow, this looks amazing! Although I own all six minifigures (or very similar variants, except for the face and torso of Agen Kolar), this is a must-buy for me and I have been praying for Lego to make this set since ROTS. I love this scene and love the mixture of Jedi and Sith in the set (Windu's lightsaber affiliating him partially with the Sith). I am impressed with Lego's design on this model.

Unfortunately, I doubt Lego will price this one reasonably, as the minifigures probably will hike up the cost. Still, I would be willing to pay a high price and I'm sure other SW fans will agree.

Posted by Anak in Hungary, 29 May 2012 17:00

Anakin's legprint isn't new. You can find it in the set 9494. I think Anakin has only a new faceprint.

Posted by Bilko in United Kingdom, 29 May 2012 17:39

Having had a bit of time to mull it over, I may go for this set after all. The figs are awesome, and the set itself looks ripe for mods to extend the walls, floor etc. I can see myself adding Yoda and some royal guards to make scenes from later in ROTS too. Hmm, better start saving I suppose.

Posted by QwertyLEGO in United States, 29 May 2012 17:42

I gotta get this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Bumblepants in Cameroon, 29 May 2012 17:43

Finally, a Windu that doesn't light up or have a Clone Wars face!

Posted by sarlacc98 in United Kingdom, 29 May 2012 17:45

Wow this summer is going to be expensive seeing as how I'm a kid I will probally only be getting two sets this summer and this is definately one of them. Along with the sarlacc pit of course.

Posted by legofanatic2414 in United States, 29 May 2012 17:45

Very nice set. I would love to have it, although I would have expected as much from the price point. Might have to pass and buy the Desert Skiff.

Posted by Zacherano in United States, 29 May 2012 17:46

I'm also looking forward to the Windu. I shelled out $25 to get the light-up version, which actually seems to be a deal for that fig. I was happy when TLG released Luminara Unduli in a non-light-up version as well, and I think the figure's design was better and certainly more detailed. The Windu fig looks very similar to the light-up version, but I think it is a great Lego fig to have for MOCs, etc.

Posted by BlackFalconBirdman in United States, 29 May 2012 19:23

hmm, no one seems to like the clone wars figures. I like most of them, especially Count Dooku. I think I'll pass on this one cause I have the figures and like Jabba's Palace much more.

Posted by Ypres in Canada, 29 May 2012 20:20

Hmm, can't say I'm a huge fan. I'm not bothered by the "play set" style, but usually they're quite costly. I found Clone Wars figures far superior over the last few years, however, it's good knowing they'll be some regular trilogy minifigures worth updating.

The set looks fine, I'm only interested in seeing a close up of the speeder right now.

Posted by The Reviewer in United States, 29 May 2012 20:59

@Captain Rex101 thank you for the Clarification. It feels good to get some Non-clone wars Jedi.

Posted by legomatt in United Kingdom, 29 May 2012 21:54

FINALLY!!!
Non-cartoon Jedi. I can hardly believe it's taken THIS long for FILM versions of some of he Jedi, which have been done over and over in cartoon sets. But given that some of them never needed new torso or leg prints, I'm amazed they didn't just print double-sided heads where possible, CW one side, Film other side. Then no doubt I would have been buying many a CW playset, for the non-cartoon sided figs.

I would love to see a modular Jedi council (Ep1) set (sort of segmented so that when you combine them all, side to side, it completes the circle). Set one would be the room centre piece with doorway, featuring young anakin & Qui-Gon, possibly combined with Yoda's chair/window section, too, so that the starter set makes narrative sense.

Then the rest of them would each be a jedi from the scene, and its chair/window section. When you have them all, you have a complete jedi council chamber...

Posted by Lego Lord Mayorca in United States, 29 May 2012 22:44

First of all, this set is great. I look forward to non-Clone Wars' hideous countenances; now if only Lego would do away with those goofy, cutesy-eyes (that speckle of white in every minifigure eye)! Mace Windu did not have a childish sparkle in his eyes as he went in to arrest the Chancellor. This was the darkest, most serious Star Wars could be at that point in the trilogy. At least Palpatine looks menacing enough. And the pieces for the Force Lightning were included! Yipee!

And Zacherano, I don't know what crazy EU you're dipping into, but Windu's lightsaber is NOT indicative of affiliation with the Sith. Pure fan-wank; all it is indicative of is how Windu is a B.A.M.F. It's even engraved in the hilt! Haha.

Posted by Modok in United States, 29 May 2012 23:13

I just noticed that in the direct center of the box, near the bottom, there appears to be a Lego game microfigure. I'm assuming it's supposed to be a statue or something. Is that the first time a microfigure has appeared in a regular set?

Posted by Darth Lurtz in United States, 30 May 2012 01:08

^^ Actually 9472 Attack on Weathertop used them before this set

Posted by Modok in United States, 30 May 2012 01:50

^Hey, you're right. Good catch. Nice to see them using these neat little pieces.

Posted by CapnRex101 in United Kingdom, 30 May 2012 04:29

@syahcire - There was a Mace Windu released with a non light-up-lightsaber in a re-release of the original Clone Turbo Tank set. They took away the light-up-lightsaber and added another Clone Trooper.

@Lego Lord Mayorca - Agreed about the Mace Windu lightsaber thing, nothing to do with the Sith, he may have an aggressive duelling style, but he is far from being on the edge of light and dark.

Posted by jonboy2000 in United Kingdom, 30 May 2012 08:10

Smells like Home One MKII.

Posted by Jarod98 in United Kingdom, 30 May 2012 08:32

Nice set, I'm glad they finally made my favorite seen throughout the Star Wars saga. My only complaint is going to be the price; we all know it's going to be absurd so I could very well miss out on what could be my last Summer buying SW sets :-(

Posted by skipper1011 in United States, 30 May 2012 11:26

This is actually a darn good looking model, minifigs and all. The minifigures don't look like the crap we got in the most recent Jabba's Palace. These minifigures actually look like LEGO. I am slightly disappointed with the landing pad. It looks quite flimsy. I would have preferred not to get the ship and the landing pad and have a larger office. Still a must buy for me. Hopefully this set will lead to much more Episode III sets. Order 66 anyone?

Posted by CapnRex101 in United Kingdom, 30 May 2012 13:36

I was concerned they might not include Agen Kolar as he is somewhat obscure and dies immediately, but with the Eeth Koth hairpiece already out there it only made sense to include him.

Posted by zjygkmatt in United States, 30 May 2012 15:42

Wow $90 USD....
It might just be me, but that looks like an ARC Fighter sized box, which was not $90. And comparing the Fury Class Interceptor is $90 that equals $180. This wave is so expensive. Anybody know the piece count?

Posted by spency13 in United States, 30 May 2012 15:57

So this is what love feels like.... THIS SET IS A MUST-HAVE!!!!

Posted by LEGOSLUG in New Zealand, 30 May 2012 16:08

WOW!

NEW Minifigures, New set, HORRIBLY NEW PRCIE, I WONDER??!!

Posted by BrokeBoi in Norway, 30 May 2012 16:49

Best set of the year, especially in terms of minifigures. The minifigures alone are worth the price, or not really, but I'm buying it anyway!

Posted by Zacherano in United States, 30 May 2012 17:14

@ All who commented about the Mace Windu lightsaber - I am not necessarily saying he is about to turn to the dark side, but I believe the purple lightsaber is indicative of the fact that Windu likely has more knowledge of the dark side than his peers, and at the very least has some understanding of the dark side and likely has experimented in some way down that alley. Of course, Windu is also a BAMF, but part of that comes from the characterization of Samuel L. Jackson himself. Windu is certainly one of the most loyal Jedi of the saga, but I believe the purple lightsaber has an interpretable meaning, and I am definitely very happy that Lego has made a new and improved ROTS Windu. I think everyone can agree that this is an overall plus of the set.

Posted by Iron-Man in United States, 30 May 2012 17:35

@Zacherano a quick google search will provide you with all the information of how Mace was not able to construct a lightsaber and was sent on a soul seeking mission, which turned into him protecting some village. After protecting the village they gave him a crystal only found on that planet, which inevitable gives off the purplish glow. Nothing to do with him experimenting in the dark-side.

Posted by CapnRex101 in United Kingdom, 30 May 2012 17:36

^^The lightsaber may have some darker meaning which has been created around the purple colour, but it is only purple because Samuel L. Jackson wanted it to be.

Posted by itsaturkey in United States, 30 May 2012 17:37

Those Micro-figures have been priceless it seems for Lego. They're great little statues! (There are two gold ones in this set) I love how they are non-CW minifigs. While I don't necessarily dislike the CW's or it's minifigs, I prefer the original style. I also love how you'd be getting three super iconic characters (Anikan, Mace, Palpatine), one semi iconic (Kit Fisto) and two other guys. Plus six lightsabers. Not to mention a purple blade and a gold hit! This thing is a gold mine!

Posted by Firox 5000 in United Kingdom, 30 May 2012 18:11

I'm glad they decided to make this set of one of the best scenes in episode three which was released seven years ago. Any ideas on what the prices for this set will be?

Posted by TBOC in United States, 30 May 2012 19:44

I don't get why people are bashing some of the other sets, this isn't that amazing. It would be a great set for... $40-50 USD? But I'm not wasting $90 on a set not worth it. It's a great set, but not for that price.

I'm just amazed they gave everyone capes - they NEVER do that. they usually try not to, it seems.

Posted by Zacherano in United States, 30 May 2012 22:16

@Iron-Man - There are many various explanations for the color of Windu's saber, including that one, and I prefer that everyone be able to choose the one they want to believe since this is EU material anyway. Honestly, as CapnRex101 said, Jackson wanted the purple saber, so chances are Lucas or an affiliate did not create those stories you're reading online.

Posted by Legozrool in United States, 31 May 2012 08:53

Is the small ship a mini t-6 Jedi shuttle?

Posted by Legolover9531 in United States, 31 May 2012 09:50

I LOVE THIS SET!!!!! All the minifigs are great, and this shouldn't be too big on my wallet.

Posted by legomatt in United Kingdom, 31 May 2012 23:31

Re: Windu Sabre; Just to concur with previous comments. Samuel L Jackson got offered the part, and said something like "Hey, Can I have a purple one? it's my favourite colour", and George Lucas said "Sure, why not".

No mysterious 'windu knows the dark side', or 'rare power crystals', that stuff is just made up by whoever got bored and stuck for a storyline, and so decides, after the fact, to explain sabre colours away and begin a whole canon this, canon that, argument. Ugh. The Star Wars universe is like Lilliput sometimes.

I remember when watching the original films as a kid wondering if the colours reflected the personality of the wielder - basically cos bad guys have red ones, goodies had green/blue, (which WAS probably a 'uniform' device used by the filmmakers to differentiate baddies from goodies, just like everything else in the movie) and then wondered if Anakin's sabre would ever turn red mid-battle as he turned to the dark side - which would have been cool. It was a shame to have the mystery explained (i.e. ruined) by computer games saying the colour is derived from a crystal. I mean, really? Do all the bad guys have a sudden urge to swap a crystal round?

"Arise, Lord... Vader!"

What is your wish, my new master

"I want you to go to the Utopa system, kill the viceroy!"

I cannot, my master

"WHY!?"

I haven't got a red crystal for my sabre... it would be so... out of character!

"Screw it. How much are these red ones?"

I don't know, i never needed one before, but now... i just feel unable to fight without one.

"I knew i should have stocked up on those things, when i started this affair, damn our sith ways!"

Yes, master.

"Okay, well, can you squeeze their necks , rough them up a bit?"

Err, yes, I think i could, but, ahh. Well, i'd feel more into it, if i had a red sabre.

"Don't worry, you'll be looking a lot worse after kenobi catches up to you".

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
