The new LEGO Games are starting to appear in many shops now in the UK: Toys R Us is stocking 8 of the ten games (no Lunar Command or Creationary because that is an Argos exclusive) and even my small branch of Tesco had seven of them in stock this morning in a card display case at the end of one of the aisles.

Looking at the Games list I see nobody has reviewed any of them yet so, please, if you have them, let us know what you think of the game itself and the parts selection. I have Creationary and Ramses Pyramid but I've not actually played them yet, but I'll add my review once I have.

I'm not really interested in these Game sets, but i'd like to know how good of a game they are. And Huw, if the Lunar Command and Creationary are Argos exclusives, dos that they are exclusives in the U.S?

@BioFreak877 - Lunar Command and Creationary are exclusive to a shop here in jolly old England called Argos (it's a kind of department store sort of thing, it sells homewares and toys etc. But you order things through a catologue) don't know if they are available in the U.S. They might be a Walmart exclusive or something over there.

I already have the Lego board game 'Creator', so I won't be buying Creationary.
The ones I am interested in involve Monster 4, Ramses Pyramid and Lunar Command.

Only Creationary is Argos exclusive, Lunar Command hasn't been seen anywhere yet, not even in the brand stores.

@Huw - I have seen the Lunar Command set at the Brighton Lego store. It was there about a week ago when I last went.

I hate to be an off-topic buzz kill, but does anyone know when these games come out in the US?

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 01 Aug 2009 14:05

Huw - all 10 of the games (including Lunar Command) have been in the Milton Keynes Brand Store since the launch on 1st July.

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 01 Aug 2009 16:35

@leggodt, early next year I believe.

@bluemoose, thanks, I stand corrected.

Thanks, huw!

Once they come out to the rest of Europe I'll get Pirate Code, and probably only that one. Can never have too many gems!

leggodt: The games site just said 2010 so sometime then. If you want to see for yourself in the USA, change your riegon to UK, go to the games site and then change your riegon back to the usa and watch the cool intro.

Just a note for Commander Cody or anyone else who has the early Creator game - the New Creationary has rules and items that avoid the problems with the earlier game (No guessing 'banana' as soon as the person who is playing reaches for a yellow brick etc.) it was developed to actually encourage building.
My favourite of the games is Minotaurus - it's good fun, has lots of strategic possibilities and would probably be impossible without it being made of LEGO!

I have a "Creator" game, but not like the new Creationary: You move around the board, hopefully landing on a space that gets you bricks to build your Creation. The first one to build it wins.

Huw, you know what I'm talking about because I sent you an email about it a while back.

I love games and I love dice. I can't wait till these come to the US so I can get these buildable dice.

Yes jonbuddy I do know it. I have two different Creator games myself. They were made by Rose Art, licenced from LEGO, and do not have proper set numbers which is why they are not in our database. Rose Art is now owned by Mega Brands so we won't be seeing any more like them :)

I got the Monster 4, Lunar Command and Ramses Pyramid games and showed the boxes at San Diego Comic-Con. I only got to start playing the games this past week - and I onlyt have played Monsters 4 so far.

Monsters 4 is a Connect 4 type game, but has a random element in the dice, which makes the game a bit more interesting than Connect 4. It's for 2-4 players, and the more, the better - the game has almost no learning curve, and can be done in 10- 15 minutes, which makes it a really nice game! There's also ideas for changing the game to add more complexity in the instructs.
