It's been around 5 years since we've been able to record our collections at Brickset and now we've reached a landmark: Brickset members own one million LEGO sets! Last night, member hrkica added a gold 2x4 keyring to his collection: the one millionth to be added. With 15,000 people using the facility that's an average of 63 sets each.

Somehow I don't think it will be another 5 years before we rack up 2 million.

WOW! A million sets??? That's amazing!

It'll probably take a little longer, with the loss of the SW sets in 2011. Anyway, I'm pretty impressed, 63 sets per person!

Heh, I'll keep buying to help "up" the count. If my mom will take back her "no more legos! Our playroom is too messy!" that is. With my mere 15,000 lego pieces, I'm trying to convince her to let me buy more. I'll keep trying! MOOOMMMM! I WANT MORE LEGOS!......................................

I am over average too, what a great way to mark the 1,000,000th with it being a gold key chain, good job, hrkica. It is also convenient that the Brickset minifig thing is going on, maybe you can have a one millionth set minifig drawing too that has a gold 1,000,000 on the front and today's date on the back.

I have 320 sets selected on "my sets," but I know I have many many more. My lego bricks and instructions are at my parents' house still, so I was only able to add the sets I remember owning; I know that there are many little sets that I have not added to my list. Maybe next summer when I'm on summer vacation and the house is done being remodeled, I can move my lego sets down here...

And play with them again.

It would be nice to know how many minifigures Brickset users have in their list?
Also
Who is the member with more sets in the site?
Huw, I am sure you can tell us these statistics
Cheers

I really have a lot more sets I did not put down as mine (even though you can not see the ones I have as mine right now).

starwarsgeek101: I have 179 sets!

i think brickset should have some brick givaway or somthing because this is historic. Ironic that a brick that celebrates lego, a simple 2 by 4 gold painted brick, is the one millionith set. weird.

Wow, it seems like everyone who comments has at least three times the average, myself included! I smell statistical improbability here...

Anyways, 1,000,000 lego pieces would be a lot, but 1,000,000 sets is monumental. And 240,000,000 pieces? I have a lot of legos, but my collection is only a thousandth of that!

Posted by chrisdog121411 in United States, 17 Aug 2009 02:23

I own 220 sets with a grand total of 23703 parts, And 215+ minifigs

Posted by Renegade007cjh in United Kingdom, 17 Aug 2009 09:12

Congratulations Brickset! That's a LOT of Lego. Who wants to do the maths and work out how much we've all spent on the cool plastic bricks!?!? I have 160 sets logged on Brickset (mainly Star Wars), with about 480 Minifigs, BUT I know I've got a tonne of old City / Town / Castle stuff in the loft still to be sorted and logged.

Posted by auto turrent in United States, 17 Aug 2009 09:40

@chrisdog121411... i own 143 sets (i thought i had more),314 mini figs,32426 peices

Posted by Brickmeister1138 in United States, 17 Aug 2009 17:27

In terms of spent money, there is probably well over 10 million dollars worth of sets between all of brickset's members. I don't even want to think about how much I have spent on my sets.

Posted by Unknown User2596 in United States, 17 Aug 2009 18:18

Yay! A million sets total! Congrats everyone!
BTW, I own 239 (Should be 242 but the sets aren't the database as of yet), 269 minifigs and 31710 pieces in total!

Posted by Zwing in United Kingdom, 20 Aug 2009 05:38

I have 101 sets over average!
