    Gandalf Arrives, and the rest of the LotR sets are now listed at Argos. There doesn't seem to be a lot of stock around though -- at least not in my area -- but this set and Shelob Attacks, are in my local store and I'll be on my way down there in a minute to collect them.

    Toys R Us also has them listed, but for an August 1st release. Their prices are however, astronomical: at least 20% more than at Argos. E.g. Shelob Attacks: Argos - £19.99, TRU - £24.99, Battle of Helms Deep: Argos - £99.00, TRU - £119.99!

I have a feeling the TRU prices are the RRP. Because £11.99 just sounds far to cheap for Shelob Attacks!

Gandalf will be arriving into my hands in about an hours time, thanks for the heads up Huw. Only one copy of that one set in a 15 mile radius of me. Will probably wait for Amazon for the others though as funds are very short atm.

Seems TRU is now following the lead of its US counterpart, which is weird because our prices are too high in comparison with the US to begin with. All the watford branches have the order into store option, so I'll pick up Uruk Hai Army, Gandalf Arrives, and Shelob Attacks.

The two smallest sets are available near me but I am not going out to get them, I will wait until I have bought the two Star Wars exclusives.

The Shelob Attacks price at TRU is crazy! In the US: $21.99. In the UK: £24.99!? They would have been at least equal, but now it's MORE in the UK. Wow. That's pretty ridiculous.

I don't get how LEGO doesn't reprimand Toys R Us for setting prices way above the recommended price. It's like a band that encourages scalpers to sell tickets for way more than they cost, even though the band doesn't see any of that money. Makes no sense at all, and all LEGO get in return are unhappy customers and undercut sales.

The sets are also now available in Germany at Galeria Kaufhof. All except Attack on Weathertop. They are all RRP and that really will add up. Gandalf Arrives here is €14.99. Shelob is €26.99. Helm's Deep €139.99. With the current exchange rate, to buy in euros is really rather steep. With that said though, purchased Gandalf, Orc Forge and Uruk-hai Army yesturday and am very very pleased. The figs are incredible, the new horse, helms, and weapons are very nice and the models are okay -

Thanks for the heads up, Huw. I've now got my grubby little hands on the only Gandalf Arrives that the Bedford Argos had. Is it just me, or are the new horses smaller than the old ones? I can't check for myself atm unfortunately, we're moving house on wednesday and all my Lego is packed away.

Just managed to get Shelob Attacks before my local Argos closed. No other sets around in the nearest 10 stores though. A member of staff at the store said that half of the sets weren't even in stock in the wharehouse yet. Looks like we might have to wait a while for the rest!

Thanks for the heads up. Just got gandalf arrives and urak-hai army from argos in bromley. Sets are amazing. One thing ive noticed though is that the brick quality is so much better than the one from the helms deep set which i ordered from barnes&noble from the US.

I have reserved Shelob Attacks for 19.99 to be available end of week at Argos. It's simple Shelob Attacks and Helms Deep are only a introductory price and will soon go up and Toys R Us are not selling above RRP. Tho every retailer should've selling these cheaper which I agree with :o

I really do think Lego should set a maximum price for some of their sets as a condition of selling them, places like WH Smith must actively harm their brand as it makes it look too expensive.

I've reserved the last Shelob Attacks and Gandalf Arrives at Castle Vale Argos in Birmingham. Nothing else was in stock nearby.
Anyway thanks Brickset for letting me know they were out - really looking forward to getting these sets later today!

Hmm - might be an error but I tried searching for Lego Lord of the Rings on the Argos website but it's all not there anymore!
Did they star selling too early? Glad I got a couple of sets yesterday.

^ they look to be permanently removed, lucky for me I got a reserve for 3 sets so I'm going to pick them up later today. ^^ They also had weather top and Orc forge in stock but sadly I didn't reserve them.

Edit - just tried searching via the Argos product code (which I had cos I reserved a couple of sets but didn't pick them up - stoopid!) and the product page comes up but you can't reserve for store pick up - you can buy for delivery on July 21st however. Guess that's when they're actually allowed to start selling them...

Yesterday i reserved 3 Lego LOTR items ( weathertop, Orc Forge, Uruk Hai army) for store delivery on 5th july. It will be interesting to see if they still turn up. i would suspect not but you never know

I've reserved the 'mines of moria' set and need to collect today. Spent so much on these sets already, but so tempted to go get it.
