It looks great! Not so much doc oc though.

Due in August? Gee, only a month...

Posted by LostInTranslation in United Kingdom, 02 Jul 2012 11:14

As Brick Heroes say, the set does seem to be very similar in type to the Batcave and Hulk's helicarrier breakout... and I'm not keen on the new Doc Ock either... Pass, until it's on significant discount.

Meh...

Thanks for sharing the picture though.

This set does look great, but I'm hoping for a reasonable price this time around. The Doc Oc looks alright, but not superb. Iron Fist is interesting, but I don't know much about him.

Due for release in August... Are their any other Super Heroes sets coming out then, seems a bit weird if this is the only one.

Posted by TheConverter15 in United Kingdom, 02 Jul 2012 12:41

@ OllieL: I heard that they were releasing a DKR set :/

Posted by brix in United Kingdom, 02 Jul 2012 12:44

to me, this set looks a bit nothingy - its not that big and the design seems very basic. and the figures aren't that great either - they certainly should have tried harder with spiderman!

Posted by legos4ever in United States, 02 Jul 2012 12:49

does dkr stand for Donkey kong?

Posted by Zacherano in United States, 02 Jul 2012 13:06

I think it stands for The Dark Knight Rises, this summer's blockbuster Christopher Nolan film and the last in the trilogy.

Posted by OllieL in United Kingdom, 02 Jul 2012 13:31

@Legos4ever It stands for Dark Knight Rises and as Zacherano says it is this summers blockbuster by Christopher Nolan. It is the last in the trilogy and had a budget that was enough to cure cancer :D

However I doubt their will be any Dark Knight Rises sets since Super Hero sets are based off comic books and the time needed to design, approve and then manufacture a set doesn't seem realistic. Perhaps next year but I suspect that they will copy more of the old batman sets like arkham asylum etc but throw in a couple of new sets like this years Jokers Funhouse. On the other hand, many people on Cuusoo wanted Tumblers (I think there was a black one, a camo one and a UCS one) so perhaps TLG has taken some inactive and designed one to release around the film, Again all speculation...

LEGO confirmed no DKR sets will be coming out. I like this set and I'll be getting it for sure!

Posted by orwellian in United States, 02 Jul 2012 13:55

I like the repainted/unpainted TIE fighter window.

Posted by Goldchains in United States, 02 Jul 2012 14:33

I dig it. A must have for me, as Spiderman is my favorite hero. Not really liking the Doc Ock, but the Spiderman and Iron Fist figures look great. The laboratory looks pretty cool too, with lots of technic elements.

Posted by vamproe in United States, 02 Jul 2012 14:39

I think they did the spider man unlimited justice. Would like to see more figures from the cartoon now.
at least the rest of the team.....Nova, white tiger, and powerman (?)
would be great to get a doctor doom, doom bots from the series too.

I think one episode had iron spider in it too.

"avec un petit véhicule équipé de flick-fire missiles"... there is no French word for "flick-fire"? ;)

Posted by spency13 in United States, 02 Jul 2012 16:23

Yes, as Legolover said, Legohas already officially stated that there will be NO sets based of DKR. But I do hope some surprise set comes out at the same time, because it is odd how just this one set is being released.....

Posted by TheConverter15 in United Kingdom, 02 Jul 2012 16:28

Shame about the DKR sets, kind of needed a Bane based off of the Tom Hardy character :(

Posted by turtle1173 in United States, 02 Jul 2012 16:31

Super excited about the spiderman set, although I do recognize that it doesn't seem all that great. I'm hoping this is just the first of more to come. Like many others, I don't care too much for the look of Dr. Ock. However, he is very good if you are comparing him to his character in the new cartoon.

Posted by legocrazy1234 in United Kingdom, 02 Jul 2012 17:35

I am very disapointed. Not much thought has gone into this set. Very bland after the batman sets. Hopefuly there will be some more spiderman sets with abit more imagination on colour and functionality. Not keen on doc oc either. Was hoping he would have his trench coat on.

Posted by nerfman1234 in United States, 02 Jul 2012 17:40

This looks like a 20-30 dollar set. I hope it isn't $50, which was originally reported.

Posted by Legolover9531 in United States, 02 Jul 2012 19:11

@nerfman1234

It will be $40 USD

Posted by nerfman1234 in United States, 02 Jul 2012 19:51

Thanks. Well, that isn't that bad of a price after all. I think the picture is taken at an angle where it doesn't look like it has that many pieces...it honestly looks like a $20 dollar set to me.

Posted by vwong19 in United States, 02 Jul 2012 20:53

It looks like a $30 set, but I think it was confirmed somewhere to be $40. It only has 3 minifigs... Pretty awful considering the playset and vehicle doesn't look to be very iconic. I will probably buy one near retail price assuming there is a give away promo of some kind. The heroes are so bright and colorful while the playset and villian are so dark.

Exactly

Posted by nightmarevalkyrie in United States, 02 Jul 2012 22:27

The set looks nice the figures are nice to add to my collection the spiderman looks weird since its a blue torso, the doc ock is decent I mainly want it or the tentacles to add it to my old doc ock from 2007 since I lost the bracket piece. Iron fist looks amazing other than that I'll probably just pick it up or the figures

This set is not based on the Ultimate comics, but the new Ultimate Spider-man cartoon show on Disney XD. The cartoon really doesn't have anything to do with the Ultimate comics. The cartoon has been given some harsh reviews. I miss Spectacular Spider-man. In the new cartoon Spidey works for Shield/Nick Fury and he works along side Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Nova, and White Tiger

Posted by Gregorovich in United Kingdom, 03 Jul 2012 17:39

Not very impressive at all. Oh well, that's less money I need to spend.

Posted by legofanatic2414 in United States, 03 Jul 2012 18:53

The set is already on the Superheroes minisite.

Posted by ninjagoyo in United States, 03 Jul 2012 21:38

Are the half-cylinders new in medium blue?

Posted by jukky in United Kingdom, 04 Jul 2012 11:08

:D cant wait!

Posted by eragon3443 in United States, 06 Jul 2012 11:51

Nice looking set, I don't think they made a Doc-Ock/Spiderman set from the old Spiderman line.

Walmart is selling for $30!

@vwong19

I was thinking this set was going to be a Walmart exclusive, as Target got The Orc Forge, and Toys R Us got the Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape. However, that $30 surprises me. I would of thought it was going to be $40, like some people had pointed out.

I may have to see this set in person before making my final decision on whether to get it or not.
