I have to admit I thought this set had gone earlier this year, but #10215, UCS Obi-Wan's Starfighter is currently available from LEGO Shop online in Europe, Australia & New Zealand at around 50% off, which seems like a pretty good deal.

This set never generated a lot of excitement, unusual for a Star Wars UCS set, and it always seemed rather expensive, but I have to admit I enjoyed the build a lot more than I was expecting and the finished model looks a lot better than I thought it would. It also makes a for a good 'parts pack' for the MOCers out there. At this price I'm quite tempted to get another one ...

At £46.49 in the UK, I'm not expecting it to be around for long ... click through to LEGO Shop on-line to take a look.

Also, a reminder that the free Mini Sopwith Camel set with a £50/€55 spend offer is still running ..

Thanks to those on the forums that posted about this and those that emailed us with the news.

Do you think this set is retiring at the end of this year? I've already picked up 1 but might get another if it is. Then again the fire brigade would probably be a better investment.

Is this deal aviable in Lego stores in the U.S?

Posted by mountebank in United Kingdom, 07 Jul 2012 18:11

"Zombie set of the week" is very amusing.

No doubt it'll sell for more than £50 at some point on the future. I just can't bring myself to buy it, it's simply awful.

They oddly have a few 2012 sets 10% off: 4436, 6913, and 9095.

It just does nothing for me. £25 and Ill have one for an ornament.

I remember getting it for 80 dollars in the US around the Holiday Season, and I got it because I wanted it. Everyone was all whiny about it not having a minifigure or that the droid was too big. That's not an excusable reason to not buy the set. It is UCS for to be not a plaything and LEGO did a wonderful job making it. I suggest getting one, even if it is just for parts. There are tons of Dark Red, White, some nice Lime Green parts and a giant 16x8 tile that could be used for... I don't really know, but something. The best sets are always the cheaper ones because you get more bang for your buck.

This set has already been retired in the US as of March 12th. It's no longer listed on shop.LEGO.com in the US.

I was actually surprised to see this in Big W last week as well. cant remember the price but I think it was around $100. Doesnt do anything for me either, kinda looks pretty plain, especially for a UCS kit

This set always appealed to me until I held out too long in March or so it went out of stock in the U.S. I would've loved to have it 25% or whatever the deal was back then but ohh well.

Kinda feels like the new 9498 is a better buy if you just want a starfighter of that model/style. They're obviously not on the same scale or anything like that, but that one's cheaper, has minifigures and looks nicer in my opinion.

It's only €39.99?? Sold! :)

Posted by hleonffu in United States, 08 Jul 2012 03:59

@ben9996 try Walmart.com. They have it for 25% off.

Posted by H5N1 in Germany, 08 Jul 2012 04:49

Just ordered mine. But it cost me 49,99€ not 39,99€ as Luke from Ireland said above??!? Well I don't mind too much because at 55€ (I added Cat-Woman and got to 64€)I got free shipping and the Sopwith Camel. So no complaining there.

Now out of stock (UK), not expected back in till the end of the month.
Still, it's a much more reasonable price now...

Posted by michaelmiso in Ireland, 08 Jul 2012 06:14

I ordered mine last night and its €39.99 here in Ireland. Could not resist it at that price.

Posted by Dimefield in Canada, 08 Jul 2012 08:12

Oh very cheap i think i´m going to buy one this evening.

When you visit the lego website , it does allow you to go ahead and go through the purchasing process for the 10215 despite showing it "out of stock" . Does this mean that once they are stocked they will automatically ship your order ?

Posted by Yellow in Hungary, 09 Jul 2012 04:55

A few hours ago it showed out of stock, expected shipping date July 30. Now it is available again, at least for shipping to Hungary.
@Vortex: Yes, if you can go through the purchasing process, they will ship it whenever it will be available again. But normally they used to show the expected shipping date beside out of stock.

Anyway, for this price I'm not convinced to buy this set. I prefer minifig scale SW sets, and I will need the money baaad for 2012 summer SW sets.

Posted by beegeedee in Ireland, 09 Jul 2012 08:01

Definitely coming up as 39.99 for Ireland but there's a 11.95 shipping charge and no free shipping over a certain amount. It's out of stock again as well.

Posted by ben9996 in United States, 09 Jul 2012 13:32

@hleonffu Thanks, I saw that listed for full price earlier this year but never thought to look back to see if WM put it on sale.

Posted by dylanesque in Australia, 10 Jul 2012 02:01

As usual the shipping cost here in Aus takes it to $117.49. Cheaper through the Amazon's.
