    10199: Winter Village Toy Shop
    Seasonal/Winter Village, 2009
    More details...
    ©2009 LEGO Group

In what I think is the first news of its availability outside of Japan, we've had it confirmed that the LEGO Brand Stores in Europe are expecting the 'Winter Toy Shop' to be delivered in the next few weeks. In fact, the Milton Keynes store has already had their display model delivered, although it is not on show yet!  Price is expected to be around ~£31.50UK.

No news on availability elsewhere yet, but we'll pass on anything we learn.

UPDATE - bad news on the pricing, unfortunately. The previous information we were given was a mistake; we've had it confirmed that the price will be £39.50UK. Sorry for the duff info.

awesome!
Too bad its not in the U.S. yet

Posted by xboard08 in United States, 16 Sep 2009 15:01

that set is just perfect

Posted by 18000pieces in United States, 16 Sep 2009 15:02

£31.50UK... factor in the exchange rate... plus British overpricing (I feel sorry for you).... should come to around $60 US. Definitely not bad for 815 pieces. This could make a nice consolation prize for not getting a pirates advent calendar.

Posted by GameOn99 in United States, 16 Sep 2009 15:12

Is that pounds or euros? If it is euros, the price should be about $40 in the us. That seems like a better price. I would still pay 60 though. I hope that I get this for christmas so I can build it on christmas day along with the death star.

31.50 Pounds = 52 dollars. It should be worth it, though.

Posted by Topsy Cret in Sweden, 16 Sep 2009 15:23

Yes! Score, haha! One of two things I'll have around the tree this time 'round, that and the Emerald.

Posted by Topsy Cret in Sweden, 16 Sep 2009 15:26

Wait a minute... 31.50 UK POUNDS?! WOW! That's CHEAP. Unfortunately, I have a feeling that the price will be higher in Sweden, to even out the worth. Still though... 300 SEK? I hope it doesn't get to be more that 500.

Yay! I want this really badly, it's so cool!

Posted by Unknown User2596 in United States, 16 Sep 2009 19:10

Already?
As for pricing, it might be around $70 since LEGO exclusives tend to be priced $70+......

Posted by Emerald Night in United States, 16 Sep 2009 20:34

It looks like a great set. I hope the toy shop is bigger then it looks.

Posted by 18000pieces in United States, 16 Sep 2009 20:41

I think it would have to be, for that set to contain 800+ pieces.

Posted by shenron in Finland, 17 Sep 2009 01:55

70$ for 800 pieces might look like a good deal, but it depends on how many of those pieces are useless 1x1 plates.

For reasons I can't quite fathom, I really want this !

Obviously getting sentimental in my old age...........

I think, that Winter Toy shop is not coming out in Finland. :-(

Great set! I want to buy it. I love Exclusives sets, but it's so expensive... I think 10199 will be avilable in Poland in October.

Posted by Zwing in United Kingdom, 17 Sep 2009 14:30

wow thats cheap for 815 pieces :)

Posted by legoman64 in United Kingdom, 17 Sep 2009 16:56

Bad language will not be tolerated - swear & your posts will be deleted.

There are lots of sets that have only been available in the US in recent years, which has been grossly unfair to the rest of the world. The decision not to stock some of the Advent calendars in North America was a decision by LEGO's North America division, *not* by the European HQ.

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 17 Sep 2009 17:07

Also, it's pretty certain this set will turn up in the US, Canada, Australia, etc., although it's likely it will be a LEGO Direct exclusive (i.e. Brand Stores, Imagination Centers, LEGO Store on-line).

Posted by cody516 in United States, 17 Sep 2009 21:10

ah i cant wait for this set i have only been getting star wars at the moment and then the price only around $50 that awsome and cheap too compared to the endor set

Posted by GameOn99 in United States, 17 Sep 2009 23:46

bluemoose: What do you mean unfair??!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You guys get them packaged in sweets, given away in newspapers, and get tons of awesome pieces at once to be built on a daily buisness over the course of a month once a year that we only get the same one every year that you also get.

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 18 Sep 2009 05:24

GameOn99 - I was replying to a post that was deleted, due to its content. Being in the US you probably don't notice, but the US gets more 'exclusives' than anyone else - as an example, the Brickmaster sets are not available anywhere else. There is nothing in the Pirates Advent Calendar that isn't available in other Pirates sets already.

I do not want this to turn into a discussion; this is a news service, not a discussion forum.

Here's hoping S@H availability is soon too, and that the cheap UK pricing is accurate and will be reflected on S@H elsewhere (€50 would still be good value despite being a fair bit more than the UK price equates to atm). With euro buying more pence each day, may have to do whatever it takes to procure one from the UK if the euro pricing is poor.

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 18 Sep 2009 17:26

I had the opportunity to examine the boxed set today, & learn that the the previously provided pricing information was wrong - we've had it confirmed that the price will be £39.50UK, which is still a good price, but not as great as thought.

Posted by theenigma in United Kingdom, 19 Sep 2009 02:59

Hey,

I really love the look of this set, as it happens I was visiting Bluewater today and asked if they had any in yet.

Fortunately a really nice lady had a look out in the stock room and came back with the only one they have in. This one is going to be made into the store display piece though so it's not for sale (though I did try!).
It really looked like a great set, I did enquire about price and I can't remember whether she said it was £32 or £38 (now confirmed to be £39.50) but either way it looks like a great price for 800+ pieces!

I also asked about availability and from what she had heard it looks like it will be going on sale mid to late October so it leaves a bit of space for Christmas buyers.

Cheers,

I had a feeling this was too good to be true. Still though, 40 pounds is still a VERY good price for 800 pieces, especially considering the varying new and old pieces.
