    I believe the only official image of a The Hobbit set that's surfaced is that of 79003 Bag End which LEGO posted on Facebook. However, a German toy shop website has listed the other sets, with prices:

    79000 Mystery of the Ring (€13)
    Minifigures: Bilbo Baggins, Gollum

    79001 Fleeing from the Mirkwood Spiders (€30)
    Minifigure: Bilbo Baggins

    79002 Attack of the Wargs (€60)
    Minifigures: Gandalf, Wargs (unknown amount)

    79003 Bag End (€80)
    Minifigures: Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf, Balin, Boufer, Dwalin

    79004 Escape in Barrels (€70). This may be a 'reduced availability' set. The site says 'whether we can offer this product is still uncertain'

    79010 The Orc King (€100)
    Minifigures: Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf, Orc King

They are indeed. Maybe LEGO is planning on ditching the 4 digit series for 2013 sets.

5 minifigs listed for Bag End, but 6 in the picture... Side Note: wonder what the $ prices will be. It's crazy, Orc forge costs almost 70$ here!

Those seem like incredibly high prices for sets with very few figures. A $100 set with only 3 figs? My memories of the hobbit are faded but surely some other minor characters are likely to be thrown in? Eg a couple of dwarves or orcs.

Looking forward to seeing what they make of the wargs. Potential army builder, but at $60... Perhaps not...

Hm, only one certain set with dwarfs (not including the barrel escape), and only one minifigure in the Mirkwood set? That would be strange.

I really hope bag end is the gonna be £50 which judging by the $60 price on the flickr photos, it may well be (going by the attack on weathertop pricing for the UK and USA) but now i'm feeling doubtful because this german site is listing it for 80 euros which is 20 more than their weathertop price at 60 euros. I guess i'm over analysing it and we'll never know. Especially considering LEGO's ability to increase prices before release!

well, it says the orc king set cost a 100 bucks but have only got 3 minifigs, that means it might contain a huge hopefully
well designed building ,also those 3 minifigures probably is every body who was in this scene,but i havent read the hobbit so i dont know, but this is just my thougts:)

Well we already know the Bag End set is supposed to have more minifigures than that so how much can we really trust this information? It also seems strange that there'd be two sets with just one minifigure.. LEGO would surely throw in a few more even if they aren't in that scene, wouldn't you think? The same principle as why you'd get a Princess Leia with a Y-Wing set, and so on.

It also seems strange that only two sets would be under €50. LEGO seems pretty adamant to always have a set in each price range, and this is all out of whack by comparison.

LOTR: Loads of unique figs. The Hobbit: cca 3 figs per set ( gandalf and bilbo are in almost every set ). i don't exactly trust this info, will wait for pics.

Well, it says on the site that most of the information is just speculation. They probably just named the minifigs that would most likely be included in each set (and of course they couldn't know which dwarf is going to be in what set as they're usually all together during the journey). I guess TLG is going to spread the dwarves all over the sets and perhaps put the "pairs" in the same set like they did with Bombur & Bofur and Balin & Dwalin. So I assume one set contains Nori, Dori and Ori, one Oin and Gloin and one Fili and Kili. The remaining dwarves (Thorin and Bifur) might get their "own" set or end up being in the same set as some of the other dwarves.

I bet that Lego will make you buy nearly every hobbit set to get all of the dwarves, a bit like they make you buy nearly every lotr set to get all of the fellowship.

One should note that these set descriptions are very vague and that the author states that their information on these sets is very limited. The minifig lists are just what one can gather from their descriptions, which sound more like exertions from the book. I'm guessing they only have set names and wrote down their guess of which scenes from the book the sets are supposed to represent.

The numbering makes sense, Lego has increasingly started using five-digit set numbers over the last few years. I would think the four digit set numbers are quickly running out, especially consecutive series, and so by changing to five digits they can pre-empt chaos with all numbering being random.

As for the minifig lists they seem to be incomplete, considering how the figs are a big part of the appeal of the LoTR sets.

There will be more minifigures: dwarves, goblins, and maybe an elf or two. What surprises me the most, is that there's no Rivendell set. Hopefully, that will be in the next LotR wave, then it could have Arwen, old Bilbo, and black riders. By the way, are anyone else expecting eagles in "Attack of the Wargs"?

It's the same eagles as in LotR, so if you've seen them there, you know how they will look. I'm wondering how LEGO will make them, they might use Buckbeak's wings on a new mold.

Gee, I wish they put Frodo (The Shire) in Bag End, having to buy Gandalf Arrives, if you wanted Frodo to be in this set, it would give you two Gandalves.

I'm certain the numbers are correct: this is the second source to quote them, although as it's a first for 'regular' retail sets to have 5 digit numbers, I agree they do raise suspicions.

These can't be the complete list of all the sets or figs because 2 or 3 figures with every set is really small compared with the LotR sets, and with 13 dwarfs Lego could put an exclusive one in every set so you would buy every set, and there must be some goblins with the Orc king, plus there must be a set with Smaug in it.

Sorry, I forgot it was 2 parts. Being so this list would make sense other than the figures. The barrel set is probably questionable because they are not sure whether it will be in the first half or the second half.

I don't believe it. Like, I really don't believe it. I don't think you can trust how many figs they say are in each set. I mean, they already messed up the count of figs of the set we actually have a picture of! There are six in Bag End, but they say there are only 5. I don't think we can trust them.

But I understood the description as wishful thinking. They assume the following sets to come out, cause they are key scenes of the book. And that toy shop just made up the list and description. Fanboyism's wishful thinking, nothing more.

Jackson is in talks with the studio this month (July '12) to extend the Hobbit to three movies!
There has GOT to be a Lego Beorn shape-shifter and giant eagles would be great. The palace for the elven prince of Mirkwood for the "escape in barrels" will be hot property if its a limited edition.

I can confirm the set numbers are at least are correct, but not the set names or contents. Also, it would appear that 79004 is a limited release or retailer exclusive.
