Eagle-eyed forum member Secretjedi spotted a comment on MoneySavingExpert that may have revealed the line-up and date of the next Sun LEGO promotion.

Apparently it will run between 6th and 13th October and will include the following sets:

Of course, the information may not be 100% accurate given that there's over two months until this promo starts, but what do you think of the line-up?

Update: here's a Bricklist to help you keep track.

Seems strange for there to be a potc one considering they're not making any other sets. Good though :)

Posted by granth in United Kingdom, 22 Jul 2012 16:23

The two seasonal polybags were given away with another UK paper, the Mirror, a few years back. I have both so I hope they aren't part of this promo. The rest look decent but I agree with the comment on POTC - seems odd given that it is discontinued shortly.

Sounds great to me! I will be picking up as many Uruk-Hai polybags as I can and probably a few Ghosts too, as for the rest, one will suffice of each for me I think.

I wish I lived in the UK, if it wasn't so rainy. :)

So who will be doing the TRU or WHS run when we are all in Swindon for STEAM for the first weekend?!?

Posted by supersympa in Sweden, 22 Jul 2012 16:40

they probably have a big amount of ungiven 30132 that they want to get reed of!
as for the rest...in line
but what about quinjet 30162?

Posted by atkinsar in United Kingdom, 22 Jul 2012 16:42

^^ good question! That is going to make opening weekend tricky, and let's face it, the first two are going to be two of the most desirable (assuming the running order is correct).

@ jon11380 Whats steam?

The line up sounds great! Especially City, Pirates and Monster Fighters

Posted by zraxven in United Kingdom, 22 Jul 2012 16:49

I'm slightly annoyed at the fact that there are no Star Wars sets in the mix, but the have decided to put in Pirates of the Carribean. I mean, an MTT would be nice, but surely not an unpopular genre like On Stranger Tides. I certainly hope that this isn't the list.

Posted by CapnRex101 in United Kingdom, 22 Jul 2012 16:52

@DarthLuke824 - The Lego Convention at the STEAM Museum in Swindon, held in October every year.

Posted by DarthLuke824 in United Kingdom, 22 Jul 2012 16:56

^ Ahh! Thanks, I'll take a look, see if I could go! I knew it as the Great Westen LEGO Show!

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 22 Jul 2012 16:57

Bit of a mixed bag there: some repeats from Mirror promotions, some old stuff and some very desirable.

Posted by halfpenguinhalflego in United Kingdom, 22 Jul 2012 17:06

So where is the Thor and Hawkeye polybags? I thought they would of been destined for one of these promos.

Posted by TheCahleySlash in United Kingdom, 22 Jul 2012 17:27

It is quite surprising to see a POTC figure to be released on its own without any bricks in this type of promotion. Not to mention a bit late!

I have also updated my Newspaper Index to accommodate this new information.

STEAM is the mueseum of the Great Western Railway, based in the old GWR workshops in Swindon, in England. Each year, either late September/early October members of the Brickish Association fill the mueseum with LEGO creations of every type. If you are UK based, bar the LEGO Show this is the biggest show there is.

Martin one of the Moderators is key to the set up as organiser of the show.

how exactly does one acquire these polybags ? simply by buying the newspaper or what ?

Posted by CapnRex101 in United Kingdom, 22 Jul 2012 18:24

@CDC - Yes, you just buy the newspaper and they give you the free set at the counter. There is a voucher inside to redeem. The Sun costs 30 pence on weekdays, and 60 pence at the weekend so it is very cheap indeed!

Posted by LukeSkywalker in Ireland, 22 Jul 2012 18:25

^^the usual process is buy the paper, cut out the token, and bring it to a shop (be it Tesco or Smyths or Easons in Ireland), where they exchange the token for the polybag set.
Edit: ah, you got the answer while I was typing. :)

no Star wars minis this time? thats kind of strange.

Posted by MoonKnight in United States, 22 Jul 2012 21:33

I guess this a reason to live in Europe. Lucky dogs!

Posted by Konstantin in United States, 23 Jul 2012 00:43

Where can I get them?

Posted by toon10001 in United Kingdom, 23 Jul 2012 03:34

this is ok, But the Uruk hai must be in the full one and if that ghost is removed i will smash my mtt from 2007 into a billion pieces

Posted by Delatron in United Kingdom, 23 Jul 2012 03:43

Looking forward to Uruk-hai and ghost, and the lovely friends beach set too. Best of all, those are the sets from days when i'll be able to get to a shop! That Friends set has some nice coloured elements (orange fish, purple bucket) and the LOTR and monster fighters sets will be nice army builders.

Odd to have two xmas/ winter themed sets from a previous Mirror promotion in there too, so i'm hoping this IS accurate for the ones I want.

Posted by Andhe in United Kingdom, 23 Jul 2012 04:54

Aww no superheroes? List seems a bit hit and miss. Would have hoped for another LOTR poly, seeing as pirates and HP were doubled up last time. But less interest means less mayhem! Is this over the half term?

Posted by cheshirecat in United Kingdom, 23 Jul 2012 05:11

^ No, at least for us half term isn't until Monday 22nd October, and the 6th would be very very early.

Posted by billydeewilliams in United Kingdom, 23 Jul 2012 06:07

This isn't exactly a cast-iron highly reputable source. Snowman? Christmas tree? POTC? No Star Wars? I'm not convinced.

And given the Avengers DVD will be out mid-September AND we know there are Avengers polybags it would make sense for all involved (Lego, Marvel, and The Sun) to include at least one of those.

Posted by 00cheese in United Kingdom, 23 Jul 2012 07:18

I can't wait for the ghost and the Uruk hai

Posted by Goldmatt in United States, 23 Jul 2012 08:51

@billydeewilliams Your reasoning is sound but Lego is being very strange with Super Heroes. I was convinced we were going to get TDKR set(s)? before the film was released but all we got for our trouble were pics of the minifigs at SDCC days before the release. Excellent minifigs, but still...

Posted by Doomtrool in United Kingdom, 23 Jul 2012 09:05

Hmm... no Marvel polybags. :(

Posted by coyotelily in United Kingdom, 23 Jul 2012 10:05

Gutted on holiday from the 9th!!!!!!!

Posted by beegeedee in Ireland, 25 Jul 2012 05:17

The tree is ok. It has the gold and silver 1x1 round tiles so handy way of getting them. The only other ones I'd be interested in is the ghost and the beach set...maybe the Uruk Hai but don't care so much. Also, they usually run for 9 days - saturday to sunday a week later.

Posted by arl100 in United Kingdom, 25 Jul 2012 06:35

The first two will definitely be the most useful. The Uruk-Hai will be a cheap way of building up an army, and the ghost and clock would go well inside the haunted house. The rest, however, is of little interest.

Posted by iabstract in United States, 27 Jul 2012 01:05

The ghost owns. Wish I had a way to grab a copy of the Sun.

Posted by Erinlyn80 in United States, 27 Jul 2012 19:27

I really wish this was available in the US : (

I'd really like the ghost
