    Grogall has sent us and Eurobricks hi-res photos of this year's winter village set that have surfaced on LEGO.com.

That's great, the Winter Village sets are one of the highlights of the LEGO year! It Looks a bit bigger than the Toy Shop, Bakery and Post Office.

This looks absolutely delightful, it should make a great addition to the rest of the village. I would hazard a guess at this costing around £79.99 but it will probably be higher. I like how on these models the snow always looks quite precarious, you never get a set of the aftermath when the snow begins to thaw and a few of the citizens get caught up in avalanches.

love the vehicle, figs look lame tho(torsos are very common) and the set itself, sure its lovely i'd probably buy it but the price tag is ridiculous :/

Look at all those 1x1 tile pieces! I'm going to drive myself crazy trying to line them all up straight. I'm also wondering what surprise is waiting behind that second floor window. It appears to be hinged, but the opening looks blocked off with some plates from the other side. Overall, it looks like a great addition to the winter village series.

-Fireplace design
-Snowplow (Awesome vintage look!)

Yes, it looks nice, but I wish it was a smaller set. I have 3 kids and 2 birthdays in the fall. I bought the first two sets, because they were such a nice family tradition to put together as a family. The third set I thought was too expensive considering the piece count was pretty much the same as the toy shop. I do really love all the detail on the cottage, but I would really like this set for me and the Haunted House. This is a big jump in price, at a time of year I have bdays and Christmas to think about. I would have rather seen them have a similar theme to past years, with a small cottage, and maybe the plow. Scrap the igloo and woodshack? They could have moved the price point down to keep it on par with the other sets.

Not my personal favorite, not that is bad (its still really good) but the others I think are better in my opinion. I agree though, the price seems $10-$20 too much, and most of us would have preferred a less expensive set. Some of the minifigs could have been cut (especially those that seem to have torsos and heads already in the other winter village other sets). On the other hand, we do get some more of the new skis, and in a new color too.

Interesting how the first two sets had normal snow, last year's had partially melted snow, and this one features heavy snowfall.

Very nice looking. Love the cottage, igloo and 30's(?) looking truck/snow plow. Fine addition to the Winter Village line. I still adore the first one and I'd love to add this into the display for Xmas!
Little too high (the price to parts is fine) but just wanting/budgeting for other sets. I'd like Lego to keep these great Winter Village sets around $60 - $75...but regardless of my budgeting, I'd want this set eventually.

Well, well, what do you know? Yet another fantastic addition to the Winter Village line, and the best one yet besides, in my opinion. It also appears to be the biggest of all of them, along with the most detailed. I'm loving every aspect of it, including that awesome tiled floor in the kitchen! Man, now I sound like those people on HGTV... ;)

The one downside could be price... Along with the size, it could very well be quite expensive. Another minor thing is the patchwork interior side of the roof. I'll probably mod that with some brown pieces, to try and get a "wood roof" feel...

Still, it looks great! Personally, for what you get with it, 100 dollars really doesn't seem like that bad a price... especially when compared to some LEGO Star Wars sets this year, i.e. Jabba's Palace. Besides that, Winter Village sets have always been a pretty good value in the past, and this one looks to be following that trend.

It's great to finally see pictures of this set! I like it, although not as much as the Toy Shop or Bakery, and will most definitely need get it to display with my other Winter Village sets. One problem with this set is that it seems bigger than the previous three, so I might need to find a bigger spot to put this series come winter.

$100 for almost 1500 pieces seems pretty reasonable to me, and contrary to what most others are saying I'm glad the piece count has gone up. I love all the wv sets so far and can't wait to get this one, I'm also glad they were able to keep the scale the same while almost doubling the piece count.

One thing puzzles me: if they gave the figures proper skis, why didn't they give them proper ski-poles? Tbh, I'm not crazy about this one, the windows bother me for some reason, and there's too much snow, that will have to be modified by replacing one of the layers with pieces to show off the gable better. I love the interior though. I'll probably like it more when I see it in person i.e. after I get to build it myself.

I've loved all the winter sets up until now, but this set isn't very striking. Those minifig torsos and such have been around for a very long while and can be had at the Build-A-Mini stations. Although I love the sand blue bricks I would have liked to see a different color for the cottage, maybe an earth-tone would have been better. If this set is very close to 1500 pieces then it seems like a lot of that was designed into the heavy snow on the roof and that is very disappointing.

Hmm... I'm not overly impressed. Don't get me wrong, I'll buy this set as I have the previous Winter themed display sets. 2012 is just a very tough year, and for people like me increasing my spending budget isn't the most obvious choice. I'm not too happy with the price increase, especially where it will probably stand in Canadian dollars. Lego direct sets are hard enough to get for a bargain... but when you're Canadian the only choice you have when buying from Lego is trying not to lose your pants!

The model looks well built, but again, I'm not that interested in the overall design. The truck is the only thing from the provided picture that strikes me as unique. There might be the odd minifigure torso here and there... but the city minifigures are really beginning to feel over-used. I have too many females looking posh with their pink scarf and grey dress coat.

If before seeing this photo I'd been caught saying I wasn't anticipating the fourth winter themed set I'd be called a liar. Now, whether my wallet is just sqeezed too tight, I'm not in a very "lego-friendly" mood.

It's a very nice set. I really like the snow plow and the cozy interior.

I'm really hoping we'll get a train station next year. There's been a few great winter train station MOCs recently, and I'd love to have an official one. After all, how else are all the friends and family supposed to get into our winter village?

A juzgar por la foto, los anteriores tiene mejor clima y son mas especiales. Ojalá me equivoque.

Nice enough but I'm worried that this set shows off the other problem I've been seeing in recent sets besides price increases - partflation ("using many small parts instead of using fewer large parts" and also "adding extra small part decor").

For example the 1x1 tiles on the floor of the kitchen in this set make up almost 5% of the total pieces (71 1x1 tiles).

Looks nice, but as already said I'd have ditched some of the generic figures and superfluous buildings (nice as the buildings are) to drop the price point by about 20. A lot of people buy these as a Christmas tradition, which at 50 is acceptable, but at 100 the price seems to be slowly creeping up. Next year- winter village workshop, price $150....

@ orangechef - I've noticed the same thing. They've also done it with the rediculously thick roof :(
As much as i'd love to have a completed lego winter village collection, I just can't see how i'll afford it at that time of year. And even if I could afford it, I don't think the value is good enough - yes it may be in terms of price per piece but that's because there are so many tiny unnecessary pieces used to fool everyone into thinking the value is good.

a tad too similar to the other winter sets for me, and also not keen on the price increase. Unless you're spending thousands on lego, then you do need to be reasonably choosy given the wonderful selection of sets available. These winter ones are sets that I am prepared to leave for others.

Compared to the former years winterset, I think this one lacks atmosphere and charm ... beside the '40 truck (which is excellent) the set altogether seems a bit dull :-/

Partflation is possible, but it's not like they are trying to add tiny parts to hover around 10 cents per piece. Even if you put all the tiny pieces together, I think this set would still end up around 10 cents a piece.

Plus, like with real construction, you have to use individual tiles to get the great effect. No big printed floor tile would look near as good as that blue and white checkerboard of 1x1s.

Oh God, I will need to adjust all those 1x1s!

^^ I honestly don't see how you can consider these overpriced. They give a lot of minifigures, relatively cool parts and a good ppp ratio.

I can see them being market-wrong in the price department, as others have said. I think they should be shooting for more of the $50-$60 range, but again, as they are, they are good value sets imho.

It looks very nice, but as most people have said, its over priced. I can understand the higher price of the licensed themes, but why the products that don't need one?
It may have a high part count but most of these are small 1x1s or standard parts which don't need any new or special mouldings.

^^ The minifigs are nice and all, but I'd much rather reduce the number of them to save a few bucks on the cost. I know the idea is to properly populate the village, but given the cost, eight minifigs in a set this size is a bit much.

I also agree about the thick roof, and I'm not a fan of the igloo. It's a very cute idea, but it looks more like a Tattooine home in white. Besides, do people outside of the Arctic really build igloos?

I wish it cost less, but I can't say I won't buy it.

Expensive? Perhaps, but not prohibitive, especially if I use my VIP points, (my annual treat!)

Thick snow? Well, you wouldn't need the snowplough if it was just a dusting!

Lots of 1x1 tiles? Nice effect though!

An igloo? Superfluous, but not offensive.

'Wands' instead of ski-poles? At least the skis are the new type... halfway there!

Inside of the cottage roof? WTF! WHY IS THERE SNOW ON THE INSIDE OF THE ROOF! THIS LOOKS SO UNTIDY COMPARED TO THE REST OF THE MODEL!!!!!!!

.....and breathe.....

-A proper roof surface colour before the white snow plates are layered on top.

I love the design but the light blue is weird for a cottage. Its all a bit too much of a colour mash up.

Think ill pass on this set. Another expensive useless light brick. Is that 4 in a row? Do me a favour and put in some printed bricks instead of stickers and perhaps loose a few of the figs which the torso's have been used in older sets. It would perhaps bring the price down. Having said that some comments ive read on various sites people say they are not exactly thrilled about the price but will still purchase it. TLG will love reading and hearing this. Expect next years set to go up in price again!

On a positive note I do like the design of the truck and the interior is quite cheerful I suppose. Sadly not impressed enough to part with my money. :(

I have bought each one and love them. They are proudly displayed below my Christmas tree every year... under my Santa Fe train set or the Create My Own Train 9V. This set will join them and will be awesome. It is a little overpriced... but it is very unique for Lego standards and I don't mind paying a little extra for these types of sets. We are truly in the golden age of Lego.

Ack! After the brilliant design and lovely colours of last year's Winter Post office, this looks like a poor runner-up in a MOC contest. It's blocky and top-heavy. It will be the first in the series I will skip.

I do like the igloo - but I can make that from parts.

The truck and igloo are nice touches. Interior of the house is very well done. The snow roof seems strange, like others state a bit thick but will have to see in person for a better view. Like the incorporation of the new brick element that looks like brickwork on the chimney. Saw those on the upcoming haunted house and I hope they produce that brick in different colors and make available on the online pick a brick or on the PAB wall in the store.

Everything looks nice especially the interior. However I think the light blue bricks made the cottage looks rather strange.. maybe I just need some time to grow into it. Is it the same blue brick used in the Creator sand house?

I really love this set, but it's extremely disappointing. As someone else said, these are a Christmas tradition, which when they were 50$ were awesome! Then they became 70$, which was really pushing it. Now 100$? The only way I would ever get this is if this is my ''big present'' for Christmas, which means I'd have to wait another year for it to be part of my village. I'll have to start sending my mom hoards of pictures of this set now, because it'll take me 4 months to convince her to spend 100 dollars for a Lego set...before Christmas :/
EDIT: But besides the price, this model may be my favorite. I love all the little details like the igloo and the woodshed, not to mention the kitchen in the house! I just wish they'd made the roof a little thinner, it would've brought down the price :P

I liked the truck and the details inside the cottage..... The roof should look better if it is partial red, and covered partially with snow......Neverhteless, i'll will proably still buy this set. Hope the price can be reasonable

Wow, this set looks great! The interior actually looks nice, (except for the ceilings for the first floor and loft.... they have SNOW in thier house....) the Brick pieces on the fireplace look great... but why would Lego ruin the idea of Santa bringing toys? It seems like old grandpa is putting them down.... WHY!?

I like this set, but why is there no back to the cottage? Surely Lego could've made it differently, so that it contained a back as like someone said above - they have SNOW in their house.
