Good eyes Nori! Is that also a first look at the new Ninjago figs? The red and black one.

Also the Swat guy top left I guess confirms the Police SUV rumours.

Heard the Chima figs are headgear rather than fully moulded heads. Looks great.

New Ninjago Kai.

Think the SWAT Guy is from LEGO City Undercover for the Wii U, also.

LoC fig looks... interesting. A SWAT theme, SWEET!

Another clanger from a retailer listing something too early. As if anyone will pre-order this far in advance for a sticker book.

the SWAT minifig's name is Chase Mccain, from the new wii U game LEGO city: undercover.
EDIT: whoops, missed the comment 4 above... but he has a name!

Isn't Kai's outfit the same as the exclusive Lloyd minifigure's outfit!? Does that mean that'll be the design for the 2013 NinjaGo outfits? Interesting... I'm starting to wonder if Lego plans on running NinjaGo and Legends of Chima side-by-side to see which is more popular. Internal competition is never something I'd suggest, but in the long run it's better then losing NinjaGo for something kids might not even like. There's not just a theme to fill, Legends of Chima will also have to do well in the assorted junk market too (tops, cards, etc).

Lots of detail in the LoC minifig... although these days I'm starting to prefer proper minifigure heads because I hate seeing little single piece plastic bags when I open my lego boxes.

that police man and ninja are strange

Reading the description of it "as well as all the latest licensed characters, including Jedi, super heroes, space rangers"
Space rangers? Licensed theme? Are they already a faction in one of LEGO's many licenses?

Posted by The_Creator in United States, 13 Sep 2012 14:10

@half penguin half lego
If Space Rangers is a LEGO non-licensed theme that sounds sweet!

Posted by TheKingOfBuilding in United Kingdom, 13 Sep 2012 14:15

@halfpenguinhalflego I think by "space rangers" they mean Buzz Lightyear, or the series 7 Galaxy Patrol minifig.

@halfpenguinhalflego
This is a longshot, but it could refer to the new Space theme rumored for 2013.

Just seems strange it comes after licensed themes in the list.

That swat guy is in a future batman set, remember what we saw at comic-con?

I like the new Kai, and I hope Ninjago stays around. I just want the tv show to return.

Me to Ninjago is awesome i want to stay

The legends of Chima doesn't even sound that cool.

Posted by Shrimplovin96 in Australia, 13 Sep 2012 19:08

The swat guy wouldn't be from Batman... he has yellow skin...

Nice, that lion dude looks pretty awesome. My estimations for Legend of Chima purchases just went up by a factor squared. The idea of humanoid animals with a action/card game didn't appeal to me but it's all different when the minifigs look so cool. This guy reminds me of Thundercats Lion-O a little.

Interesting that there are not any Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) on the cover! A bit surprising if this is supposed to be a licensed theme for next year?!

Arrrgh! I must have gotten there too late because amazon removed the pic :/
