    7807: Airliner

A while ago we asked the LEGO community team to find out about some of the polybags that we have listed but don't know if and when they were available. This is obviously important information if you're a polybag completest (eh, atkinsar...)

Today we received information about them, as follows:

    • 7806 and 7807 which were at one time listed in the LEGO replacement parts system, were never produced.
    • 4897, 76127796, 30016, 30022 were never produced but instructions are available at LEGO.com so you can make your own (I made the bee a while ago).
    • 30036 was produced but seems to be incredibly rare. There is one listed on BrickLink and only one has been sold in the last 6 months.

I've created an advanced query 'sets that were never released' that shows these and all the other sets that have appeared in printed material at LEGO.com but never saw the light of day.

The airliner, 7807, is a particularly nice model, isn't it. I guess like the others, it was designed but never selected for co-promotion by LEGO partners.

(Thanks to Jan and Kim at LEGO for assisting with our enquiries, I'm sure we'll have more questions soon!)

is 7897 a typo?

great info otherwise. i like that airliner, and it should be pretty easy to assemble without instructions.

7807 is pretty similar to what my kids come up with everyday. Simple, but very effective.

Whoops, yes a typo. I'll correct layer, it a bit difficult on a iPad...

I love that bee set, it's cute.

I really wished the satelite one was made, the 8 1x4 blue tiles would have been nice.

Do not forget who sold you the set. ;-)

But yes, 30036 is rare, it was awarded as a prize in LEGOLAND Billund at The Pirates Games last year.

^ Thanks for that, I've made a note on the set entry.

Oops does that mean that CITY sets 4934,4933 and 5642 were released as they have never been available, Huw maybe you can ask the LEGO guys what happened with these CITY sets specifically as I would love to know where, when and to whom they were released to. Instructions to 4642 exist but none for 4934 and 4933???

^ Would love to now that to, I collect all lego city sets sinds the beginning and could never find these sets, if the sets 4933, 4934 and 5642 were not released like sets 4897 and 30016, it would really solve the mystery.

Thanks for providing this info, very interesting for us polybag collectors.

^^ I would say 4933, 4934 were never released given none have ever been sold at BrickLink. There appears to be a complete 5642 available at BrickLink in Israel so I guess it could have been available somewhere 'obscure' like that.

Huw, how about 5372?

Posted by af.riem in Netherlands, 29 Sep 2012 04:26

^ BRICKIPEDIA: 5372 Skeleton Chariot is a Castle set, that was scheduled to be released in 2007, but was delayed until 2009, when it was added to the Castle Brickmaster Creation Book set. The set would have contained pieces to build a skeleton chariot, and a Skeleton Warrior minifigure. Even though the set was never actually released as its own set in the end, it appeared on LEGO.com in 2007 stating that it was going to be produced within a 2007 wave with other sets.

^^^ Lego set 5642 on Bricklink has been put on the site again a little while ago, but the seller used to say that the set had a copie of instructions (that's why I did not buy it).
