    The LEGO Inside Tour dates for 2013 were announced at midday (London time) today, and registration is now open.

    The dates are as follows:

    - May 29th – 31st
    - June 12th – 14th
    - June 19th – 21st


    It's an expensive event, but a once-in-a-lifetime experience that shouldn't be missed. If you're thinking of going you should register for a place right away: there are only 25 places on each tour and they sell out quickly.

    The cost is 13000 DKK which is approximately £1300 / US$2400 / €1700.

It doesn't say where but assume in Denmark at the factory ?

yes, it is in Billund, I am planning to do it with my son, but will wait a couple of years before we do it.

I'm astonished how LEGO can justify those prices. It's just taking advantage of exclusive the opportunity is.

It's not that bad actually when you consider the room rate is £130 per night = £390, and you don't get much change from £100 for a meal for 2 in the hotel. Stuff in Denmark is expensive...

The price is set to limit demand I suspect, it's a sellers market in this instance, for sure.

.. well after my first comment of £1300 ?! .. I had to have a look and see what it includes. So following is stated on the form, so not so bad. Prices are per individual so the same for a child :( There are some very lucky children if they get to go :D

The price includes among other things:
o Hotel LEGOLAND® accommodation from Tuesday to Friday
o Breakfast Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Lunch Thursday and Friday, Dinner Wednesday and Thursday (beverages included all the meals)
o LEGO Factory tour
o LEGOLAND® Back Stage Tour
o Building event and social networking with LEGO Designers
o Visit to the Idea House (the original house of Ole Kirk Christiansen)
o Special LEGO® Inside Tour gift

I remember going to Legoland Denmark in 1990 and it cost a fortune then and a can remember paying nearly £3 for a pint of larger in the hotel.
This is a one off experience and I would love the chance to go but just think of all that Lego you could buy with £1300 plus your travel to and from Denmark.

Hello everyone! I think it's a great experience. Even if you just walk through the streets and observe their windows full of built sets,oth in current and historical location... YES! I've been @ Legoland Billund just 2 weeks ago... What a delight!!!
I can confirm stuff is very expensive:
Three nights in Hotel Legoland costed 350€/person on mid september... We choose Legoland Village, same amount but two people :-)
Their dining buffets start from 24€/person (beverages are apart), but eating an hamburger or fish&chips + coke in Legoland was about 16€ per person. Finally, entrance is 55€/person 2 days.
Yeah, you buy the exlusive tour. I want to come back to Legoland!!!!!!!!

 So don't worry about not speaking danish - You are not the only one.

No, there is a minimum age (something like 8 from memory?) Health & Safety strikes again. And they'd probably still charge the £1400 for the baby even if you could!

I remember seeing this for the first time online, maybe last year? I have to agree with what seems like the majority here. A huge price to pay, for albeit, a very exclusive and fun LEGO event. When you add in the cost to travel to and from Denmark, taking time off of work, school or whatever, and so on and so forth you are looking at a huuuuuge cost to build and talk to the designers?

I think the uniqueness of this really is intriguing, followed closely by the exclusive set you get which is only made for those on this tour. Plus, how many people can say that they have done exactly these things for two and a half days?

I used to live in Denmark, and more recently went back to visit, and in fact went to Billund. I can attest the cost of living there is almost the highest in Europe! So in all actuality the price of this tour is not "unreasonable".

With that said, I do not have my finger on the send button for the email to reserve my place, let alone one for my fiancee which means X2 the cost. However, this is one of those ideas, goals that you tend to think of from time to time....

I believe it's still possible for AFoL groups to book factory tours, visits to the idea house, the museum and such like through Lego's community team. It's free but you have to pay for your own accomodation, food and admission to LLB (and like the inside tour you still have to pay for your travel). No exclusive set, but overall it costs much less and you already know the people you're doing the tours with . . .

@Chocolate Great input... Though the luxury and exclusive gift trickers the by far most exciting part is the "behind the scenes" on factory, museum etc. Anyone LUGS done such FACTORY TOUR lately?

I can attest to the fact that the cost of living is sky-high in Denmark for some things, although I found the standard of living to be very good too, so you get what you pay for!

I would love to do the tour but with a 10th wedding anniversery next year and my best mate's wedding in Australia the year after I think my foreign travel is decided on for the next few years.

£1300 per person is not that bad - it is quite inclusive of accommodation and food
but for a family of 4 - for example that would be £3200
they you'd have to factor in getting there too - flights? another £800 or so if you're lucky...

so already looking at £4000+

£4000 for 4 days..... hmmmm

for £4000 a family of 4 can spend @ 10 days perhaps stretch to 2 weeks in Florida visiting quite a few parks and the new legoland there to boot...

I went to the Lego Inside tour last year in June and it was amazing. If you have the money, go. A true once in a lifetime experience seriously. I can go on and on talking about it. You do so much in such a short amount of time. From building and having time to talk to lego designers, to touring factories and such, to meeting and talking to the CEO of Lego. I would go again. It sets up life connections if you have any desire to work for TLG, this will give you an upper advantage.

My wife and I are looking at a carribean cruise from Miami with our kids for about £4000 quid including a few days in miami and return flights - around 2 weeks total, over Christmas. It's a lot of money for a few days.

I went this year and it is worth every penny. They treat you like royalty. They give you freebies, you visit the vault, build and talk with the designers, shop in the lego employee shop and so much more. The tour went up 1000DKK but they give you an extra night in the hotel which i had to pay for anyway this year. The exclusive sets are always awesome and are linked to the history of the company in some way, this years was the first airplane TLG everbought and a replica of the billund control tower from the 50s. I am definetly going back when my kids are 12 or 13. I would recommend not taking a child under 10. Dont wait if you want to go in 2013 the spots fill up fast but Camilla and Sanne are great tour organizers so they will try their besttogetyou a spot.
