Exclusive Top Gear Stig keyring available

LEGO Stig keyringIf you're a fan of the TV series Top Gear, you'll want to grab this LEGO Stig keyring, which is available as an offer for Top Gear magazine readers.

There are 10,000 available and one can be yours for just £2.49, from here. Offer is only available to UK residents, unfortunately.

A promotional code is needed to be able to place an order, which is presumably printed in the magazine. I'm not going to publish it here -- it would be wrong of me to undermine the offer --however less scrupulous sites have done so, so head on over to this one to find out what it is.

Thanks to Lunchie for the news.

I had to check, but I'm pretty sure it's not April 1st.

Posted by voyanuitoa in United Kingdom, 11 Oct 2012 05:44

Probably worth mentioning that you can only order a maximum of 5 per order. It is also only available to UK residents.

Posted by Zoufalec in N/A, 11 Oct 2012 05:54

UK only...of course :(

Posted by Plasmodium in United Kingdom, 11 Oct 2012 06:39

That is, in the words of Bill and Ted, "most excellent". I know it's only a plain white fig with a black visor, but...still...
I think I need to come up with a reason why I need a keyring now. :P

UK only! Many thanks!

Posted by Nesquik in United Kingdom, 11 Oct 2012 07:00

Unless the back of the torso has some printing, this is largely free of any value.

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 11 Oct 2012 07:02

Indeed, and it'll be Chinese-plastic as well making it of even less value.

Posted by Starik20X7 in Australia, 11 Oct 2012 07:03

What's under the visor? Blank head? Unique head? Generic head?

Posted by TyoSolo in United Kingdom, 11 Oct 2012 07:07

It's on page 60 if anyone buys the mag. I'm sure there will be some sort of Top Gear branding. I'll let you know when mine arrives.

Posted by Plasmodium in United Kingdom, 11 Oct 2012 07:11

@Starik20X7: Possibly Britain's best kept secret is the identity of the Stig, so I can't imagine what it'll be. :P
@TyoSolo: Probably another tag which says 'Top Gear' or something, like the 'Orlando' one in the 'New in the Database' bar.

@Starik20X7: Female head

Be wary folks - this is an unverified site that asks for your credit card details.
PASS

Posted by paul_merton in United Kingdom, 11 Oct 2012 07:37

What do you mean by unverified?

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 11 Oct 2012 07:44

I'm getting inundated with requests for the code!

Here's a clue to hopefully save some of you emailing me

6 letters: Initials of the magazine followed by the name of our favourite toy, all in upper case.

Posted by Plasmodium in United Kingdom, 11 Oct 2012 07:45

^Thanks!
@Si_Dorking_Surrey: The site does have the 'Verified by Visa' link thingy...

Posted by paul_merton in United Kingdom, 11 Oct 2012 07:48

I was just about to ask Huw for the code, but then I noticed it is hidden in the client-side JavaScript :)

(Doesn't instill much confidence when you're entering your card details into a site...)

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 11 Oct 2012 07:57

^Doh! Luckily it's a different site that you enter cc details into.

The initial stock of 10000 is going to plummet today! The Brickset effect strikes again!

It comes up with a lego search on hukd too, so it won't last long.

I just checked. This is the second hottest thing on HUKD today. I wonder how many will be left for people that actually buy the magazine?

Posted by Russell844 in United States, 11 Oct 2012 13:38

The site let me place an order from the USA. It even had United States listed as an available country when it verified my payment info. I am curious to see if the order actually goes through.

Posted by jadblz in United States, 11 Oct 2012 18:52

Well the fine print reads only avail to UK residents... Or I would have gone for it, I love the show!
Too bad there aren't any of Richard, Jeremy or James.... I'd have to brick link those for sure.

Posted by lukehankenobi in United Kingdom, 12 Oct 2012 01:31

Just ordered mine

Posted by Lunchie in United Kingdom, 12 Oct 2012 07:15

I see they've now reduced the maximum order number to 2 per order.

Despite ordering mine as I sent the original message about this I've not received and e-mail confirmation, nor has any payment been taken yet :o(

Mine has arrived! No Top Gear logo on the figure, but keyring sticky label does feature Lego and on the reverse states Top Gear. Helmet does not remove and the visor does not flip up.

Anyway, happy days - an official Lego Stig.
