Brickish Association member Jonathan visited a Toys R Us today and spotted boxes marked "Daily Mirror/LEGO" which would tend to suggest that there's another promotion imminent. The boxes he identified were of Tractor 4899, Road Roller 30003 and Lizard 7804. It may well start this weekend or next, so keep an eye out. If it's anything like the last one, you'll be able to pick up these sets in TRU and W H Smiths.

I will have to look for that when i go to town to try and get the brickmaster pirate book.

I have deleted all posts that contain rants and raves about these sets not appearing in the US. You don't see complaints from other Brickset members located in different countries who also don't have access to this promotion. Suggest you take it up directly with LEGO themselves.

I'm not sure that the Daily Mirror would do another lego give away so close to the other star wars give away. Maybe its going to be a monthly thing?:-) If it is true than i'll be getting all of them

also, theres nothing on the Daily Mirror website at the moment, probably because they're already doing another give away at the moment.

Is this the wrong place to ask, but has anyone received sets from the last promotion yet, i was away on holidy so had to mail off for them? Either way i have been wondering how i was going to get these sets -so this would be fab...its always difficult to collect city when they have all the little promo sets, but they are so good i just need to keep trying!

I wonder if its more like the darth vader promotion, spend x amount on lego and get a free set. My reasoining is that in my Norwich TRU lego is sold on the back shelves, but recently they have been making a huge lego promotional display in the main entrance area where in the past they have promoted star wars and then transformers stuff, so I think lego are going to get pride of place.

Also have you seen the lego gift shop http://shop.lego.com/HolidayShop/festivefun.aspx we are going to be able to buy something each week. Dont know if this is going to be new 2010 sets or promotional sets.

simonskluk - my package of LEGO Star Wars sets arrived yesterday morning.

Can't wait to see what other promotional sets will be included in this new Daily Mirror offer! I guess the Mirror enjoys the surge in sales they get when they do these things :-)

My package of 6 sets plus carry box arrived about a week ago, so you should hopefully get yours soon, simonskluk.

Regarding a new Mirror promotion, I agree with voyanui8768I that it seems a bit soon after the last one. Perhaps it's like buses - you wait for ages and then 2 come along at once ! That having been said, I bet the Mirror sold double the usual numbers during the Star Wars promotion, so that's a big incentive to do something similar again. I don't think a Lego City giveaway would create quite the same buzz, but it'd still shift extra papers.

I've received one of the two I sent off for on Wednesday this week so it looks as if they are trickling out now.

@DrDave, I would agree about the timing although if it is popular and successful for them it makes sense to get another promotion in now just before Christmas; it was this time of year last year they did the one before Star Wars, wasn't it? [Edit... yes it was, a year ago this weekend: http://www.brickset.com/news/article/?ID=172]

Yes my TRU in Edinburgh has a huge lego display as well but no lego in it yet...will have to keep an eye out for that i think keithkram is right....lego should do a special for brickset members!

This is almost the same time the City/Creator one last year occured. I hope there are only a few good sets, as I don't want to spend another £8 on buying the whole collection, especially seeing as it is the Mirror. Were it the Mail or Sun I might be more inclined, but the Mirror is awful...
By the way, by Star Wars one came earlier this week. I didn't get the sticker sheet or poster, annoyingly. At least I got the actual Lego, though.

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 16 Oct 2009 11:00

@legoguysw, the stickers and poster were in with the paper on the appropriate day hence not being included in the pack.

@keithkram, thanks for the info on the holiday shop. I hadn't noticed that. I wonder what the deal is? Wonder why the dates are in the wrong format on the UK shop? :-)

Posted by atkinsar in United Kingdom, 16 Oct 2009 12:11

@keithkram and @Huw, regarding the holiday shop, the way I read it, it's not going to be models available to buy just links to ideas of models to build with your bricks - the link to get to that page on the LEGO site states 'Download inspirational ideas to make the most of your LEGO bricks!'. http://shop.lego.com/HolidayShop/

Posted by keithkram in United Kingdom, 16 Oct 2009 14:23

@atkinsar I see what you mean, thats a a lot of fuss for nothing on their web site.

Posted by voyanui8768 in United Kingdom, 16 Oct 2009 15:25

I don't think this promotion will start this weekend - with the Star Wars one there were adverts on the tv and pictures all over the mirror website. Some people in U.K. may be disapointed but hopefully it might happen next week.

Posted by legoguysw in United Kingdom, 17 Oct 2009 05:04

Ah, thanks Huw. I had presumed the stickers and poster would be send-offs too. Not that it matters, I'm more interested in the actual models.

This new promotion looks interesting, I'm especially interested in the tan Fedora in the Tractor set.

Nothing in today's paper, only some boring Beatles book or something. Hopefully next week, then...

Posted by jonbuddy in United States, 18 Oct 2009 14:47

@Huw, 'boring Beatles book'? Do you mean to say that you dislike the Beatles? I live in the US and I love the Beatles!

Posted by legoguysw in United Kingdom, 19 Oct 2009 10:59

''Help! I need somebody...''
The Beatles are great, I must say.
Strange, this things been pretty quiet over the last couple of days. I hope more information will come soon...
