    More details...

Each month, the LEGO Brand Stores in the US, UK & Germany have an in-store promotion called the 'Monthly Mini Model Build' (MMMB), where customers aged between 6 and 14 get the opportunity to build and take home a small model. In the UK this happens on the first Thursday of every month, in-store between 4pm & 6pm.  The Brand Stores also occasionally do extra promotional MMMBs - back in April 2009 there were 3 MMMBs in the US stores !

Usually the model is the same in all the stores, and they reflect a seasonal topic; however, due to cultural differences between countries, they are occasionally different - in July 2009 the US stores had a US Flag to build, while the European stores had an ice cream cone; in November 2009, the next MMMB, the US will have a turkey (for Thanksgiving), while the UK will have fireworks (for Guy Fawkes night).

Most of the MMMB sets have had 'build cards' provided with them. These show a picture of the finished model on one side, and a list of the bricks used to build it on the back.

I've added a list of the MMMB models so far to the database to help those lucky enough to be near a store to keep track of their sets. My favourite so far is easily the lobster.

Thanks to flickr user 'TooMuchDew' for allowing me to use some of his photos of the build cards.

Hee hee, I like the lobster the best, too. He's so awesome! But the bunny is a close second...

This is another reason for me to be sad that I don't live next to a Lego store...

I wish they would open the MMMB's for adults to participate as well. I realize that 6-14 is Lego's target age, but there are many adult Lego fans who would love to take part too. Oh well...

The rabbit scares me!!!!I like the lobster the most as he is very similar to the actual thing.

Wow, those models are quite amazing! I like the lobster too, it's very much like the real thing!

I wish the DT Disney Lego store was just a little closer - we never have time to go all the way down to Orlando to get there, though.

I like the Lobster as well, although i'm certainly looking forward to seeing how they'll do fireworks...

I collect the minibuilds for a mothly hobby and love em'. Just started at the end of april and got the little house, one of the three that was mentioned.

A lot of the models are really great, so I can't really pick a favorite. I like the Ice Cream, it has some great parts, and I like the house to.

I would suggest making instructions/.ldr files for these MMMb sets. I made an .ldr file for the pumpkin http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/miskox/tmp/mmmb_200910.ldr

It is based on bluemoose's video. It is missing 30176 bamboo leaves (I have no 30176.dat file).

Is there an interest to make other instructions?

Here is a version I made in june when I first saw the ice cream on LEGO.com site. Now that I have the parts list (thanks to TooMuchDews scan) I will update this .ldr file soon.
