    Thanks to everyone who emailed to tell me about this yesterday. Unfortunately I've been away on business and didn't get a chance to post an article about it until now.

    So better late than never, check out your local store and see what's left. My experience has been that even huge Sainsburys stores don't carry very much LEGO beyond Bionicle so don't get your hopes up. The offer is also available online but everything is now sold out!

Everything was sold out online pretty much as soon as this promotion was announced....... So either the whole world logged on to their website and cleared them out within a couple of hours yesterday morning (yeah, right) or else they had little or no stock to begin with......

Great way of getting people to visit your website without having to let them get anything on the cheap, anyway, which a cynic might suggest was the whole point of the exercise.

I managed to get a couple of small Star Wars sets and Creator packs cheap this morning on my way to work. There wasn't much else left though and I suspect it'd all be gone if I went back tomorrow morning. Still a good chance for some Christmas stocking fillers with other toys though.

you lucky stiffs. we dont ever get half offs on all legos here in the US. its either less than 50% on clearance for SELECT sets, under certain conditions sometimes

They might have been reducing the price by 50% but there was an almighty mark up before hand, an example is a city set which sells at lego.com for £19 was marked up to £35 before being reduced to £17.50. I don't know how there allowed to do this but they always do.

Hmmm.. All of a sudden, Sainsbury's have got all their LEGO in stock, at exactly the same time that the half price offer was lifted. Sounds a little suspicious to me.

On a side note, Sainsbury's have some official LEGO torches not featured in your database, here's one of them (I realise this isn't really on topic, so delete this if you wish)
