Any word about S@H availability in the U.S.?

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 10 Nov 2009 15:44

They are 'Brickmaster' sets in the US, both labelled as being 'Brickmaster Exclusives', so I doubt they will be available to buy through LEGO Store on-line ... a lot of Brickmaster subscribers will be pretty upset if they do.

Posted by iabstract in United States, 10 Nov 2009 15:52

Being a Brickmaster subscriber, I would have to concur with bluemoose. I would find it a bit frustrating if they made the sets available here. Personally, I don't see why they don't let international customers subscribe to Brickmaster. Judging from the response on Brickset along, there would certainly seem to be enough people interested to justify it. Haven't received the Gunship set yet, either. Hmm.

Edit:
Looking up the sets on S@H US, they are currently unavailable in the US. It also has this disclaimer at the bottom that I would assume applies to all regions:

LEGO Club Exclusives are only available to LEGO Club members from launch for a period of six weeks. If you would like to purchase this product between 9th November and 21st December 2009 someone in your household must be a member of the LEGO Club. If you would like to register your child for LEGO Club membership please add this product to your shopping cart and fill in the LEGO Club membership form at the end of checkout. If someone in your household is already a LEGO Club member, please add this item to your cart and proceed as usual.

Spoke too soon. Got my Brickmaster set today. Woot.

Posted by ET in United States, 11 Nov 2009 00:48

Want. You lucky UKers get all the good stuff.

Posted by Johnnus in Australia, 11 Nov 2009 06:18

that is SO unfair
the USA gets the brickmaster subscription
and the UK gets the chance to buy to brickmaster sets of S@H
what about the rest of the world?

Posted by clone commander trainrex in United States, 11 Nov 2009 06:31

@Johnnus Lego just doesn't realize that the rest of the world would buy things like Brickmaster

Posted by dfenz in Ireland, 11 Nov 2009 07:38

These sets are also available in Ireland to Lego Club members (@€5.99 each plus postage)

Posted by Batmaniam in Canada, 11 Nov 2009 12:24

They should bring brickmaster to Canada.

Posted by BIONICLEGuy in United Kingdom, 11 Nov 2009 12:49

You can get them with Brickmaster or LEGO Club in UK & Ireland!

Posted by iabstract in United States, 11 Nov 2009 14:11

The only thing I can think is that they (Lego) deemed it too expensive to ship BM sets elsewhere. Here in the US it's ~$47/year after shipping, which breaks down to almost $8 per set (6 per year), but shipping costs may be a lot higher in other regions. It is a shame, though, because a lot of the BM sets are pretty cool. They should at least make it available to non-US club members, like they're doing with these two sets.

And they made a mistake with mine and sent me an extra one. Woops.

Posted by voyanui8768 in United Kingdom, 11 Nov 2009 14:38

I'm asking for them both for christmas. The full sized ones are too expensive so these are perfect! Does anyone knowif you can buy these from a lego store? I find buying things in a shop is alot easier than ordering from th internet.

Posted by iabstract in United States, 11 Nov 2009 15:40

@voyanui8768:
I would bet if they're in a shop that they'd only be in Lego shops, given their exclusive nature.

Posted by alpha 40 in United States, 11 Nov 2009 21:29

This is not the first time BM sets were available in non US countries. Earlier this year, I saw the two creator brickmaster sets(20008 and 20011) available on the German shop at home.

Posted by iabstract in United States, 12 Nov 2009 12:48

They also made the Indiana Jones jeep available (at least in the US) for a while, too, shortly after it came out.

Posted by bmwlego in United States, 12 Nov 2009 17:56

This upsets me as a Brickmaster subscriber. Don't tell me that I receive an EXCLUSIVE SET every 2 months and then offer it to people that don't have to subscribe. I think that anyone should be offered the opportunity to buy the subscription to Brickmaster, regardless of where they live.

I won't get my panties up in a bunch over this but I do feel as if LEGO lied about what they were selling me with a Brickmaster subscription.

Posted by iabstract in United States, 12 Nov 2009 18:51

Well, considering Brickmaster is a US exclusive, and these are only being offered overseas, I think it's a decent compromise, since they don't get to subscribe to BM for whatever reason. Having said that, I expect the Daily Mirror exclusives to make their way over here, too. :)

Posted by alpha 40 in United States, 12 Nov 2009 19:11

Iabstract:
I think the daily mirror will make it to the U.S. in the Jan-Feb exclusive. Of the six sets in the deal 3 are out and the other 3 could be there especially because those sets have not yet been announced and are labelled as top secret exclusive.

Posted by iabstract in United States, 13 Nov 2009 15:30

We can only hope. I really want those Star Wars ones.

Posted by dfenz in Ireland, 13 Nov 2009 17:35

The gunship (set 20010) is now showing as 'back orders accepted' for UK and Ireland with shipment in December. Better grab them quickly.

Posted by bobbythefish123 in United States, 13 Nov 2009 19:14

wow. I have both of these sets through brickmaster, and i live in the USA. I am not surprised that they are going so quickly

Posted by I like Lego in Canada, 13 Nov 2009 20:25

The Cheapest they are selling 20010 on ebay for (I think) is $14.00 CDN (At least, that was what I saw the last time I checked).

Posted by Johnnus in Australia, 13 Nov 2009 22:06

maybe the reason why the brickmaster subscription is only available to the US is because the guy who suggested it was an american
still, a lot of the parts in the two sets can be found elsewhere easily

Posted by gratefulnat in Switzerland, 15 Nov 2009 06:31

Huw,
20010 is available again on S@H UK site (and many other countries) as a backorder, ship by Dec 11. :-)

Posted by dfenz in Ireland, 16 Nov 2009 17:43

20010 is now sold out again!!

Posted by dfenz in Ireland, 17 Nov 2009 13:48

20010 is now available again with a shipping date of 15 December. Its fluctuating regularly between 'sold out' and being available with a delay.

Posted by Sabreman64 in United Kingdom, 18 Nov 2009 17:36

Hmm. I'm undecided over whether or not to buy these two sets. I do love the Star Wars Mini sets, but as I already own the previous Mini AT-TE and Gunship, I'm wondering if these slightly redesigned sets are worth the money.

Posted by Jony in Germany, 21 Nov 2009 06:07

Both sets are now available in Germany, but only for Lego Club members.
Each for 5,99€!

I´ve orderd both, but the Gunship will be sent at 11.12.09.
